─── ⊹₊˚ MISCONCEPTIONS #2 ˚₊⊹ ───

I had so much fun with the first post, so I decided to make another one. For those who are not familiar with my previous post, I will try to bring attention to some misconceptions that modern astrology created and after that I'll explain how they actually showed up in hellenistic astrology. This way people will be able to understand the roots of tropical astrology more accurately and could perhaps even choose to sail away from the misconceptions or the "rose-tinted glasses" ideas that modern astrology created. I hope I will enlighten you, and if you have any other misconception that you'd love for me to talk about please leave it in the comments!

♡︎. "THE 4TH HOUSE REPRESENTS THE MOTHER. THE 10TH HOUSE REPRESENTS THE FATHER"

Plot twist: it's the complete opposite. The 4th house represents the father while the 10th house represents the mother. On my last astrology observations post some people were shocked when I said that the 4th house = the father and the 10th house = the mother so now I feel obligated to talk about this. The reason why modern astrology started to associate the 4th house with the mother and the 10th house with the father is due to the ABC house system. The ABC house system believes that each sign rules over each house (ex: Aries rules over the 1st house, Taurus rules over the 2nd house etc.), however this system is extremely inaccurate and makes absolutely no sense if you take in consideration the house's original/real meanings. Anyways, back to the topic, this mismatch in the parental roles based on houses started when Cancer was associated with the 4th house and Capricorn with the 10th house, and that of course makes no sense. For example Capricorn is a feminine sign and its ruling planet aka Saturn is described as a feminine planet based by Dorotheus of Sidon's texts, so then why are we assigning the father to these two?

♡︎. "THE LUNAR NODES REPRESENT YOUR DESTINY"

While yes, they do represent disruption beyond your control, they certainly don't represent "the karmic lessons that you are meant to fulfill" or anything like that. The North Node tends to amplify, exaggerate or perhaps even obsess over whatever it touches, while the South Node tends to reduse, drain or perhaps even create detachment from whatever it touches. If you live life based on your North Node you won't fulfill your destiny, you'll just keep consuming and consuming and consuming until you eventually consume your peace of mind

♡︎. "AQUARIUS IS REBELLIOUS/UNPREDICTABLE"

Nope. Aquarius by default does not represent the change in the system, and that role may actually belong to Capricorn. Stick with me a little on this one. Aquarius is a fixed sign that's ruled by Saturn, how can it possibly be unpredictable or volatile if its make-up literally does not allow that? I suppose that this misconception started from the fact that Uranus was assigned to rule over Aquarius, but first of all why are you assigning rulership for the generational planets that even in modern astrology are considered to represent a societal impact rather than a personal impact? And second of all even if you could assign rulership to the generational planets, why assign Uranus for Aquarius? That doesn't make any sense to Aquarius' true nature. As for the "rebellious" side of Aquarius, this belief may have started from the fact that Aquarius represents the underdogs, and while that is indeed true Aquarius does not represent the change that comes for them, it strictly represents the oppressed status. Capricorn on the other hand can be the Saturnian sign that represents the change for the underdogs because it is a cardinal sign where Mars finds it's exaltation in

♡︎. "A SYNASTRY CHART IS NOT ENOUGH. YOU ALSO NEED TO SEE A COMPOSITE/DAVISON/ETC. CHART"

I'm sorry, but you can never pay me to care about Composite or Davison charts. This may be a controversial take but I said what I said. Even when I was a dedicated modern astrologer I still didn't care about them at all. A composite chart that's bad won't doom your relationship if your synastry chart is balanced and has stabilizing aspects, the same way a good composite chart won't magically solve a challenging synastry chart. Instead of focusing on 6493736 romantic charts, just focus on one good synastry chart reading and I'll assure you that you will be more fulfilled

All of the enlisted things below are my own personal observations and opinions blah blah they may be unreliable and they may not resonate with you blehhh blehhh the entire chart matters yadda yadda I think that you already know the drill

♡︎. MARS-INFLUENCED 7TH HOUSE

I've often noticed that people who have a Mars-influenced 7th house (Mars in the 7th house, 7th house ruler being Mars, 7th house ruler in conjunction with Mars, 7th house ruler in a Martian sign, 7th house ruler in the bound of Mars) tend to hurry a lot when it comes to their relationships, especially when it comes to their marriage. When they want someone, they want to get them fast. They also often marry early in life because they hurry to get into a serious relationship with their partners

♡︎. THE ASCENDANT'S BOUND

In my opinion the bound in which the Ascendant finds itself in can play a huge role in someone's physical appearance. For example someone who has their Ascendant sitting in Mercury's bound may have youthful physical features, someone who has their Ascendant sitting in Venus' bound may have symmetrical or attractive physical features, someone who has their Ascendant sitting in Mars' bound may have sharp and athletic physical features etc.

♡︎. 12TH HOUSE/SATURN-INFLUENCED MERCURY

I've noticed that people who have a 12th house/Saturn-influenced Mercury (Mercury in the 12th house, Mercury in harsh aspects to Saturn, Mercury in a Saturnian sign, Mercury in the bound of Saturn, Saturn in the bound of Mercury) may have neglected their early education at some point. Maybe they got constantly bullied which in return made them skip school, maybe they had a learning disability which made them slowly lose hope in learning, maybe some external factors made it hard for them to attend school or maybe at some point they simply didn't care about school and chose to not pay attention to lessons and assignments

♡︎. SUN IN THE 4TH HOUSE/ SUN IN THE 10TH HOUSE

People who have their Sun sitting in the 4th house tend to share at least one major physical feature or personality trait with their fathers (since the 4th house represents the father), while people who have their Sun sitting in the 10th house tend to share at least one major physical feature or personality trait with their mothers (since the 10th house represents the mother)

♡︎. PLANETS IN THEIR OWN BOUND

I have a feeling that people underestimate just how strong a planet that falls in its own bound can be. For example I've noticed charts where Saturn or a debilitated planet would've normally caused trouble in a native's life, but because that specific planet fell in its own bound things actually turned out well for the native

♡︎. DEBILITATED MOON & THE MOM

Sometimes an afflicted/debilitated Moon (Capricorn Moon, Scorpio Moon, Moon in the 6th/8th/12th house, Moon in harsh aspects to a malefic planet, Moon sitting in the bound of a malefic planet) doesn't always translate to mommy issues. Sometimes it can just simply describe an overworked or sick mother. Maybe the Mother was always facing trouble throughout her life (especially thoughtout her pregnancy with the native), maybe the Mother couldn't fully connect with the native due to external circumstances or maybe the Mother had a serious illness

♡︎. SATURN DOMINANTS ATTRACTING SUN/MOON DOMINANTS

I have often noticed that people who are Saturn Dominant tend to attract in their lives a lot of Luminary Dominant people. I know that this is more of a silly and perhaps even useless observation but I just wanted to add it because I find it cute how Saturn and the Luminaries are opposites yet these polar opposites still keep attracting each other through people

♡︎. 1ST HOUSE - 8TH HOUSE CONNECTION

Content warning ahead for the mention of suicide. Please skip if that makes you uncomfortable

In my opinion a 1st house - 8th house connection (chart ruler in the 8th house, chart ruler harshly aspecting 8th house ruler) can be a really, really tough placement because from what I've noticed a native with this placement in their chart may face at some point a rough patch in their life which makes them feel dead inside or maybe even makes them consider suicide due to a declining mental health

Don't use a permanent solution for a temporary problem. If you feel like you struggle with suicidal thoughts, please reach out to a loved one or to a help hotline

♡︎. MOON IN THE 9TH HOUSE

Natives with their Moon sitting in the 9th house cannot, and I mean cannot, sit in the same constant living place for years. If they don't travel somewhere after a while, they start to emotionally stagnate and then they feel worn down by their current surroundings. Traveling once in a while is basically like oxygen for these people

♡︎. JUPITER-MARS/JUPITER-VENUS HARSH ASPECTS

From what I've observed some women who have Jupiter-Mars harsh aspects in their natal chart may develop at some point negative beliefs about men. Some of them eventually end up like those "#ihatemybf" misandrist girls you see on your TikTok fyp. Some men who have Jupiter-Venus harsh aspects in their natal chart on the other hand may develop at some point negative beliefs about women which in return makes them hold misogynistic values

When the topic came to my saturn chart ruler, I have definitely gone through themes that were mentioned, I’ve lost both of my grandpa’s from my mom and dad side at quite a young age around 7-9 years old?

Oh my goodness, I definitely struggled through early education. I remember it in the back of my head. There were many times where I failed many spelling tests and absolutely couldn’t understand the words written in front of me. This also caused me to fail subjects like math because I could not understand what the question was asking for. This created a lot of pressure from teachers, criticism and being gossiped about by classmates?..

With my sun being in the 9th house, I definitely feel drawn to spiritually, long-distance travel, different cultures and occultism. Despite being in my own religion which is taoism I also do follow my religion’s practices and have my own deities to pray to, I am still interested in learning about other cultures, astrology and tarot going as far as to purchasing readings not just this one.

Hello everyone! I decided to make a short post where I address different misconceptions about astrology or astrological beliefs

Truth be told I believed in the majority of the misconceptions in here, until I eventually expanded my knowledge on Hellenistic astrology and decided to "redeem" myself by making this post in order to help others understand astrology more accurately. I hope you enjoy this post!

♡︎. "THE 8TH HOUSE REPRESENTS SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS"

A classic misconception that constantly circles around astrology spaces. For the majority of time the 8th house was never associated with sexual encounters. The 8th house represents shared resources, inheritance, taxes, debt, loss and death itself. Notice how it doesn't mention sex anywhere in it's traditional interpretation? This misconception got popularized when the 8th house started to be associated with Scorpio/Pluto (which mind you these two are also not traditionally associated with sexual encounters). If you want to know the house and the planet that genuinely represent sexuality and sexual encounters, then you will need to look at the 5th house and Venus

♡︎. "HOUSES ARE CORRELATED TO SIGNS"

If you don't know what I'm referring to, it's basically the concept that "Aries governs over the 1st house, Taurus governs over the 2nd house etc." This misconception is probably something that a lot of us fell for because modern astrology (aka the system that a good amount of people started from) is mapped by this belief, but once you get into traditional astrology you realize just how invalid this theory is.

A good way for you to detach from this theory is to learn the traditional meaning of each house and perhaps even learn about planetary joys so that you can build a better understanding on how houses work in astrology

♡︎. "UNION (1585) REPRESENTS MARRIAGE / MONY (7782) REPRESENTS MONEY / ETC."

For me personally asteroids no longer pique my interest, but if I do use them then I'm very picky with what asteroids I choose. In fact, I believe that everyone should be picky with the asteroids that they choose and everyone should research an asteroid's name before assiging a meaning to it

Union is constantly seen as an asteroid that represents marriage or soulmate connections because the word "union" itself can be seen in a romantic light, but the reason behind this asteroid's name is not a romantic one. The asteroid was named after the Union Observatory, not after a philosophical idea of love. In my opinion assiging this asteroid to love is quite silly

Another popular example is asteroid Mony. Everyone think that this asteroid is related to Money due the fact that these two terms are similar, but the truth is that this asteroid was named in honour of Monica De Magistris (for context Mony is a common nickname for people that are named Monica). With all due respect, assigning money to this asteroid knowing that its name is supposed to be a tribute is straight up stupid

What I'm trying to say is that people should use asteroids with discernment and research the meaning behind their names first

♡︎. "THE 12TH HOUSE REPRESENTS SPIRITUALITY"

Spoilers: it does not. The 12th house was always considered a dark house that represents isolation, pain, imprisonment, hidden enemies and sorrow. If you want to find out which houses are actually associated with spirituality, then you will need to look at the 9th and 3rd house. A lot of people may argue that through painful and isolated moments you can spiritualy awaken, but truth be told the majority of people do not have the maturity needed for spiritual awakening in harsh life moments, so the idea of the 12th house being spiritual still doesn't hold up much

Hello everyone! I've decided to make a fun activity on my discord server where I asked different members what their most disliked personal placements are. After that, I've noted down these placements and I created advice based on each one of them. I hope you guys enjoy this post and find my advice enlightening!

♡︎. SATURN 1ST HOUSE

When the planet of sorrow, limitations, karmic lessons and discipline sits on the house that represents your life force, your outer shell and your temperament, self expression becomes a heavy burden. People with this placement often deal with a suppressed personality, tough life lessons, self-image issues, insecurity and lack of confidence.

My advice for people who have Saturn in the 1st house is to build a healthy sense of confidence & self-trust, remain disciplined, have patience with themselves and develop their skills no matter how tough it may be in the beginning. Even if Saturn is a malefic force, if you remain fair and rigorous then you can expect to bloom later in your life

♡︎. SUN SQUARE SATURN

People who have Sun square Saturn in their natal chart have to deal with the fact that their vitality, life force, higher intellect, visibility and success are often blocked and delayed. This placement can create a lack of energy, trouble gaining recognition for one's talents/skills, a lack of hope and vision for one's life, a turbulent/absent dynamic with one's father and perhaps even health issues related to the heart or the overall bodily vitality

If your Sun overcomes your Saturn, then my advice for you is to practice humility without suppressing yourself, to dedicate your energy into projects that are truly worth your time and to seek mentorship whenever you feel lost. If your Saturn overcomes your Sun, then my advice for you is to remain disciplined without becoming critical of yourself, to remain dedicated to your craft even if in the beginning you won't gain recognition and to wait for your time to shine without giving up

♡︎. VENUS IN VIRGO

This is Venus' toughest placement because Venus finds it's Fall in this sign. People with Venus in the sign of Virgo tend to face issues when it comes to their romantic life due to the fact they either attract critical, picky and dissatisfied partners, or they themselves embody these previously enlisted qualities in their relationships. In general these people simply cannot reach full pleasure and satisfaction in anything due to their perfectionist or reserved mentality

My advice for people who have a Virgo Venus is to learn how accept imperfection. These people must understand that they can't be perfect and they can't find a perfect partner because humans are imperfect by nature. Instead of trying to fix their partner's flaws, these people must use their hard-working and analytical skills in order to nurture their bond and communicate with their partner effectively

♡︎. CHIRON IN THE 4TH HOUSE

As everyone knows by now, Chiron is the asteroid that represents the wounded healer archetype. This asteroid in your natal chart represents the deep wound that you'll have no choice but to learn how to heal in yourself and others before you turn bitter. The 4th house on the other hand is the lowest angle of the chart which represents your private environment, home, family, father, ancestral lineage and emotional foundation. People who have Chiron in the 4th house may face a traumatic upbringing, generational trauma, lack of emotional security and a rocky/absent relationship with their father (or their family in general).

My advice for people who have Chiron in the 4th house is to address their unstable emotional world with an expert, to break the generational trauma that their lineage may have gone through and to cut ties with their family/their father if the relationship between them is unfulfilling and incapable of being repaired. As sad as it sounds, people with this placement must learn how to build their own emotional foundations from the ground even if their upbringing wasn't warm

♡︎. COMBUST MARS IN THE 9TH HOUSE

This placement belongs to one of my friends. Even if she's a dear person to me, when it comes to each other's values we can barely agree. She's not a bad person, but she's very close-minded when it comes to other people's views. She has this "my way or the high way" mindset. I remember how one time when the presidential elections happened in our country we used to debate over which person we'd vote, and she couldn't accept the fact that I'd vote for a different person than her choice. She would then go ahead and constantly send me videos of the person she supported as a way to change my mind

♡︎. MARS IN THE 1ST HOUSE

I've seen this placement in the charts of so many of my friends that are plus-sized or chubby in general, regardless of the sign of this placement. Even if I don't have an explanation on why this placement specifically could give someone a chubbier body, I've decided to add it because it became very common for me to see it. My personal theory is that Mars in the 1st house can be associated with chubbiness granted that Mars rules muscles and in some cases chubby people tend to have more muscle mass, but idk if that's a plausible explanation. ♡︎. SUN-MOON CONJUNCTION

This is more of a synastry observations, but might as well add it here. I've constantly noticed that I tend to attract friends who have the same Sun sign as my Moon sign, or friends who have the same Moon sign as my Sun sign. I know that people keep constantly talking about Sun-Moon when it comes to romantic synastry, but I wish that we'd get to talk more about how potent this aspect can be in platonic synastry as well

♡︎. SAGITTARIUS VENUS

This placement belongs to another friend of mine. I've noticed that when she's dating people from our country she's very emotionally detached. It's almost like she doesn't even gaf about the specific guy she's dating and she's mostly talking to him just to pass the time. On the other hand she's very emotionally attached to foreigners. Honestly speaking she can only build a romantic relationship with a person that comes from another country because those are the only guys that truly pique her interest

♡︎. SCORPIO MOON

As others have said here numerous times, and as I've said here numerous times, Scorpio Moons are intense and have a vivid inner world. But, what others don't seem to mention is how hidden this inner world is. One thing that I've noticed about all of my Scorpio Moon friends is that their intensity is not visible to the naked eye. They can even come off as chill and unbothered at first glance based on their rising sign. If you want to know just how deep their heart goes, you'll have to pay attention to their words and their passions in order to see it for yourself.

(Of course, this "hidden" Scorpio Moon effect that I've noticed can be the complete opposite for people who also have a Scorpio Rising)
