ID: The Secret of St Kilda art consisting of a pencil outline of the St Kilda isles, including smaller islands, and stories taken from the podcast. The islands themselves are left empty whilst the sea is filled with quotes written in blue pen, many letters getting half cut off by the shoreline. End ID.

St Kilda sits isolated - a small refuge sequestered in the cold reaches of the North Sea. Her fog covered foothills hide secrets both old and new. Some are remembered by those who carve out a living on her strange shores, but most of them are forgotten... waiting to be discovered.
Before land and sea lay divided, from the chaos itself, light and dark was created. Initially these two brothers worked in tandem, carving life from stone of the earth. From the sand of the world, they sculpted those that fly, swim and walk. However, too soon, Solasaich became jealous of his brother. For everything that was made, Dubrach would improve on, adding to each creation his wisdom and cunning. When Solasaich made man, he blinded them with his light, forcing them to slave in hot sun and worship him. He exposed every secret with his radiant temper. Man could do nothing by himself. Dubrach the cunning was overcome with pity. He looked upon man and wished to elevate them. He saw their creativity mirrored his own. First, he created the night to hide them from his brother. Then, he wove clouds from the sky to allow them to see. And, in his final triumph, he created death and the seas to swallow them up when their toil was over. When Solasaich saw his worshippers turning away from his harsh light, he created a prison of earth for his brother, forcing him to watch all those he loved turn back to sand. The light burned every mention of the dark, leaving him rotting and forgotten. But cunning Dubrach was not to be forgotten. He whispered his name in the secret places, waiting to be found. And he leads us to find him and bring him back!
There, in the harsh light of the morning, watching the wash of the night before slowly back into its endless sea, you feel a strange sensation. A prickling of something begging, begging to be noticed. It’s as if this moment was a stone, beginning its journey down a hillside, during which it would only increase in size and velocity as it picks up the debris around it. We do not know where our stone is rolling, but we know we must watch it alone.
A long time ago, when the world was new, Hirta was shrouded in mists, kept secret from the world. But, though Dubrach was powerful, he was lonely with only his brother for company, Solasaich. So, Dubrach put his hand into the mud and built himself a friend, we call the First Follower. The First Follower and Dubrach became best friends immediately! But, after hundreds of years, the First Follower started to get tired of the island. They asked Dubrach if they could leave. Dubrach's heart broke, but he loved the First Follower so much that he let them go. So, Dubrach took the mist and tore off a tiny piece, so small only those who were really looking would be able to find it. The First Follower stepped out from the tear and was never seen again. Dubrach was very sad. So, Dubrach pulled away from the world. He revealed the island, but wore the mists like a cloak instead. He decided he'd never let anyone close enough to hurt him again. Currently we love Dubrach from afar, but it's said that one day someone special will find the tear, and we'll become like the First Follower did, living on Hirta together with him, and no one will have to be sad or lonely ever again.
The story goes that Solasaich became too proud after pushing his brother away, and became harsh with humanity. So the children of Hirta prayed to Dubrach and they [text (partially) cut off from here] were answered in dreams. Dubrach helped us trap Solasaich, but when my ancestor looked at what they had done he became afraid in Solasaich’s sight. And Solasaich burned out his eyes! And henceforth each member of the line has suffered Solasaich's wrath. The price of looking upon him all those years ago.
