Suggested Course Project~
Using design-thinking principles, students will work together to design their own professional portfolio. Each portfolio will require demonstration of key course learning objectives and will be approved by the instructor in the form or a project proposal that will be submitted during the first month of class. Tools and tactics for a creative approach to the chose project will provide an opportunity for experiential learning of concepts introduced through lectures, cases, readings and interactive video/audio.

Course Objectives~
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of major theoretical perspectives as well as contemporary research developments that have contributed to the understanding of creativity and innovation in strategic marketing management and integrated marketing communications.
Understand fundamental concepts in creativity, design thinking, storytelling and technology management and how these are utilized in contemporary marketing.
Understand both the processes and a number of different tools and techniques to approach creativity and innovation in marketing planning and practice.
Understand how companies are coping in the rapidly changing and highly competitive global marketplace.
Illustrate an understanding of practical applications of major perspectives in creatively identifying and solving marketing challenges and developing/maintaining a personal brand.

Description~
A senior-level course focusing on creative and innovative approaches to identifying and addressing current and critical marketing- related challenges to enhance competitive advantage and maximize strategic adaptability in rapidly changing, technology-driven marketplace. Individual, team and organizational creativity, design thinking, innovation theory and practices will be explored through exercises and projects designed to provide students with the opportunity to engage these processes in a variety strategic marketing activities and for personal branding. Fundamental technical skills for marketing in the 21st century such as coding and application development will be introduced and practiced.
