Tbh I really hope media like ojisama to neko and grumpy cat will show people that adopting adult cats or ugly  cats or special needs cats is great and those cats will love you the same.

I went ahead and put the translation on the original comic, just because it’s good practice for me as I work on my own comics and art. It forces me to study how professional artists do their lettering and how they structure their text to fit with the action. I feel like I’m learning something, at least. Oh man, I’m actually tearing up a little. It seems like just the other day this was “that one cat comic” making the rounds on tumblr, that I just had to look up to learn more. I decided to take on some translations to practice both my Japanese and comic lettering, and my little fandom blog hasn’t been the same since. Thank you guys for supporting my imperfect translations, and thank you for all your awesome fanart and support of the artist! Clearly the enthusiasm for the comic hasn’t gone unnoticed. I don’t know a lot about how licensing works, but I’d hope that the fantastic reception by western fans will help the series to get an officially licensed translation (and maybe we’ll get some of that sweet Fukumaru merch as well). In the meantime, I’ll be watching closely for updates. PLEASE KEEP SUPPORTING SAKURAI-SENSEI ON [TWITTER] AND [PIXIV].
