PHM fic/au idea

Grace is a government experiment that was made to try and see if humanity could evolve to not need water, something something billionaire took all the clean water something something, and Eva is his handler.

I like to imagine that Grace was chosen a bit after he lost his job, (and when I say chosen I mean he was picked up off the side of the road) and was originally a scientist helping on the project but they wear like "hold on we can just kill two birds with one stone" and forced him to experiment on himself.

The experiment was somewhat successful as he no longer needed water but it gave him side effects which was super-everything and made him need the sun to live. Governments didn't like this and decided to just hand him over to Eva and said to deal with it.
