Setting my sights on that 2015 horizon
It seems that every time I write a post in my tumblr, it comes around new years or when I want to make a major change in my life. Some of the changes I managed to do and some I still have to accomplish in the future. All I need to do is prioritise and make sure I take small steps towards those big goals.
Last year, I aimed to be more grateful by taking photos daily of what I am grateful for. It was a nice project but I realised sometimes taking that picture was not necessary for me to appreciate a moment. Sometimes moments need to be appreciated and not taken a photo of until you have fully enjoyed it. This was very difficult in my part being trigger happy. I though to compromise on this, I can write about what I am grateful for daily, and each week I can take a photo of the week to talk about what I have accomplished and what I can do better.
Health wise, I have been at a plateau for a year and the most significant reason is that when I travel, I don't hold myself back from experiencing food from around the world. Not that I will hold back, but my goal for next year would be to make sure I appreciate food in their most native form and have less artificial food. Stay away from the packets and packages. I also want to be at the best shape of my life before I turn 30 so I am aiming for 15% BF in at least 4 months. I am lacking some oomph in my training so I think I will have to invest in getting personal training a couple of times a week.
Travelling, I have done a lot of wandering in 2014. I had a great time getting to know places, people (both tourists and locals), food, reconnecting with old friends and also reconnecting with myself. I loved the freedom of travelling alone, getting lost, being more spontaneous and wandering everywhere. This is something I would definitely continue for 2015. But since I have to visit family in Philippines come July, I also have to save for that so I have to spend wisely and choose my places to visit carefully.
This coming 2015, I also want to make things with my own two hands. I have decided to teach myself how to knit so come August 2015, I want to have made some clothing for my nephew and friends. That goes with having my own garden too and growing my own vegetables, which would go well with my healthier eating resolution.
I know I have to make weekly plans to make sure I am in track with my goals. To finish with, I will leave you with this quote from Marc and Angel to help all those looking to make a new start in the new year:
"Begin. – Remember the feeling you get from taking the first step is far better than the feeling you get from sitting around thinking about it. So get up and get moving. Take the first step this year – just one small step forward. The greatest miracle of your success will not be that you finished, it will be that you had the courage to begin."
