It truly saddens me that there are already 600 notes on this which suggests to me that people who are hurt, confused or who might feel attacked or not accepted because they struggle with homosexuality will see this and think the Bible is condoning a homosexual lifestyle. OP, youâre not giving them hope. No, you are leading them further away from freedom, further away from a life filled with love and truth.

Itâs absolutely bizarre to see the attempts of people to twist and distort the Gospel into approving homosexual acts. Â If Colbert actually said that, as a Catholic he should be ashamed for it, because many will think there is nothing wrong with homosexual acts.
Jesus did say that the foundation of marriage was that God created them male and female.
Jesus connects marriage to reproduction, stating that in heaven people are neither married nor given in marriage for they can no longer die.
Jesus condemns both sexual immorality and sensuality, and no where in scripture makes any clarification that sexual immorality is anything different than what it had always been.
The apostle Paul, called personally by Jesus, and who wrote much of the New Testament, condemns homosexual *acts* both male with male and female with female, connecting them with rejecting truth and worshipping creating things rather than God.
Paul explicitly says men who have sex with men along with adulterers, called out specifically from the sexual immoral already listed, will not inherit the kingdom of God, stating in strong terms not to be deceived on this point.
Paul condemns homosexual acts yet again, in the context of opposing false teachers.
If Paulâs authority isnât enough, Jude speaks of ungodly people perverting the grace of the Lord into a license for sexual immorality and then connects this to the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah, whose punishment serves as an example for those who will suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
From the succeeding centuries, we have the witness of not only countless Christians, but Saints, Doctors of the Church and Popes to the same effect.
For a Christian, for someone who believes scripture to be inspired by God, to see all this and not a single sentence fragment even hinting at homosexual actions not being sexually immoral, it simply isnât possible to take any view other than the orthodox view. Â Look, Iâm a sinner myself, and I hate it, but the cure isnât to pretend sin isnât sin. Â It does me no good for others to say that my sin isnât really sin, for that only helps keeps me enslaved to it. Â We need to come to Christ, in repentance, and pray that he grants us the grace to follow him, to become Saints. Â This is what I pray for myself, and for everyone. Â
Can you imagine how much homosexual activists would hang their hat on even one pro-homosexuality quote with the strength of any of the examples above if it existed? Â I would invite them to imagine how ridiculous it would look if they could pull seven pro-homosexuality quotes from the New Testament, along with Old Testament support and the authority of twenty centuries of Saints, only to see orthodox writers trying to imply that homosexual acts were sins after all, but Iâm afraid their heads might explode.

Meghan Murphy has a post she wrote for rabble arguing against Planned Parenthoodâs dehumanizing use of the word âmenstruatorsâ to describe women censored without notice or explanation. When pressed, she finally got a response claiming the post includes âtransphobic language.â To date no one has explained exactly what that âtransphobic languageâ was. She quit in protest.

There are so many open threats of violence made against trans-critical people, particularly against lesbians and/or radical feminists, that I cannot list them all. So Iâll summarize instead:
WITHDRAWAL OF SUPPORT
Transactivists are known to threaten to withdraw support for feminist causes/organizations if they fail to openly pledge allegiance to transgender ideology. Many such organizations are in desperate need of social support and funding, so they donât have much of a choice except to go along with what transactivists tell them to say. The message is clear: âYour rights are important, but validating my beliefs is more important.â

SOCIAL MEDIA PHASE-OUTS
Ask ANY radical /gender critical/trans critical feminist, and they will tell you: we get deleted, harassed, banned and blocked more than anyone. Many of us have lost real-life friends over trans-critical Facebook posts or even for asking questions. It seems that transactivists patrol Facebook for the slightest hint of âtransphobiaâ so they can pile-on and virtue-signal what a Good Trans Ally they are.

TERF BLACKLISTS Transactivists on Tumblr often make lists of alleged âTERFsâ and command their followers not to engage with, or reblog anything from, people on the lists. Some examples:

DIE CIS SCUM This is a popular slogan in transactivists circles. Transactivists argue that their use of this slogan is okay because âtheyâre more oppressed than cis people.â As you can see in the picture below, itâs a very threatening slogan, especially when tattooed on the body of a male holding a baseball bat.

Father, why did the Church support fascist regimes like Franco's and Mussolini's? Now, I know the Church did eventually start working against Mussolini, but why did they initially support the two dictators?

The support extended to these Fascist regimes was never in the form of moral approval of what they were doing, but in the form of some kind of cooperation that would lessen the damage done to the rights of the Church.
In the case of General Francisco Franco, the Church was dealing with a man who had overthrown an atheistic, savage, and brutal government whose hatred of religion was seen in the way they conducted the Civil War in Spain.Â
The Socialists who fought Franco claimed to be legitimately elected, which they were, but upon assuming power, they did not control violence but promoted it as a way of pushing Communism into the country. This is why they were allied with Soviet Russia, and pillaged the treasury of Spain, shipping much gold off to Moscow.
As Franco moved from victory to victory, the Socialists carried out numerous war crimes and acts of retribution against all people seen as sympathetic with Franco. Villages were burned and people massacred in whole as Francoâs army approached.
The Church itself took the brunt of the Socialistsâ wrath, with numerous churches being burned, and thousands of bishops, priests, and devout Catholics being shot without trial or jury. Franco imposed a severe and lethal martial law when Spain fell to his armies, but the country at least had a chance to enjoy peace and the end of lawlessness. Franco was especially generous and kind to the Church, which rallied the people to support his efforts, not because he was a dictator, but because he represented law, order and tranquility after so much violence and death perpetrated upon innocent civilians.
The Catholic Church in Spain was given a privileged place in law under Francoâs regime, with all other religions publicly banned and even blasphemy against Jesus and Mary carrying a jail sentence. Those caught, tried, and found guilty of murder, rape, and other capital crimes were executed within 72 hours. Was justice too severe under Franco in Spain? Perhaps so. Was the Church too enthusiastic to collaborate with his dictatorial regime? Perhaps.
But take into account that the Church has always favored law and order, and the protection of the innocent. Crime in Spain under Franco was almost non-existent. Women and children could walk the streets of large cities at 2 in the morning and fear no mugging, rape, and death, so extensive was the police force, and the watchful eye of the secret police. Believe it or not, some people did not mind the repression of the regime in exchange for the almost total peace of mind and security it provided. Now, Spain is âfreeâ and you can be mugged and raped at any hour and the criminals are hardly caught, much less sent to prison.
In the case of Benito Mussolini, you have to remember the context that the Church was practically without any rights, or voice, or vote, after the fall of the Papal States to the armies of Garibaldi. When Mussolini came to power, he wanted to make peace with the Church and grant it an official status in Italy.
The rights conferred by the Mussolini regime allowed Catholic schools and colleges to operate freely, allowed religious orders to once again manage their funds and properties without governmental interference, and allowed for an active participation of Catholics in the political process, limited as that was under the dictatorship.
Under both regimes, the Church was completely at the mercy of the fascist regimes that had seized power. The Church could be hostile to these regimes and cause further loss of the rights of the faithful, or cooperate with them and assure at least some rights on paper. The Church chose to cooperate with them, in order to assure that Catholics would not be shut out and deprived of the opportunities to work within these nations and be a voice for change insofar as that was possible. I hope this context makes the Churchâs collaboration somewhat understandable, even if it is not the ideal mode of operating under fascism. God bless and take care! Fr. Angel
