tagged by @brightbluedot! thx! im sorry for how much murderbot is gonna be in these answers:
LAST BOOK I READ: The Reality Shaper by Sair Kaufman! it's the book version/adaption of a musical fiction podcast of the same name, and i got it at TAFCon my beloved
A BOOK I'D RECOMMEND: Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson (plus the rest of the series). it's a great murder mystery and an excellent introduction to the series. one day ernie cunningham wont be in mortal danger, but today is not that day
A BOOK I COULDN'T PUT DOWN: Network Effect by Martha Wells. famously listened to this audiobook while at work and had to experience all of the emotional turmoil internally, which caused me to vibrate ever so slightly for HOURS
A BOOK I'VE READ TWICE OR MORE: i dont reread really ever, so it makes it really really incredible that ive read (or listened to i guess) the murderbot diaries series all the way through like 7 or 8 times. 5 of those within the first month of reading. also minus platform decay which is only 2 but restarted as soon as i finished so
A BOOK ON MY TBR: Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto. this was in an instagram rec and sounded so fun!! i need to carve out time to listen to it at some point
A BOOK I'VE PUT DOWN: i think ive only fully not read one book ive started (minus curriculum books) and it was a YA fairy novel that i cant remember the name of, nor who the author was. all i remember was blue wings on a black cover, and that the writing and characters were so insufferable i couldn't stomach continuing. this was maybe 13 years ago at this point
A BOOK ON MY WISHLIST: i know this is probably about purchasing books for the bookshelf, but i'm pretty lenient about buying books for them, especially since i culled 95% of them last year so i can use the shelving for extra yarn space. SO INSTEAD: Escape from Incel Island by Margaret Killjoy. i'm waiting for ANY of my libraries to get the audiobook in!!!! the fact it's not in the LA one is actually kind of impressive bc that place has EVERYTHING
FAVORITE BOOK FROM CHILDHOOD: Fritz and the Beautiful Horses by Jan Brett. surprising no one! it's a horse book! in fact i still have my childhood copy and everything
A BOOK I'D GIVE TO A FRIEND: i have always been the friend other friends borrow books from bc my mom paid me in books to babysit my brother, so my whole library is pretty much fair game. my friend has had my first volume of mo dao zu shi for at least 2 years at this point. i say hi to it every time i go over to hang out
A BOOK OF POETRY OR VERSE I OWN: none. not really my thing
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING: nothing at the moment! im trying super hard to catch up on two months of podcasts right now and have just learned how to crochet
WHAT I PLAN ON READING NEXT: Fabulous Bodies by Chuck Tingle. these past 4 years it's been tradition to read his new queer horror book on the beach next to my religious, republican-but-not-maga family as a little teehee to myself
Tagging @magnetarmadda (make my list look rinky dinky, friend mad) @dathen @tedkordisanasshole @emberidzae and anyone else!
