rue's got like, a boatload of problems and it kind of depends on who she's around in terms of like, how that plays out. like she's kind of a low key user sometimes, like that's not that she doesn't love the people around her, it's just that there's definitely this mental block for rue where's like you're there, or you're like. her fucking favourite person in the world in that moment. and it's kind of intense, like, brutally so, and it really like, can be a moment that switches it or it's full on from the moment she meets them.
there's a few where over the years it's like, omg these people have built rue, like, @sunxsin is always someone that comes to mind since we've written them for 4 years or something, like that girl is alive around him, or like @depictedmorada who i've written rue with about 4 years now too!? s2 baby! but like they've been a huge part of crafting rue and growing through all the years and making her feel like she has, you know, a home of people around her. gonna throw in @griefkill because we just had a moment of holy fuck, that's rue's sister, we've written like a bunch since 2017, but rue and elena really flipped so well together, and you can tell rue knows who her ride or die are through the years because urgh, yeah. yeah. good or bad, those girls have each other. of course big shout outs to @hurtslikeyoudo who has played so many muses with rue, but like, we're always cooking some bullshit up since the moment we met. again, that's another 4 years right there. wish i had a lexi but who knows, maybe her new one will be whoever's reading this!!

rue is someone who's just full of nervous habits. she's plucking at her sleeves, she's biting her nails, she's dragging at her nail beds, and yes, biting her lips, and sometimes not combing her hair out right. like, in the show, you really see thees moments where she just falls apart beneath the weight of all her mental health problems, and her mom has to like, bathe her and brush her hair and get her back on medication. she suffers from anxiety, and a host of other things, so she's kind of always like, painfully aware of what's going on around her out of habit, and part of why rue serves as the show's unreliable narrator. at least in my mind over here!!! ( delulu, we know )
