4 years on.
Jan 2014 : broke and jobless with no way to pay the student loan i took for my post-grad studies
Dec 2014 : got a job at an MNC for usd4.5k but was worked to my bones.
Fast forward to today (July 2018)..
I've just started on a Regional role with more responsibilities yet feel accomplished. I get to travel 50% of the time and the cherry on top? I get a whooping 44% pay increment compared to 4 years ago.
Did i do anything different over the course of 4 years? I don't think so, except for holding onto a grateful mindset.
I was grateful for each learning experience, good or bad.
I was grateful for every person who came into my life. I reconnected with neglected friends and family.
I was grateful for each pay cheque and even every bill i had to pay.
I was grateful for being able to pay for my parents' expenditures, medical bills and whatnots.
Yes it was not easy being grateful for the bad days at work or the scheming, cunning people you meet at work. Even watching my bank acct balance being reduced after paying for an expensive hearing aid for my dad, made me go into a panic mode for a few hours.
But i am still here. I have grown stronger (so has my bank balance!). Gratitude is the least anyone should have in their hearts, minds.
