Imagine what it's like to live in a timeline where Markiplier knows he's being shipped with Ryan Gosling and he likes it. Huh, man, that would be incredible.
After reading the comments and theories, I want to rewatch the Backrooms again, even though I just finished watching it a couple of hours ago. There are so many interesting details and interpretations, I'm thrilledddd
SPOILERS
Okay, after watching Backrooms, I want to share my opinion. There will be pros and cons. I liked the movie! I've been waiting for it for so long, and I'm soooo glad that Kane was finally able to release it! He and the team have done an incredible job, that's for sure. To see how something that originally belonged only to the Internet and its community turned into a REAL MOVIE is a truly historic event.
The pros first!
I just want to praise the variety of locations, THEY WERE SUPER COOL AND UNIQUE, just like in the spirit of Kane!! Visually, my favorite was this weird little bathroom with a big head in the corner. That's exactly what Kane knows how to do, is to convey the very feeling of uncomfortable copies of real rooms that Backrooms is trying so hard to recreate.
I also want to mention a few memorable scenes, such as Clark's first trip to the Backrooms, the scene with the Christmas Tree and the subsequent chase, or Clark and Mary meeting at the wall painting. Ugh, it definitely gave me goosebumps.
It was very nice to see easter eggs for fans of Kane's work (cardboard caveman, image of the sun, windcatcher, blue tape, Still Life soundtrack, etc.). And there was also a frame that repeated the original photo of Backrooms, I NOTICED! :D
I want to praise the GREAT ACTORS separately, God, they were so good!!
I don't know how unpopular this opinion will be, but I liked the open, ambiguous ending and the story with the girl. I like that there is a mystique left in them and it will be interesting for me to read theories about them, hehehe
And finally, I want to praise the overall atmosphere of the film: It was uncomfortable, uneasy, claustrophobic and artificial.
And now to the cons. There are fewer of them, but they are significant, unfortunately.
I didn't like that the Still Life was shown so openly and head-on. I really liked that in the Found Footage 3, the Still Life was shown for a couple of seconds, blurred, fuzzy, distorted, terrifying, because Ravi was running, he had no time to shoot, he was fighting for his life. That was the real mystery - we didn't have a single clear image of the Still Life. That's why I was pretty disappointed when I realized that the Still Lifes in the film would be on the screen for a long time. I also didn't like the way they were made: they looked more like not very high-quality rubber dolls :( Although maybe that was the idea, so I won't scold too much.
My second complaint is the format of the film in principle. The vibe of Kane's video is precisely that these are some random pieces of information thrown at us bit by bit, and it's unclear what it will be and how long it will last: a minute and a half monologue, a 9-minute video about the lamps in the Complex, or 45 minutes of pure camera shooting in almost absolute silence. And the film immediately implies a whole story with a beginning and an end, with its development, with certain characters and locations. It seems to me that this format is simply not quite suitable for Backrooms. They don't need structure, they don't need consistency. It seems to me that they need to stay in the Internet format they are comfortable with, from where they started their existence. I hope you understand what I mean.
I'm sure I forgot to say something, but now I can't remember lol
I don't know, maybe after a couple of reviews and a few comments, I'll radically change my mind, but so far, this is it, AHAHAH
SPOILERS
I liked this little detail that when an unknown "person" took Clark's camera from the table, the camera rose much higher than if it were held by an ordinary person. For some reason, such details give me the creeps much more than screamers
SPOILERS
THEY PUT THE CARETAKER, STILL LIFE OST AND THE INTERNET'S MOST UNKNOWN SONG IN THE MOVIE AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Look, look! Taumoeba is eating Astrophage!! :D
(they're kinda big, but let's ignore that)
I'm twitching, Spotify went down in the middle of my work. I guess I need to move back to YouTube lmao
Should I start playing Level Of Concern by Twenty One Pilots and Parasite Eve by BMTH again due to the latest news about the new virus or...?
looking at you with his big autistic eyes
I'm crying, I googled "twenty one pilots" and it gave me this. Imagine the faces of the people who discovered TĂP for the first time, and that's the first thing they see
Is it just me, or do Tylerâs and Ryan Tedderâs (the lead vocalist of OneRepublic) voices sometimes sound VERY similar? I was listening to the song today and I was like "IS THAT TYLER"
Iâve been a longtime fan of OneRepublic and never noticed it before, but now I CANâT UNHEAR IT
I kindly present you a Grace sketchđ

In my opinion, Bandito is an anthem, if not of the entire TOP fandom, but at least of lore, it is a real religious experience that everyone needs to feel
One of my favorite things in the world is finding reactions from people who are listening to my favorite artists for the 1st time, cus it brings back the feelings I had the 1st time listening. I just watched ChompTooReal's reaction to Trench, and look what TOP does to people đ
He started with energy and ended literally in tears đđđť And I was dancing with him, shouting out the lyrics, I was banging on the table as if I were playing drums, I was crying over all the heartbreaking tracks again, it's just beyond words so amazing
I love the fact that Grace talked to astrophages in the book as if they were real people, calling them "these guys", "little fellas", "the boys", "the gang", he even gave them names!! He's so silly and adorable. Oh Grace, you're so dear to me â¤ď¸âđŠš
