Here we are, back in Tuscany with this beautiful shot that Giulia (@incricchi) took in San Quirico d’Orcia. This wonderful place is called ‘Horti Leonini’ and it’s an example of classic Italian garden that made it intact and well preserved to this day. I asked Giulia to tell me about her relationship with Italy, as well as with the subjects she chooses to depict and she told me: “Italy is tradition, family, sun. I like to capture small details that characterize a moment: a hug, even a glimpse, because everything can tell us a story.” Giulia defines herself as a person with too many ambitions for this country. She studied graphic design and tells me that she is very curious, but also very detached from the reality of her surroundings. I also asked her to define her immediate future with a few words, and she said: simplicity and intensity. She explained to me: “It’s what I would like for my life: that it could flow slowly, enjoying every moment, even with a little unconsciousness.”

Bologna Welcome invited us to depict the city through the artistic and cultural landmarks that make it known worldwide.

Bologna, known for its towers and its long arcades, has a well-preserved historical center, among the largest in Italy. It’s also an important travel hub and hosts prestigial cultural institutions; for these reasons it was “European Capital of Culture” in 2000 and “City of Music” by UNESCO in 2006.

Among its landmarks, there are its university, one of the oldest, and its film library, among the most important in Europe, striving to preserve and restore the film heritage.

There are only two laboratories in Europe that restore and preserve film. One of them is in Bologna: the Cineteca.

What if you could take a trip into the past, touch it with your hands and see that it’s still alive and leading the present? This is what happens in the Library, the portion of the Cineteca of Bologna.

It’s an extraordinary archive with over 40.000 volumes, 1.100 Italian and foreign magazines since the silent era to the present day, 18.000 audiovisuals, 200.000 film posters, over 150.000 photos.
