Every Universe

So I had this cute DC prompt that I'm not going to write considering I'm not good enough at writing to confidently post it, so here you go. I imagined this with Dick, but you can write this with any character you see fit, it doesn't even need to be a DC character Imagine Dick gets sucked into an alternate universe out of nowhere, the only thing he knows about his situation is that he needs to find her

He soon meets the alternate version of himself who was adopted by an average family instead of Bruce and is taken back to the alternates house, where he meets a woman, alternate Dick's wife, whose beauty puts the heavens themselves to shame. He learns her name listens to their story and learns that they met when he was 15. He barely stays in that universe for an hour.

Soon Dick finds himself in another universe where he meets a version of himself whose parents never died. He gets taken to the circus and meets his trapeze partner, the woman from the previous universe, who is once more married to the alternate version of himself. Again he learns their story, and again he learns what age they met, 17.

Universe after universe he travels, meeting himself and that universe's version of his wife. Universe after universe he learns their stories and notices a pattern. They all met in similar yet widely different ways (you get to choose) and they all met between the ages of 13 and 19, but never before and never after. Dick is currently 23.

Dick is jealous. They look so happy and so in love, no matter what situation they are in. Hell, he even meets a version of them that hops between homeless shelters because of financial difficulties, but still, they are happier than he is with his life where he can have everything he wants. He has seen them have children, pets, and even their own businesses, and he. is. jealous.

Then Dick appears in a graveyard where he sees himself kneeling by a gravestone, tears in his eyes as the man who seems only slightly older than himself mourns. They end up talking and Dick learns that he of this universe lost his wife barely a year ago and that he comes to lay her favorite flowers on her grave every day, a tradition he had kept going from when they first started dating. They talk and talk and Dick stays there longer than he has ever stayed in a single universe.

In the end, when Dick finally leaves, he has realized a few things, one of those things being that his universe is the one where he never meets his wife, and yet in the back of his mind he still hears the voice chanting for him to find her

In the next universe, he lands at the feet of the version of his wife who has never met him, and suddenly the voice quiets, knowing that he has found his version of her.

Even in the universes where the other doesn't exist, they still manage to find each other

I could not think of any way to write this well for a few days, so sorry for the late reply. Also, if you are reading this and you made a request, I promise I am getting to it, I've just been a bit swamped with work and writing this post.

Your first meeting with Spencer Reid was something he would never be able to forget, even with his eidetic memory. You waltzed up to him after one of his guest lectures with such confidence that he stood to the side, thinking that you would pass by him. But you didn't. You stopped in front of him, speaking words that he would have never had the courage to utter to someone: "Do you have a name, or can I call you mine?"

He remembers seeing the way your friends cringed behind you, the pick up line that left your lips clearly having made them uncomfortable. When he thought that you would move on after seeing the blush spreading all the way from his toes to his ears, thinking that maybe you coming to flirt with him was a dare, but you didn't. Instead, you uttered another sentence that he could feel himself cringe to as well, but you didn't seem to mind, your eyes too filled with determination to be put off by his facial expression at your request. "I lost my phone number, can I have yours?" He genuinely thought you were joking, but then you held out your phone to him.

In a stupor of confusion, Spencer entered his contact details, waiting for the punchline to come, proving that this truly was some sort of joke. Throughout the whole interaction he was wondering how someone as attractive as you would decide to come up to him of all people and used lines that not even Morgan had the guts to use to try and flirt with him.

It took a few weeks of you consistently sending him pick up lines along with good morning messages and invites to a date before he decided to ask Morgan for advice. It wasn't helpful. His friend had simply laughed in disbelief when told the story and was rendered speechless when he read the messages exchanged between you, most of them from your side. Spencer decided to go for it, after all, what was the worst that could happen, you hit him with another pick up line?

It was worse, so much worse. When he arrived at the designated spot to find you before going to the movies he was met with a bouquet of red roses with branches of baby's breath spread in between. It was a beautiful arrangement he greatly appreciated, but the fact that you gave it to him the moment he stepped out of his car and into your view, as well as the fact that it was a very public display of affection sent Spencer reeling into a stuttering and blushing mess.

The movie you picked out was a romantic comedy, and although Spencer laughed quite a lot, he could not really enjoy the movie itself, too focused on the fact that you held his hand the moment the two of you sat down. It truly baffled Spencer how you could be so nonchalant about how you approached him, you did things he would not have even imagined in his wildest dreams to have the confidence to do.

At dinner, you decided to take him to your favorite restaurant. It was a quaint Italian place a few blocks down from the movie theater. The whole walk there you were full of energy, talking to him and listening to him spew random facts about things that happened in the movie. Your eyes held such pure adoration he wondered if he might have hung the stars in the sky without even realizing it.

Spencer enjoyed his evening with you more than he ever had with anyone else he had gone out with before. As he lay in bed, thinking about the kiss you planted solidly on his cheek after he dropped you off at your apartment he wondered again how it was possible for someone so bright and confident to be as interested in him as you were.

As he drifted off to sleep, Reid wondered where this unfolding relationship with you would take him, and he could truly say that he was excited to see what would happen.

You have never felt your heart drop so quickly and so violently into your shoes before that moment. "He just went into surgery, I don't know how long it's going to take for him to come out, I called as soon as I could."

Derek was shot. He was in surgery. He was shot. Shot. He could be dying. He could be dead.

Shooting out of your seat you grabbed a bag and flung all of your necessities in it, letting Garcia know you were on the way before hanging up the phone. He was in California, 6 hours away by plane and you hadn't even bought tickets yet, you didn't have anywhere to stay. You knew you were being rash rushing to the other side of the country without a plan, but you didn't care. The love of your life was on an operating table and you weren't there.

Hailing a taxi to the airport you finally took the time to book a flight, thanking whatever higher power there was for the fact that the soonest flight out was in less than an hour and praying that you would be able to make it.

Rushing into the hospital, your bag still in hand, you ran up to the front desk.

"I'm looking for Derek Morgan's room, he was shot, can you tell me where he is" even to your own ears your voice sounded frantic, like you were hanging on by a thread. And to be honest you were, you just needed to know that Derek was okay. "What is your relation to the patient?" "I'm his girlfriend"

After getting his room number from the nurse you practically flew up the stairs, not having the patience to wait for an elevator. Seeing his room you moved even faster, breaking into a sprint and almost knocking a tall and lanky man over in the process. Shouting your apologies behind you, you were met with a door, slowing down just in time to not run against it.

You were in such a flurry of relief seeing Derek alive and awake that you didn't even register the rest of the people in the room as you rushed in, dropping your bag at the door and enveloping him in a hug. His good arm reached around you and hugged you back as tightly as he could muster, which was still pretty tight considering he had just woke up from anesthesia.

Kissing the top of your head Derek spoke the first word between the two of you: "Hey princess, what are you doing here?" You shoved yourself out of his embrace, still sitting on the bed and letting the agitation you felt show on your features

"What am I doing here?! Seriously? You got shot and went into emergency surgery and you're asking me what am I doing here?!" "Whoah baby, calm down, I'm fine, doctors said I'll make a full recovery, no lasting damage except for some scarring" your reply followed, with a smack against his good shoulder as well "Don't you ever, and I mean *EVER* do that to me again, do you understand?! I was so scared that I would loose you" "Baby, I'm so sorry that I scared you, but I'm fine now, and I promise to try my best not to get shot again. It ain't exactly fun you know. Now do I get a kiss or what?"

A loud clearing of a voice broke the two of you out of your little world. "Are we perhaps interrupting something?"

"Rossi, man, I respect you and all, but please, get your and everyone else's asses out of my room so I can spend some time with my girl"

You were a doormat. You knew it, your friends knew it, everyone knew it. You tried to set boundaries, to say no, but it never seemed to stick. Saying no made you feel guilty, it made you feel like a bad person even though you knew you weren't.

Being a doormat, people tended to walk all over you, requesting ridiculous things of you. That is how it came to be that you were sitting alone in the bullpen, the clock ticking away, showing you that it was around midnight and you still had a whole stack of papers to go through. You felt yourself about to fall asleep, and truly, you were too tired to fight it off when a ding signaled the arrival of someone.

Without even turning to look who it was you knew it was Spencer Reid. You recognized his footsteps, and even if you didn't, the smell he brought with him would have alerted you. It was the smell of coffee mixed sweet undertones, almost as if he had spent his whole day in a café. It was intoxicating. "What are you still doing here?" "Working, I have a lot of stuff to finish before tomorrow" "you mean today" looking back at the clock you could see he was right, it was now officially the next day.

"Do you need some help?" without even waiting for you to decline Spencer took half of the pile you were working on. He moved fast, knowing you well enough to know that you hated asking for help, especially from him, he just could never figure out why.

"Spencer, you really don't need to, I've got this" reaching your hands to take the files back only to be swatted away by the doctor was something you did not expect. "I'm not saying you don't have it, I'm just going to help you so you can go home earlier"

Sighing you admitted defeat and went to go make coffee for the two of you. With Spencer's help you managed to make it through the massive stack of papers on your desk in less that an hour, something you would never have been able to do on your own.

"You, doctor Spencer Reid, are amazing, what can I do to thank you?" it was a slight tease on your part. You didn't expect him to ask you anything return, it wasn't like him, he was too nice . That was one of the things you loved about him, and one of the reasons you willed the crush growing in your heart to shrivel up and die. He deserved so much better than you. Someone with a mind as amazing as his own, someone with kindness rivaling his and someone who knew how to say no. You were none of those. At least not in your own eyes.

"You could go on a date with me" Spencer surprised himself with those words, he really hadn't meant to say them out loud, but he really liked you, and in a moment of confidence inspired by sleep deprevation, he decided to take a chance.

"Really? You mean it?" the both of you were blushing hard at this point, him thinking about how he could have possibly screwed this up and you thinking about how this could possibly get any better.

"I-I mean, only if you want to, you really don't have to feel pressured, I know I said I would take it as paiment, but honestly spending time with you was enough of a payme-" grabbing his face in your hands you turned him to look at you, shutting off his ramblings with the movement and shutting off his brain with your words

Anyways, here is a little unedited blurb of the fanfic I am currently working on, please enjoy and let me know if you want more:

(Just a note, I know that Supervisory Director is not an actual position, it's just needed for the story, so go with it)

Aaron Hotchner had a deep dislike towards Strauss and he usually made the bare minimum of effort to hide it. She grated on his nerves with the way she saw herself as a benevolent ruler yet acted as a dictator. She was always filled with an air of confidence, and Hotch wasn’t blind enough to say that it was unearned, despite his personal dislike for her. She had managed to get to her position through her own hard work, and he could respect that, but something was off about her that day.

She was fidgeting, fixing her hair and neatly pressed suit when no fixing was required. Hotch hadn’t been told what the meeting was about today, only that it was of the utmost importance, but he knew Strauss was aware of what was happening. Before he could deduce what was happening a woman walked into the room. She looked to be late 20’s or early 30’s. Her suit was neatly pressed, the wine red, almost maroon, complementing her black turtle neck. A subtle golden chain hung around her neck, matching the simple golden studs that adorned her ears. She exuded confidence as she walked, her flat black shoes making a soft yet resounding sound every time she took a step.

Going to stand behind the desk the woman finally spoke. Her eyes glinted with something akin to intimidation as the words left her mouth. “Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner and Section Chief Erin Strauss I presume. I am Supervisory Director Juliet Moretti.” The introduction was short and to the point, a handshake to each punctuating her words as she spoke. Motioning for them to sit down Moretti did the same, the chair seeming to act as a throne to her. If you asked Hotch he would never admit this, but he found the confidant woman in front of him intimidating.

Processing the title Moretti introduced herself with, Hotch finally understood Strauss’ anxiety for this meeting. A Supervisory Director. Someone with the authority to ruin both of their careers and disband his unit by just filing some paperwork. Moretti was someone with power, not just in the way she carried herself, but also in her position in the bureau.

Hi, so I'm writing a Derek Morgan x OC fanfic and it's my first one, so I had a few questions

1. Where should I post it, on tumblr, Wattpad, Ao3? So far the best things I've read have been on tumblr, so I'm kinda leaning towards that

2. So my character was in the military before she was honorably discharged because of injuries. The original plan was for her to have massive scars running along her face and throat all the way to her back, but I don't know if that would be too much. I was also planning on her wearing a mask and turtle necks, not because she's ashamed of her scars, but because she doesn't want to make other people uncomfortable, should I keep the mask or no?

3. So in the military her role was that of a medic, hence the name of the fic being "the Doctor", so she's seen some shit. Should I have her be an on site medic as well for the team, or should I just scrap the whole medic idea and have her be just a bad ass fighter / sniper or something

I'm on the side of the clock app that is filled with "I'll let the world burn for you" Animations and stuff, so I thought I might as well throw in my two cents

"I'll let the world burn" or "I'll watch the world burn" implies that you will allow the world to crumble, but not that you will set flame to the world itself

I think a good alternative that hits me deeper is: "I'll set the world on fire for you" or even better "Brick and mortar will be torn down, fires will rage and I will feed them, screams will fill the air and smoke will billow into the sky. The world will march to its doom and I will be the vanguard. All of this I will do for you."

I know it might sound cringe, but this has been my Roman Empire for the past few days and just needed to share this
