Hawkeyes
I love all versions of midvalley but his '98 iteration holds a special place in my heart. He's in the background of so many scenes and spends most of the story being 'the guy with the saxophone.' He's casually the coolest guy there. He simultaneously did nothing and didn't need to be doing all that. His B-flat's gone. His role in the plot is to give legato a sick jazz soundtrack and then kill himself. He's the tertiary antagonist. His name is Hornfreak. I love him.
As a legato fan... girl wtf
I think we should all remember that rule number one of Vash's character is love and peace. Rule number two is that he's freakin' pissed off
I feel like episode 11 is the last chance to (attempt to) introduce some trimax plot points, with episode 12 focusing on vash vs knives and wrapping up anything with the other characters
which do we think is most likely to happen
The Couch (or some equivalent)
Legato backstory
Chronica shows up?
Zazie makes their move
Accordion Legato
Lazlo vs Elendira
Chapel the Evergreen (either shows up or in backstory)
None of this happens but the entire cast somehow gets 5 shades whiter
this has been eating at me since 2023 is tristamp knives wearing clothes? or is that his skin? is he walking around naked this whole time? bc his face and hands and feet are skin and theres a dividing line at his neck that makes me think clothes, but then at his hands the pattern fades into skin which makes me think no clothes. maybe its something he generates like his cloak? but then again if he's already wearing clothes then why the cloak? its not like he gets cold and it certainly isn't helping him blend in. when he's a kid we don't see anything but his face, but his outfit is a similar pattern to his current clothes/skin and also vash has skin which makes me think clothes, but also its really funny to think that he's just been wandering around buck ass naked which makes me think no clothes.
speaking of his feet someone at studio orange has a thing for them bc there is no other explanation for why they introduce him clompers first in almost every single scene he's in
what do we think, clothes or no clothes?
he's wearing clothes
he isn't wearing clothes
Even if knives was wearing clothes before he certain isnt now that he became the love child of the silver surfer and groot
Depending on where tomorrow's episode goes I'm anticipating either the couch scene or the legato backstory. Either way it's going to break my heart
double fang v crimsonnail

Love legato finally getting to Go Through Some Shit. One of my favorite things about him as a character is him and vash near-equally Going Through Some Shit at all times, and that everything that happens to him is just as shocking and horrifying as everything he does to others. What do you mean he gets crushed like a soda can then carried around in his own coffin then puppets his own paralyzed body then gets shot in the back of the head AND KEEPS GOING. What do you MEAN he gets stabbed in the ass, stays awake for 5 months, then gets shot like 10 times. And that's not even counting his backstory. The legato and vash parallels always get me. What a character.
Trigaze PLEASE stop giving us happy midvalley scenes I'm going to cry and he's not even dead yet
Imagine how embarrassing radioapple would be from Charlie's pov. "Hey honey this is my new boyfriend" and it's literally a man less than half her chronological age. Who is also her employee/coworker. Who is now dating her dad.
If I was charlie I would simply die
Not exactly a controversial opinion but they're missing the point so badly with stargaze. I was holding out hope and I still don't mind it too much as it's own thing (the trick to enjoying it is to not think of it as an attempted adaptation) but episode 6 missed almost everything?? Where's the unimaginable suffering of vash constantly trying and failing to protect the people around him. Where's knives ripping himself out of the body of his sister. Where's legato puppeting his own paralyzed body around. Where's milly's personality. Why are brad and luida and jessica still alive. Wheres the people vash spares later getting killed brutally. And where is livio???? Its like all the soul is gone and they're just going through the motions. One of the moral dilemmas to me, at least in maximum and '98, was asking at what point does some of the blame, if any, fall onto vash for not stopping these people that then go on to kill thousands. And watching character after character be hurt and die and hate vash and watching this poor man suffer, and admiring him for sticking to his principles even after everything that's been done to him. Stampede handled this a little better, but this season the closest weve got is that one bit with hoppard? And of course they still have time to do some of this, but it's not going to be anywhere near as satisfying with only 6 eps left
I'll have to do another post about the parts I do like bc I'm not trying to hate on stargaze and theres some parts I do really enjoy even if they're really different (I do kind of fw this legato even if hes not as interesting at the og), but I miss the grittiness and despair that first drew me in to '98 and later maximum
I am experiencing levels of cuteness aggression previously known only towards small animals and '98 milly
I haven’t been watching Trigun stargaze but it looks like the MOMENT midvalley came on screen , he started going through it
say what you will about tristamp but the running bit of meryl hitting wolfwood with her car is immaculate
