Do you have any tips for hair? I cut my hair short like 6 months ago and it’s right above my shoulders, but with the whole Ed it takes longer since my hair isn’t as healthy. So I’m just curious if you have any tips for hair growth + getting healthier hair overall. I love your blog a lot, hope you have a nice day 💕
Hii, thank you sm! ♥ Also sorry for the late reply, I just had some tough time recently.
Yes of course I have tips for this one! My hair was once thin and in poor condition when I had raging ED and didn't take proper care of my hair, so there are some things that actually helped me to strengthen it and get new baby hair (while still having raging ED lmao). There you go:
Take your supplements. It's very important to provide your body with the necessary vitamins and minerals in the form of supplements if your diet is poor (I think I noticed the biggest difference in the condition of my hair and the amount of new baby hair when I got serious about my supplements and started taking them daily, so please do it).
Eat enough protein. You see, hair is primarily made up of a protein called keratin, so a lack of protein in the diet will most likely lead to hair loss and thinning. When you eat protein, your body breaks it down into amino acids which are then used to build new cells, including hair cells. If you don't get enough protein, your body rations the protein it does have, so less go towards hair growth.
Avoid doing things that damage your hair like heat styling (if you really have to, use something like heat protection spray), hot water (it should be lukewarm), sleeping with wet hair and rubbing wet hair with a towel (your hair is more prone to breakage when wet).
Massage your scalp regularly!!! I can't stress this enough, it improves blood circulation -> really makes your hair grow faster. Feels good too.
Wear protective hairstyles.
Trim your hair once in a while. Might seem counterintuitive but regular trims help minimize split ends which lead to breakage. I also just feel like my hair looks 100x better and healthier once it's trimmed.
Try to avoid stress. Seems impossible, ik, but high stress levels often lead to hair loss and slow hair growth, so do your best to manage stress through exercise, meditation or other techniques.
Good luck dear! ♥
