first date with Alibaba!!

In all honesty you were both such a nervous wreck.

First off Alibaba going on a date?! Pfft practically no one believed him, maybe even himself. And you were no better. It took everything in you to get the courage to ask him out on a date. While typically the man makes all the moves you have been giving such obvious hints that you liked him and they always went unnoticed! For a second you thought that he just didn’t like you.

It wasn’t until you poured your sweet little heart out to Yamraiha that she told you just to blatantly tell him you’re interested in him and would like to go on a date, and if that doesn’t work out she’ll have sharrkan teach him a lesson or two…whatever that meant.

So here you are outside his room pacing back and forth for the last 5 minutes trying to not chicken out and run away - though in your dilemma you must’ve not noticed the noise you had been making because before you knew it Alibaba had opened the door.

He called out to you with that sweet little smile of his something you had grown to adore the more you spent around him. “Mm? Did something happen?”

“A-Alibaba!!” You squeak out. “Um well you see..!” Letting out an awkward laugh you take a deep breath and look at him a poor attempt at calming your nerves.

“I was wondering if you’d like to walk around Sindria with me tomorrow…there’s a market festival going on and I was hoping we could go together!”

…..

silence was all that followed.

“It’s totally fine if you don’t want too!!” You quickly speak out embarrassed, refusing to look at his face.

Alibaba on the other hand was shocked. You? Wanted to go on a date with him?! Oh he used to pray for times like these.

“Ehh? Wait wait, you want to go with me? I have to be dreaming right now.”

You shyly nod while Alibaba’s body has froze into shock.

He’s barely even able to function properly as he responds to you. “O..of course!! I’d love to go with you!”

As you look up at him with a big smile he can only try to somewhat hold his composure before he genuinely starts acting like a teenage girl which is a bit silly since that’s technically your job.

“Okay then I’ll see you tomorrow!!” You wave at him as you excitedly go back towards your room.

“Yeah..tomorrow..”

That night Alibaba couldn’t sleep.

“Yam..are you sure I look good?”

Yamraiha sighs softly “Yes I promise you do.” She walks over placing her hands on your shoulders “Cmon have more confidence! You’re the prettiest girl with the cutest heart I know!”

You groan a bit as you look at her “I’ve never been on a date before! I mean what if..what if I mess it up?!”

Yamraiha blinks at you with shocked eyes before she bursts out laughing. “W-wait..you’ve never been on a date before” She says through her laughs.

Groaning once again you put your head into your hands embarrassed. “Alibaba must’ve been on some before. What if he notices I have no experience!!”

Yamraiha can’t even pull herself together as she continues her laughter and just as you were going to her a piece of your mind there’s a knock at the door. Looking over at Yamraiha with big eyes as you grow even more nervous she opens the door and pushes you out making you lose your balance. Luckily the person on the other side caught you before you fell. Unfortunately that person was Alibaba.

Both of you quickly grow flustered as you quietly thank him and he can only nod.

He clears his throat “W..well um..are you ready to go?”

You nod “mhm!”

Thus begins the start of an awkward yet sweet first date.

The festival was full of all sorts of fun colors and music all around, all sorts of different vendors and food, the perfect place for a first date.

You two quickly forget your first date jitters as you both look around the festival like kids. Competing over who can get the most wins at the games, trying out all the different kinds of food the vendors had to offer, even buying little things for each other and the others of course. The night had been filled with sweet laughter between you two and both of your arms full of prizes you had won which you both decided to give them out to all the other children who hadn’t won any games.

As the time for the fireworks drew closer everyone made their way to the grassy field to enjoy the view Alibaba led you to a more secluded spot that was still rear enough to see the fireworks since it had been pretty crowded.

Once comfortable you turn over to him handing him a pair of small gold earrings. “I know you already have some but I thought these would look great on you.”

He gives you a bright smile as he takes them “Thank you! I’ll cherish them.” That makes you blush a bit as you shake your hands.

“Ah you don’t have too! It’s just a nice gesture…” You say softly though he doesn’t seem to hear you as he pulls out a golden necklace with a purple gem in the middle to compliment it.

“Here! I saw it when we first walked in and it totally reminded me of you!” As you take the necklace in your hands you pass it back to him “Can you put it on for me?” With a red face he nods and you turn your back towards him.

Though he almost lost his grip on the necklace from his shaky hands he was about to clasp it on. Once you turned around to face him he lost his breath.

Before he realized he had spoken out loud his mouth moved faster than his mind. “It looks beautiful on you.”

You let out a giggle “Thank you!!” He looks off to the side embarrassed “Your welcome..”

The fireworks begin as everyone cheers the beautiful colors decorating the sky and you two look at the sky admiring the colors as well.

“You know I had a bunch of fun Alibaba thanks for agreeing to come with me.”

He stops and turns over to you “You know um..I’ve actually liked you for a while.” You turn over to him eyes wide.

“Huh? Really?!”

He gulps a bit as he nods “I was super nervous to say anything so I never did. But!!” He looks at you with determined eyes. “I’d love to be your boyfriend if…if you’d let me.”

You nod before even thinking “Of course I’d let you silly!! I mean I asked you out on this date!” You laugh a bit before giving a big, bright smile.

“I guess this means we’re a couple now!” Alibaba's face grew so red you couldn’t even tell his original skin tone as you hugged him tightly.

As you two pull away you hear loud cheers behind you looking back you see all your dear friends..cheering you on..?

You look back at Alibaba “How long have they been there..?”

From the looks of it he had just noticed them himself, you both groan as they continue their loud cheers and whistles throughout the night.

He opens up slowly, peeling back emotional layers with time and trust.

Early on, he struggles to express vulnerability. His assassin upbringing and years of political maneuvering taught him to mask feelings, but in the safety of your marriage, he begins to share — first small things, like insecurities, then deeper confessions about fear, guilt, and his desire for peace.

He often overworks, taking on far too much to protect others, sometimes forgetting to take care of himself.

You’ll often find him staying up late buried in documents or coming home long after dark, looking exhausted but refusing to complain. He believes he must always be “useful” and doesn’t want to burden you. You’d often have to pull him away from work and insist he rest — he’ll protest, but deep down, he’s grateful.

Ja’far adjusted the collar of his formal robes again, the fabric stiffer than what he preferred, but he wore it without complaint. His reflection in the mirror stared back, composed as ever, but his mind was racing. Not with nerves, exactly — it was something deeper, harder to name.

A knock sounded. “Ja’far? You ready?”

It was Sinbad, of course. Ja’far sighed, reaching for his headband before opening the door. “I was ready thirty minutes ago. You’re the one who usually makes people wait.”

Sinbad grinned, leaning casually against the doorframe. “True, but I figured today, I’d give you space to… you know, panic.”

“I’m not panicking.”

“You’re panicking *internally.*” Sinbad stepped in, clapping a hand on Ja’far’s shoulder. “It’s okay. I get it. You’re about to marry someone way out of your league.”

Ja’far shot him a flat look. “You’ve had that joke planned for weeks, haven’t you?”

Sinbad laughed, stepping back. “Maybe. But seriously, take a breath. You’re not walking into a battle. You’re walking toward them.”

Ja’far’s expression softened at that, and for a moment, the tension in his chest eased. He gave a nod, straightening. “Yeah. I know.”

The hall was filled, but Ja’far barely noticed the guests — diplomats, generals, old friends, all waiting with polite smiles and ceremonial formality. None of it mattered.

Only the doors ahead mattered.

When they opened, and you stepped in, everything else fell away.

You met his gaze, eyes wide but warm, and he exhaled slowly, tension fading with each step you took toward him.

“You’re staring,” you whispered when you reached him.

Ja’far blinked, then offered a rare, faint smile. “You’re beautiful. I’m allowed to stare.”

Your cheeks warmed, and you reached for his hand — he took it immediately, fingers tightening around yours like an anchor. He always held your hand like that — firm, grounding, like he was silently promising not to let go.

The officiant began to speak, but neither of you really heard the words. Ja’far leaned in slightly, murmuring under his breath so only you could hear.

“Are you sure about this?”

You gave him a mock-glare. “You’re asking me *now*?”

“Just confirming.” His thumb brushed over your knuckles. “You can still run if you want. I’ll cover your escape.”

You snorted softly, squeezing his hand. “Not a chance. I’m staying right here.”

A breath escaped him — half-laugh, half-relief. “Good.”

Later, when the ceremony ended and the formalities faded, you found yourselves alone in the garden courtyard behind the palace, away from the noise. The sky had begun to dim, stars blinking into view. Lanterns flickered gently around the edges of the garden path, casting soft light.

Ja’far stood beside you, hands behind his back, posture relaxed for once.

“This is strange,” he murmured.

You tilted your head. “What is?”

“Peace. Stillness.” He looked at you, eyes thoughtful. “I’ve lived my life preparing for battles. Making plans. But now… I don’t have to fight for this. You’re here.”

You stepped closer, leaning against him lightly. “You’ll still have battles. Just not alone.”

His arm slid around your waist, pulling you in. “No. Not alone.”

There was a long pause, the kind Ja’far never seemed to mind. Then, he murmured, “Thank you. For staying. For seeing me.”

You turned to face him fully. “Always.”

And with that, he leaned in, pressing his forehead to yours — a silent vow, soft and steady, like the man himself. Not flashy, not loud — but unshakable.

She had become the only normalcy in his whirlwind of a life. Late-night conversations when the city was asleep, her soft voice grounding him when the pressure became too much. Her presence was a breath of fresh air in a world that often felt suffocating.

Then, softly, “Are you breaking up with me... because you’re busy?”

“It’s more than that,” he said quickly, trying to explain. “This dream I have, it consumes everything. And I can’t keep asking you to wait for scraps of my time.”

She looked at him with such sadness, but there was no anger. Only heartbreak.

“I never asked for all of you, Sinbad. I just wanted the part of you that was *real*, that belonged to *me*. But... if you’ve already made up your mind...”

He swallowed hard. “I have to.”

A bitter smile touched her lips as she nodded. “I understand. I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

She left quietly, the sound of the door closing echoing louder than anything.

One night, during a diplomatic event hosted in Sindria, Sinbad attended out of sheer obligation. The grand hall was filled with officials, foreign merchants, and nobles, all clamoring for his attention. But none of them mattered. Not really.

He moved through the crowd with practiced ease, giving smiles and handshakes, until something—or rather, someone—caught his eye.

She stood across the room, engaged in conversation with a foreign dignitary. Dressed elegantly, confident, and poised, she looked like she belonged there. And yet, in his eyes, she looked almost unreal, like a memory brought to life.

His breath caught. He hadn’t seen her since that night.

She glanced his way, their eyes locking. For a moment, time seemed to slow. The sounds of the party faded, the people disappeared, and there was only her—looking back at him, calm, unreadable.

He approached her slowly, unsure of what he’d say. Unsure if he even had the right to speak to her again.

"You're here," he said quietly, voice low enough that only she could hear. "I didn’t expect to see you."

She looked up at him, tilting her head slightly. "It’s a public event. I was invited. Just like everyone else."

Her tone wasn’t cold—but it wasn’t warm either. It was careful, guarded.

“I didn’t mean—” he faltered, realizing how stupid it sounded. “You look... well.”

She gave a small smile, the kind that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “I am. Life’s quieter now. Less complicated.”

His heart clenched at that. Less complicated. Without me.

He swallowed hard, searching her face for anything—something—that hinted she missed him, that he hadn’t become just a closed chapter in her life.

“I’ve missed you,” he said suddenly, the words slipping out before he could stop them.

She went still for a second. “Sinbad...”

“I was wrong,” he interrupted. “Back then, I thought I was doing the right thing. I thought letting you go would free you, give you a better life. But I didn’t understand—I didn’t see that you were the only thing that kept me sane. The only thing that reminded me I was more than this... title, this company, this dream.”

She looked at him for a long moment, eyes softening just slightly. “You were always chasing something,” she said quietly. “And I was always chasing you.”

He stepped closer, lowering his voice. “I don’t want you to chase me anymore. I just want... you. If there’s any part of you that still feels the same... I want to fix this.”

There was a silence between them, heavy and full of things left unsaid. Her eyes flickered with emotion—hurt, longing, hesitation.

“I don’t know if we can go back,” she said finally. “But maybe... we don’t have to.”

Sinbad exhaled slowly, the tightness in his chest easing just a bit.

“Then let me try. Not as a king. Not as the head of a company. Just... as Sinbad.”

And for the first time in a long while, she smiled—not guarded, not bitter—but real. Soft and familiar. The kind that used to feel like home.

Maybe this wasn’t the end. Maybe this was the chance they never gave themselves before.

Sinbad had always been a light sleeper. It came with years of war, countless nights spent on battlefields, and an ingrained instinct that told him to always be ready. But nothing—not the bloodshed, not the endless battles—prepared him for the sound that woke him that night.

A sharp, gasping breath. A choked sob.

His eyes blinked open instantly, adjusting to the dim glow of the moonlight filtering through the silk curtains. His arms instinctively reached out for you, but you weren’t there.

You were sitting up at the edge of the bed, back tense, body trembling. Your hands gripped the sheets so tightly that your knuckles turned white. He could hear your breathing—ragged, desperate, like someone gasping for air after being pulled from the depths of the ocean.

Sinbad pushed himself up slowly, his voice low, soothing. "Hey… what’s wrong?"

You flinched. Flinched. As if his voice alone had struck you.

His heart squeezed in his chest, a cold sense of unease settling in his gut. He reached for you, his fingers brushing against your arm, but you recoiled violently, scrambling away as if he had burned you.

Sinbad stilled. You turned to look at him then, and the sight made something deep inside him break.

Your eyes—usually so full of warmth, of mischief, of life—were filled with raw terror. They darted around the room, wide and unfocused, as if searching for something. As if searching for a way out.

"Where…?" Your voice came out in a whisper, hoarse and unsteady. "Where am I?"

He furrowed his brows, his concern growing. "You're in our room," he said gently, watching you carefully. "You're safe."

But the fear in your eyes didn’t fade.

Sinbad felt the shift before he fully understood it. The way you shrank away from him, how your body coiled like a cornered animal. The way your lips trembled as you whispered, "Who are you?"

His stomach dropped.

The words didn’t register at first. They didn’t make sense. You had whispered his name countless times, in love, in laughter, in anger, in pleasure. But this?

You didn’t recognize him.

It clicked then—this wasn’t you. Not you as he knew you.

This was the girl you used to be. The one before you had freedom, before you had a name that was yours, before you had him. This was the girl who had been stripped of everything, left to survive in chains.

Sinbad had heard hints of your past before. He had seen glimpses of the wounds you carried, the way your body tensed at certain touches, how your breath hitched when someone walked behind you too quietly. But never, never had he seen you like this.

He forced himself to stay calm, his hands raised slightly to show he meant no harm. "Sweetheart, it's me. It's Sinbad." His voice was softer now, laced with something rare—uncertainty. "You're not there anymore. You’re safe."

But you weren’t hearing him. Your chest rose and fell in shallow gasps, panic still thick in your eyes. Sinbad wanted nothing more than to pull you into his arms, to whisper against your skin that it was okay, that he was here, that nothing could hurt you. But touching you now? He knew it would only make things worse.

So instead, he stayed where he was. He waited. He let his voice be the thing that reached you, soft and patient. "You're here. With me. No one is coming for you. No one can touch you."

Your fingers curled into the sheets, your body trembling. He could see the war happening inside you, the lingering ghosts of your past keeping their claws deep in your mind. And then—finally—you blinked.

Your breathing slowed, your eyes clearing slightly as they flickered back to his face. "Sinbad...?"

Relief hit him so fast and so hard that he almost let out a shaky breath. But he didn’t move, not yet. "Yeah, it's me."

You looked at him for a long moment, as if trying to piece everything together. Then, as if the weight of it all finally crashed down on you, your shoulders shook, and you let out a quiet, broken sob.

That was all it took.

Sinbad moved instantly, catching you as you collapsed into him, arms wrapping around you tightly. Your hands fisted into his shirt, clinging to him like he was the only thing keeping you tethered to reality.

"I’m here," he murmured against your hair, pressing a kiss to your temple. "I’ve got you."

You buried your face in his chest, trying to steady your breathing, to ground yourself in the feeling of his warmth, his scent, the steady rhythm of his heart. He ran his fingers through your hair, rubbing soothing circles into your back, whispering quiet reassurances against your skin.

It took a while for your shaking to stop, for your heartbeat to steady. And even after you calmed, Sinbad didn’t let go. He wouldn’t.

Not until you fell asleep in his arms. Not until he was sure you knew that you were safe.

Not until you knew that as long as he was here, your past would never take you away from him again.

I've officially finished magi; labyrinth of magic after months of putting it off in fear it would make me feel sad asf (IT DID I'M FUCKING BALLING MY EYES OUT) man I have SO much to say about this series, and the first thing I want to say is

IT'S A MASTERPIECE

genuinely deserves so much more HYPEEE. I don't think I'll ever heal from it, I'm attached to the damn characters 💔💔 and yes you maybe be thinking "finishing magi in 2025?!? The fandoms particularly on its last breath" I KNOWWWW N I'M DEVASTATEDDDDDDD. Magi has genuinely changed my perspective in political views (corny yes, but true) And at the big age of 23 💔

Oh god this is where I started tearing tf up. Even after all the bullshit sinbad pulled I genuinely love the dude sm, (Hate what he did to kougyoku obvi) he's the character I started magi for, and seeing this panel knowing it would be the last of him mad me ILLLL. "I'll be back no matter what" WHERE IN THE WORLD R YOU NOW. The way his character had me gasping, crying and cheering is insane, sinbad u will ALWAYS be in my heart for who knows how many years.

THIS FUCKING PAGE SPREADDDDDDD OG MY GOD SERENDINE BEING THERE MADE MY HEART WEAKKKK. I remember declaring her my fav back when I was starting aos, and woah did that ruin me. Aladdin telling sinbad that his friends and companions r the reason for his evolution growth n impact?? HAVE MERCYYYYY 😭😭🙏🙏. Aladdin having all these expectations pushed onto him at a young age was heart breaking enough but the people he met made that burden so much more easier to bear, knowing they would be there to help pick him up and guide him.

Magi truly is a beautiful story, showing actual worldly struggles, amazing character development and friendships and insane plot twists, I truly want more people to find out and have as much fun with Magi as I and many others have. Heyy, hope you finished your masterlist before I bother you lol, but I was wondering if you could write a HC of Sinbad with a fem!S/O that conquered a dungeon and but she rarely uses her Djinn, and the one time she uses in front of him is to protect him in a fight where she dies but the Djinn brings her back to life (Imagine Khonshu or Moonknight from Marvel lol, but if you don't know/doesn't like it, just ignore this part), also sorry for the bad english:]

However, he noticed something odd: you rarely ever used your Djinn, almost as if it was your last resort. He was curious, always watching, waiting for the moment you would reveal the full extent of your power.

Sometimes, he would tease you about it, grinning as he leaned in close. “Are you hiding some secret power from me, sweetheart?” he would say. But no matter how many times he asked, you always brushed it off with a small smile. "I just prefer fighting my own battles," you would reply, never giving him a real answer. He admired that about you. You weren’t just powerful—you were someone who relied on your own strength before anything else.

Then came the battle that changed everything.

The enemy was unlike any you had faced before, and for the first time in a long while, Sinbad was in danger. He had taken too many hits, injuries weighing him down, making it impossible to move in time. The enemy closed in on him, and for the first time, a flicker of fear ran through him—not for himself, but for you. He wasn’t afraid to die, but the thought of leaving you behind? That terrified him.

And then, he saw it. The golden glow of your Djinn equip illuminated the battlefield, a radiant force that stole the breath from his lungs. You had never used it before—not like this. The sheer power, the overwhelming presence, was unlike anything he had ever seen from you. It was beautiful, but there was no time to admire it. You moved before he could stop you, stepping in front of him just as the enemy’s attack came crashing down.

The sound of impact, the way you crumpled to the ground—everything happened too fast. Blood pooled beneath you, staining the earth in a way that made his stomach churn. His heart stopped. You weren’t moving.

Sinbad dropped to his knees beside you, hands shaking as he reached for you, voice raw as he called your name. You didn’t respond. No, no, this couldn’t be happening. He had fought countless battles, faced death more times than he could count, but nothing had ever felt like this. He was losing you, and there was nothing he could do.

Then, the air shifted. A divine presence surrounded you, golden light engulfing your body as an ancient voice echoed through the battlefield.

“She is not meant to die yet.”

The glow intensified, so bright that Sinbad had to shield his eyes. When it faded, your wounds were gone. Your breath returned. And when your eyes fluttered open, his entire world came rushing back to him. He didn’t care how or why. He pulled you into his arms, holding you so tightly it was as if he was trying to anchor you to him. His face was buried in your hair, his grip unyielding. He couldn’t let go. Not yet.

After that, he never let you brush off your Djinn’s power again. He needed to understand it—its limits, its risks, and the price it carried. He was grateful it saved you, but the knowledge that you had to die for it to activate haunted him. That fear never left him.

One night, as he held you close, his voice was quiet, almost pleading. "Don’t ever do that again," he muttered against your hair. "I can’t lose you like that again."

He never asked you to use your Djinn after that. But whenever a battle happened, you could always feel his eyes on you, silently begging you not to make that same sacrifice again.

Jealousy Headcanon: Sinbad and Wife s/o

Sinbad is usually confident—after all, he’s the King of Sindria, a Dungeon Conqueror, and one of the most charming men in the world. He doesn’t often feel threatened… until someone gets a little too close to his wife.

At first, he plays it off coolly. He smirks, watching as a noble, a foreign prince, or even one of his own generals tries to impress his wife. She’s his, after all. No one can take her away.

But if the guy gets too bold? Maybe touches her arm, leans in too close, or makes a comment about her beauty? Sinbad's smile tightens. His aura shifts. Suddenly, the air feels heavier, like the calm before a storm.

He doesn't explode in anger, but he makes his presence very known. He’ll casually slide an arm around his wife’s waist, pulling her into his side with a possessive yet effortless motion.

“Ah, I see you’ve met my wife,” he emphasizes, his tone smooth but dangerous. His golden eyes narrow just enough to send a silent warning.

If the guy still doesn’t back off, Sinbad ups his game. He’ll pull his wife into his lap if they’re sitting, or maybe kiss her right in front of the poor fool, smirking against her lips as he watches the other man’s confidence crumble.

Later, when they’re alone, his jealousy turns into something else entirely. He doesn’t like feeling possessive, but he needs to remind his wife exactly who she belongs to. And he makes sure she never forgets it.
