Concert rehearsals were one of Piersâ favorite things (other than the concerts themselves). Even though the concert was hours away, the sheer anticipation was already coursing through him, leaving him a bit more energetic than normal. With the stage lights turned on and lighting up the full stage, he stood on the stage, facing the amps at the back. Switching his gaze to the electric guitar slung over his shoulder â which was plugged into the amp â he closed his eyes before giving the strings a few strums, grinning at the distorted sound that erupted from the speakers. Perfect. Just the right sound he wanted.Â
Instrument tests were quite important. The last thing he wanted was for something to be out of tune or something be only halfway plugged into the amps.Â
Opening his eyes, he let out a satisfied hum before he took off the guitar and set it back onto its stand near the back. Better take a break before testing out the microphone quality. Itâd be good to conserve his energy for the night, anyway. He then stepped offstage, heading towards the main part of the town where he began walking down the concrete path. Eventually, he spotted what looked to be a girl wandering along the street. âUhâŠÂ âey there. Yâlookinâ for somethinâ?â
At the question, she didnât think much of it. She didnât quite recognize Pierâs talking voice from matches, since she was more accustomed to hearing the man sing. So, she just responded like she would to anyone else. âEh, just lookinâ for somewhere to get some food-â Nothing much else, since she wouldnât have been in the mood to get into a big conversation with a stranger. And if he could help her? Well, that would be fine too, as long as things didnât get creepy or unhappy between them.
But, all of that changed when she finally turned around and saw who had spoken to her. Sheâd recognize such a character from a mile away, that had to be Piers. Her jaw nearly dropped at the revelation, as she realized who it was. She was really in the same area as him? She knew sheâd see him later, but not in public! Not where she was being talked to. She wanted to fangirl, quite a bit actually. But she still didnât want to embarrass herself in such a way. No, keeping her composure was probably the better route to take, especially around someone as famous as Piers.
âWait, youâre Piers- H- Holy crap- Iâm here visiting to see your concert tonight! Iâm a big fan, really- But whatâre you doing out here, wouldnât you be getting ready for tonight?â she replied all at once. She didnât mind him being here at all, but she hated that she couldnât shut up. Cool! She was supposed to be cool, and she was blowing it!
