sora doesn’t know himself . when it comes to teenage development , ages 15-18 are so important . those are the high school years , the years they’re starting to question the things going on in the world around them , many start dating , friendships & sibling relationships are really important . they hit puberty , they’re growing , and their heads are just kinda all over the place and it’s important to have consistency & a schedule & a good support system around them .
sora spent those years with a good support system of mainly donald and goofy . he made friendships all over the galaxy , sure , but we all know the most important friendships to him were riku & kairi . he was separated from them for a large majority of those years , didn’t have a consistent home outside of the gummi ship where he slept restlessly and for usually less than 5 hours at a time .
he missed out on the years where he should’ve been in high school , figuring out his passions in life , if there were any areas of study he’d want to pursue , developing crushes and feelings of love & figuring out the difference between love & lust & just thinking someone is attractive . he didn’t figure out he’s bi until age 18 , and even now he’s still somewhat questioning himself on that .
there were so many things sora missed out on . when he returned to the island that final time & got back to something of a normal life , school & friends weren’t the first thing he thought of , hell they weren’t even the fifth thing he thought about . he had to make sure there was no crazy threats looming over the worlds & making sure those he cared about were safe & going on missions & recovering from major anxiety , ptsd , and depression .
sora might think he knows himself in some ways , but the only things he really knows are that he saves people with the keyblade , he might have a crush at the same time on his two best friends , he’s terrified to die again , and he has to be optimistic and a hero and someone to look to for reassurance for the rest of his life . he couldn’t tell you his favorite music , or form of entertainment , or if he hates everything about school or if he could ever see himself starting a family . if you ask him his hobbies , he’d tell you he doesn’t really have any because he doesn’t . he spends all his time looking out for others & helping people . favorite food ? whatever he can come by when he gets the chance to eat on the road . he doesn’t have opinions on big things because the only things he’s been concerned with these last few years are defeating xehanort or any big bad , surviving , finding his friends , and figuring out what the next right step is to saving kingdom hearts and the worlds .
sora doesn’t know himself . he doesn’t 100% realize this . maybe he doesn’t really want to ? or maybe he just genuinely doesn’t realize that there are so many other things outside of keyblades & darkness & light & kingdom hearts .
so we’re just not gonna talk about how ven woke up from a 10 year nap and then went STRAIGHT INTO WAR like … we’re not gonna mention that ?

so like we’re just not gonna mention that ? and we’re not gonna mention how after wayfinder trio finally made it home and got to be together in peace , how they all probably exchanged stories , cried , addressed the things that happened in bbs , and the last 10 years , and also getting over the loss of master eraqus for ven is still fresh bc he didn’t know he was dead until he saw his fuckin GHOST AFTER HE FOUGHT IN A WHOLE ASS WAR ???? holy shit . holy shit i’m getting myself FIRED UP RN we’re relaly not talking about it now
