“Here here!”
“This is a terrible club for you to join, but welcome---”
“Wait. Why are you two toasting to unrequited love?”
“Call out to all my fellow unrequited love sufferers, who wish the object of their affection wasn’t as dense as they are perfect. I propose a toast of alcohol and some self isolation.”
Would it be at all surprising if Music forgot Mewmas was a thing?
Because he totally forgot Mewmas was a thing.

“Non, I’ve never seen one before, so I wouldn’t know. Is it anysing like a PokéNav zough? I do ‘ave one of zose, zough I can’t really use it all zat well.” She usually had to have someone do stuff on it for her. Making basic calls was pretty much all she could do. Didn’t hep that she couldn’t really read well either. “I sink PokéNavs ‘ave a GPS… I’ve never been able to use it on mine zough.” She started digging into one of her pockets, pulling out a red device that doubled as Hoenn’s version of the PokéGear. “Do you know ‘ow to put it on zis?”
Haru bit down on his lip, conflicted. She didn’t know about Holocasters, didn’t seem comfortable with GPS, but looked like she could be no older than he was. A second later, his conflicts were solved by an amused laugh. This was a funny person.
“ Here, I can show you. “ Haru chuckled. “ I used to have a PokeNav myself. I upgraded to a Holocaster a few years ago. “
To illustrate the difference, he held out his green Holocaster for her to see. “ You an old fashioned person? “

Haru was no good at grocery runs. Robert could give him a shopping list, sew an extra list into his sleeve, glue the list to the back of his sunglasses, and Haru would still mess up. Usually on purpose, since the two men had different ideas of what food to cook.
Today, Haru’s modified shopping list included visiting a bakery. He figured that he could buy a cupcake or something to sweeten Robert up. Maybe earn some forgiveness. Problem was, Haru knew that his own tastes were nothing like Robert’s. Robert had a sweet tooth, where Haru liked bitter things. He needed help.
“ Do you buy sweets here often? “ He asked a younger looking patron, then pointing towards the display case. “ Got any recommendations? “

“ Sunshine! Treats! Z-Moves! Executor! Oddish! “
“Hooo..Maybe I’ll go to Alola next? Maybe Sinnoh….Dragon choices…”
“ Alola! It’s a good season to go. Escape the winter weather for some sunshine! “

Tamera froze and blinked.
“ ‘o… lo… cas…ter? What is a ‘olocaster? I ‘ave a PokéNav, mais it doesn’t work very well.” Actually, it probably worked fine, it was herself that didn’t work very well. She also couldn’t read. Or use the GPS function… like, at all. Basically if it used technology or written words she was pretty much useless… and likely to break something.
“ You don’t know what a Holocaster is? “ Haru clarified, dumbfounded. Was she joking? Should he laugh? If it was a joke, then she was not very good at selling her humor. PokeNavs were pretty old school, in his opinion. And when he acknowledged that she had a PokeNav instead, it dawned on him that she really might not know what a Holocaster was.
" ... Okay. I can give the address to put in your GPS...? “ Please say she could use the GPS. He didn’t want to give up a physical map... Those were hard to come by!

When Haru got into the work zone, he often lost track of time. And that zone could be his new mental home for days. He had been working nonstop and finally broke out of focus when he realized he was hungry. The natural thing to do was to head to his favorite cafe to grab a bite... but he had completely forgotten that it was a Friday. There was no seating, and he really didn’t want to go back to his office.
At least there was someone alone at a table. She looked like a quiet person... maybe someone he wouldn’t have to talk to, even if he sat at her table. More selfish than friendly, Haru walked over with his coffee and sandwich.
“ The other half of the table free? I forgot how popular this place is. “

The moment she walked in the building, she got the feeling that it wasn’t the right one. Not only did it look nothing like the Ranger Station, but the people inside weren’t wearing any version of the uniform.
She paused a moment, feeling very embarrassed because really would it kill the Association to send her a map instead of written directions (the was the current topic Raios was yelling at them about, so hopefully that’d get better soon, but…)
“Euh, désolée, sorry, mais you wouldn’t know where ze Ranger Station is in zis city would you? I’m not good wis written directions and I got lost. … Clearly.
Haru had been bored out of his mind. Part of his job included a lot of paper pushing, as much as he hated it. He found himself chained to the desk by chains of e-mail replies and documents to sort through. So when someone entered the building, Haru didn’t see a disturbance: He saw a distraction.
And he welcomed her.
“ Ranger Station? Yeah, sure! I can send the address to your Holocaster? “ He offered. Immediately assuming that everyone used tech.

Kuroneko Satou had a lot on her plate. Between being a competitive Pokemon trainer, a mother of 900, and spiritual guardian of 900 more, she had a lot to handle. And in between all of that, she worked alongside Haru Dan as an assistant to his private detective business.
For the first time in months, she was actually at his office too! Collapsed comfortably in his spinny chair with her feet on the desk, and watching him pace thoughtfully around the room. Also, of course, listening to his briefing.
" I’ve been digging around with our resources, and we’ve unearthed a bit more on what happened to Yoshiya. “ Haru explained, walking in a large circle around the office, ” As we expected, it did have ties to the research revolving around Kyoko. “
” So it’s the Fated Project. “ Satou concluded. Kyoko Dan was Haru’s clone; a girl created from the Sacred Child of Mew, in order to create a suitable Sacred Child for Mewtwo. If that research had continued on as planned, it would have resulted in an ability to mass produce Sacred Children and Patrons.

" Not exactly. " Haru interjected, " That's why I called you here today. When I was learning what happened to him… Well… I think we found more. "
Satou's spirits rose, then fell. As eager as she was to know what had happened to Yoshiya-- and also, her own children,-- she didn't like hearing it was still going on.
" Okay… Well, Boss Man. Start at the top. Let's learn. "
Haru noted her tone change. No humor this time. He knew that she was deeply disturbed by everything that was happening. The Fated Project all revolved around capturing and controlling Satou, after all… and when she proved too powerful to confine, they had moved on to children. Naturally, she was guilt ridden over the target changing.
