CSP Posing Basics

There are two different kinds of control on the 3d pose dolls that allow you to manipulate the joints:

Sometimes it might seem while in FK mode that a joint isn't rotating as far as it should do. In a vast majority of cases, the problem is actually that you're rotating the wrong joint and need to go further up the chain—I specifically posed an arm lift there because the rotation of the shoulder is an oft missed part of that motion!

On occasions where it is actually wrong, or you just want to push a pose further for exaggeration, you can disable the joint rotation limit in the sub tool palette under pose! Or tweak it using the relevant IK control.

Both IK and FK mode have their uses, personally I prefer to pose things in FK mode and make adjustments with IK mode:

There's also another special control mode unique to clip studio paint, which is where you can pull the FK joints, and it will drag its parents along with it. If you right click on an FK joint, you can pin that joint in place:

It's a little bit unruly for general posing, but it can be useful for things like tails, or if the character is getting pulled a particular way, etc!

Last thing of note is that if you open the subtool palette, there is a special control just for the hands:

At the bottom are four fist modes, which one you have selected will effect how the fingers close. At the top you have locks for each individual finger, and in the center is a triangle that controls how spread apart the fingers are, and how closed the fist is.

The control will affect both hands unless you select a joint on one side of the body, in which case it'll only affect the hand on the side you have selected!
