I can't update this blog, i'm too busy having the best time of my life to talk about it, ahah xD Everyday is full of fun, new experiences, beautiful places, amazing people, crazy shopping, new discoveries and even yummy food :) I don't really know how people have the time/patience/dedication to blog about their life daily. I really wanted to keep a record of these days but i just can't T.T'.

So i'm in Korea

Took the bus from 인천 to 청량리 and even if i was really sleepy i got so excited, everything was shining bright with lights everywhere and i didn't know where to look at. Seoul is beautiful. After scouting our friend with the super awesome ISO students to the uni dorm me and Milù took the subway to 영등포 where our hostel was located. At that time we were still clueless about all the shit we would go throught for the following days :). The thing is that there's too many girls, we don't all fit in the on-campus dorm, se some of us got assigned to a newly built dorm outside the campus that wasn't still ready for us to enter. They told us to stay in the hostel ( so far from uni) for 3 days and that they would move us to the new dorm. Ahahah. SURE. After that 3 days passed they told us that the dorm wasn't ready yet and that they would move us to a closer hostel. THE HORROR. little box-like-rooms with no windows. Horribly smelly and dirty ( on my wall there was even a blood stain ): ) . Some of us girls didn't really want to stay 1 minute more in that shitty place so we moved again to another hostel on our own. I've been living with my friend Milù and other 2 girls in this hostel, located in 혜화 for the past week and we were supposed to finally move into the dorm today. BUT GUESS WHAT? :D STILL.NOT.READY. They will allow us to go there tomorrow but we will not have the kitchen and washing machine yet. Some workers will come and install them in our rooms while we're in class on monday or tuesday. Fortunately we will get a refund for all the money we spent to stay in hostels etc. I feel really frustrated because having a permanent place you can call HOME is really important, and everyday was so fun and incredible (meeting other students, both international and korean, visiting amazing places and enjoy the perfect weather) but i couldn't live it to the fullest because i felt really insecure and uneasy. It's not funny to be in a foreign country for almost 2 weeks and change your house 4 times...all while being unable to open your suitcases becuase there's no actual space to do so :\. I hope that since tomorrow things will start to go well, i've been really patient even if i felt treated like shit actually. Next post is going to be full of happy things, i hope! ^-^

not dead

I wrote this the day before departing, but i posted it on the wrong blog and noticed just right now ^^':

The excitement has been shadowed from tecnical problems and goodbyes. I’m used to goodbyes but it still hurts. Yesterday i went out with my dear friends one last time and i’m going to miss them a lot ><  also right now papa woke me up before going to work. We hugged and he gave me lots of kisses. I still feel all around me his coffee and perfume scent. Papa ㅠㅠ Now i’ll try to sleep some more and say goodbye to mamma and my brother at the airport. I’m gonna cry. Italiana mammona e cocca di papá. Bohoo D: ~~~~~~~~~~

As expected i cried but not that much actually, i also felt really sad to say goodbye to my dear friend Arianna, i wanted her to come with me ;_;. Also i saw, after a lot of time of being "awkward" with each others another good friend of mine, and it was really sad that we met just before leaving...well better late than never i guess. The travel from Rome to Dubai went quite smoothly and Emirates it's a really good company, lots of entertainment and quite good food! But holy shit, the flight from Dubai (awesome airport btw *-*) to Incheon made me feel really sick and i couldn't sleep at all. All my body hurted and i started to smell bad T_T'. I couldn't even watch a movie ): .

Right now i'm in a small village 1 hour from Rome, next week i'll be in Seoul. It seems impossible! I'm starting to panic about packing all the stuff i need, since i'll stay here until sunday and i'll have just 1 day to prepare everything @_@. Also, i've been assigned to a different "off campus" housing since the dorm i applied for is full. I don't mind it because it's near the university and i'll have my own kitchen and laundry, but i still don't know who i'll share my room with and the details about this new "dorm"...it would be cool to know how and with whom i'm going to live for the next 3 months -_-. I'm praying everyday to be paired up with my friend from my same course, sharing what it seems to be a little appartment with a stranger is not something a wish for actually ^^'' ... Well, i hope everything will be ok!

Last step:

Yesterday i came back from Spain and said goodbye to my boyfriend, i can't belive i will hug him again in december. I'm here sweating with the windows open and i will see him with christmas decorations and wearing a knit. So unreal. I'm used to being in a long distance relationship but we usually meet every month and stay together during vacations but the fate wanted the both of us to have our dream-travels in the same time >.<. He's going to be in Japan for 1 month ( august) and just when he will be coming back to Europe, i'll take my airplane to Seoul, talk about tempism >_>'. Gotta be strong and think about the positive and exciting stuff for the both of us! And speaking of positive stuff: Just one more step and all the paperwork for my stay in Korea will be done, yeah! Tomorrow i'm going to the korean embassy and apply for a VISA! ( annoying because you can go without it for 90 days and i'm going to stay for 100 days :°D). \o/ august be good to me and go FAAAAAST~~~

Oh yeah!!!! \o/ Today was awesome! This morning i did the last exam for this session and i passed it with a grade soooooo much better than i would have never expected! After that i paid a visit to my uni office and they gave me the letter of acceptance from 외대! I can't believe that from now on i will not have to study about chinese dinasties anymore T_T i'm free!! my hard work paid off! Q_Q So well, tomorrow i'm flying to Spain to see my boyfriend (Long distance relationship) for the last time before Korea ;___; i can't believe we will meet again in december...don't want to think about the moment we will say goodbye, gotta be strong and think about all the positive stuff >_<. Now i got sad ;_; BOOO

In less than two months i'm going to Korea, but i still have to settle lots of things, very important things!! I booked my flight,  applied for the university and for the 기숙사 but i still have to pick the admission paper at my university, get the scholarship money and go to the korean embassy to get a visa...so much to do and so little time T_T i'm still studying hard for an exam and working part time, so everyday is so full and i'm stressing so much over EVERYTHING, that i'm starting to lose hair -_-' ...ugh. And i still have to buy a good giant trolley and i don't know if i'll be able to bring all the stuff i want T_T... i need my beloved clothes and shoes and the curling iron too!

oh so you are like advanced level. interesting. by the way im korean. is korean easy for you guys? because i think if i werent korean, korean would be the last language to learn. because it is difficult !

i wish i was advanced level T_T i actually have to train my speaking ability ( hope to do a lot of that once in korea) because i mostly write and read in korean >.<...I wouldn't say that korean is difficult, hangul and the grammar itself isn't that problematic, the biggest problem, at least for us italians, is that we have totally different sentence structures so our brains have to adapt to "think in korean". I wouldn't study italian too :D maybe we find our own languages too difficult because we know too much about them? XD

what is hankuk university? i dont think we have that kind of university in korea.

Hello everyone! 여러분 안녕 하세요!

My name is Francesca, i'm 23 years old from Rome, Italy. I've been studying korean for 3 years at La Sapienza University,  i've won a scholarship to attend Hankuk University of Seoul as an exchange student and i'll be in Seoul for about 3 months. I decided to make this blog to keep a journal of my days in Korea, as a memory for myself, to keep updated friends back at home, to improve my english skills and to share my experience with everyone on tumblr! :D

I'm also an extremely picky eater so this blog is going to be about my struggles and adventures with korean food :P Expect lots of wordy posts, pictures, videos, fun and rants about korean language intensive studying! ㅋㅋ ♡ In Korea from 27th August ~ 5th December ♡ 잘 지내요~
