I made a chair and was laughing the whole time I was sewing it because it looks so rediculous. This thing is huge, hella comfortable and fun to kick.

Two weeks to finish my plugsuit! I'm satisfied with most of my mock-ups so far so I'll be spamming progress shots soon. I'm stoked with the fabrics I've found for this project: 1: 4-way-stretch coated poly (body) 2: wicking mesh (sleeves, back panel, glove palms) 3: stretch leather-look (painfully tiny seam-lines) 4: suede-backed stretch leather-look (thigh line things) 5: stretch activewear mesh (lining) 6: neoprene (interlining for a defined raised look between the seam-lines)

Finally bought a /real/ sewing machine today. Gone are the days of having to handstitch anything thicker than 1/8", constantly sewing foot-to-floor just to sew at a reasonable pace and that shitty warn-down, plastic bobbin case that I had to de-fuck every five minutes (I swear that thing took years off my life worth of seam-ripping).

This is one of my favourite shots from the Evangelion meet-up at AniRevo last summer. This reminds me of how symbolic it is that Asuka is killed by the Mass Production Evas in EoE. Asuka's mother "replaces" her with a doll as a child so Asuka spends the rest of her life trying to assert her independence to prove shes better than a doll that passively accepts orders. She spends most of the series hung up on how much she hates Rei because Asuka sees Rei as a doll (funny enough, Rei herself is essentially a clone). To add insult to injury and secure the through-line of Asuka's character, she gets brutally dismembered by the MPEs ("piloted" by synthetic intelligence) carrying replicas of the spear of Longinus.
