Amelie had been staring at the same page for what felt like hours. She wanted to read her book after her excursion to Café Introversion, but even two days later her mind kept wandering back to her newly-made friend, Erica. Ever since she got back to the library that day, she couldn’t get the blonde girl out of her head, and she’d been distracted ever since. She couldn’t even escape to her favorite pastime of reading because she kept getting lost in her thoughts, and she’d find herself reading over the same paragraph over and over, like a broken record player.
“I never thought I’d find myself wishing for the Ghost Boy to come back to the library for a day,” she muttered to herself, using the nickname she’d given to Morgan not long after meeting him (without his knowledge, of course - Arceus forbid he take that as a cheeky term of endearment if she called him that in front of him). At least he might be distracting enough for her to get her head on straight so she could focus again.
She vainly tried to read through the passage one more time, but thoughts of beautiful blonde hair and a perky personality plagued her thoughts again, and she soon gave up, marking her place in her book and closing it with an audible huff. She was torn between being irritated that she couldn’t focus on reading, and a strange fluttery feeling at the thought of seeing Erica again…
Amelie shook her head to clear it. Perhaps she could focus on something more productive.
“Did I remember to sort the books in that one Fiction section…?”
