So...[Closing his eyes, he recounts the story fondly.] We came from a backwater South Blue kingdom called Kutsukku. Unaffiliated and crime-ridden. Me, Kid, and our commanders Heat and Wire, we all ended up runnin' our own gangs. Wasn't til we lost someone close that we called a truce and brought the gangs under one banner to get revenge.

[He hums happily.] Kid had taken charge to lead us, and we crushed the rival gang, easily. After that, though, it made us really see we had no future there. Not like it was. So, Kid asked us what we thought about bein' pirates and goin' after the One Piece. We had the resources by then, so figured...why not? Commissioned a ship and dissolved our gangs, takin' some of 'em along if they wanted to join up.

[Gesturing for Marshall to follow, Killer leads the way to the door he appeared from, then down some stairs. He detours first to the galley to get the food he prepared.]

"Fixed what you were talkin about and a few other things, and there's always snacks layin around in the lounge, too, so I'd say we're set."

[With everyone on a tray, he leaves the galley and head down the hall a bit further before shoving a door open with his foot. The lounge! It's all couches, beanbag chairs, a pool table, dart boards, a pinball machine, a fridge, a small stage for playing their instruments on, a bar, and a big projector screen for watching stuff on. It essentially looks like a rock dive bar with comfier seating.]]

"Here we go, make yourself at home. You can set your crate over on the bar."

they walk over the the bar and place the crate on it before grabbing a couple of bottles out of the crate, walking over to one of the bean bag chairs and plopping down on it. They hold one of the bottles out to Killer

"Hell yeah, we do. No point havin' treasure if ya don't know how to spend it. Can't take it with us to hell, after all."

[He drops into one of the other chairs opposite his guest.]

"Figured we should go all-out after we lost the first ship. Everyone's got their own room to do up however they want."

[He taps the scar on his left cheek that runs up and over his foggy eye.]

"Had just got to Elbaph after we kicked Big Mom's ass in Wano. Ran into Shanks' fleet and Kid was ready to take em all down in one shot. Didn't count on that Future Sight thing he's got and before Kid could pull the trigger, Redhair got to our ship and put 'im down in one swing of his sword."

[Killer shrugs, popping the cork on his own bottle to take a sip before continuing.]

"I took the backswing across the face, hit the deck and blacked out. From what I heard, ship caught fire and once Shanks cleared out, two of his giant allies split the ship right in half. We were able to salvage some of her, used the pieces when we had this bad bitch made."

Marshall's piercing red eyes widened slightly

... Man... this Shanks guy sounds pretty nasty kehe... How did you guys survive?

"Wouldn't guess it, just lookin' at the guy, but yeah. Don't reach bein' an Emperor for nothin'."

[Killer snorts with a sly edge to his perpetual grin.]

"We're a bunch of punk, cockroach motherfuckers. Even if it'd killed us, we woulda clawed our way back outta hell to get even. Even with his Haki as strong as it was, enough of the crew didn't get knocked out so when we hit the water, they got the rest of us to shore. Had to lay low for a good while to lick our wounds before we could get goin' again."

[Killer takes a swig and sighs.]

"But I also know one person ain't the same as another, so your reason is likely different than mine."

[After a swig of his drink, Killer adds:] "And if the revs do get back to ya, we ain't gonna stop ya goin' with 'em. They're alright in my books."

For Kid. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Was bein' held prisoner by one of Kaido's lackeys, separated from the crew. He offered Kid's safety, in exchange for eating it. Was half starved and beat the fuck up, but woulda done it regardless.

[He gives a rueful laugh, shrugging.] Got all the drawbacks of a real fruit, no powers, and stuck grinnin' like a madman. Not gonna lie. I lost my shit right proper after it took root.

{[ And then, through the settling dust, came laughter. S-Flamingo. He was standing in the middle of the wreckage, staggering slightly as the room spun around him. His hair was singed. He didn't care. He stared at the enormous hole he'd just blown through the building. His grin grew wider. ]}

The remaining section of wall buckled. Then collapsed. A wave of debris blasted outward through the already-open side of the laboratory, throwing dust and fragments into the adjoining corridor. Windows somewhere above them burst outward in a cascading series of crashes. The floor shook hard enough to throw loose equipment from shelves. Something enormous fell over in another laboratory. Then another. ]}

{[ The alarms were completely drowned out for several seconds by the sheer volume of the destruction. ]}

{[ Outside, anyone nearby would have heard the second blast as a deep, rolling boom that seemed to come from inside the earth itself. ]}

{[ Then came the unmistakable sound of masonry collapsing. And after that... silence. Just for a moment. ]}

{[ Then S-Flamingo's laughter echoed through the ruined laboratory. He stumbled backward, one hand catching the edge of a desk. His entire body was trembling from the damage the blast was doing to his ears. His head was spinning violently now. The room seemed to rotate around him, and he had to squeeze his eyes shut for a second just to keep himself upright. When he opened them again, he looked at the enormous second hole where the rest of the wall had been. There wasn't much wall left. The ceiling was beginning to cave. ]}

"...Woah."

{[ He started laughing again. Then he looked down. There were still fireworks in the box. His expression became almost reverent. ]}

"Oh, I'm gonna get in so much trouble."
