I've been trying, for the past 48 h hours, to put words on what I feel. When they announced the attacks, I felt bad, like any other person following the events. But when they announced the hostage taking at the show, I completely broke down. I had those selfish thoughts : What if I had been there, shooting the show ? What if my friends are there ? but I'm lucky. I wasn't at any of the attacks, none of my friends were hurt or worst, so why am I so deeply hurt and broken ? I feel guilty to feel this bad, when others lost friends, family or got hurt. But here's the thing. I'm doing music photography because I want to share with the world those magical moments that are shows. All those people gathering for the unique love of music. Those happy moments. Those few hours of pure happiness. Shows are my happy place. They are where I feel home, they are home in a way. My dream is to tour with bands, and shoot shows all around the world. Now I get it. They attacked my happy moment. They attacked everybody's happy moment. Drinking a beer on a friday night. Going to a sport event. Walking in the streets. Yes, I was scared. I was terrorised. I thought I could never go back to a show without thinking about this night, without being scared. But if I let the fear creep in me, those monsters win. And I refuse to let them win. So instead of sharing awful photos or videos of the attack, I decided to share with you photos of those happy moments. I want to remind you what they are and will always be, happy moments. Listen to the governement instructions for your safety, but don't let fear win. For now, it's time for us to mourn or victims and our beautiful city that got hurt. When we'll be ready, we'll enjoy life again. We'll go to shows again, drink beer on friday nights and walk in the streets at night. Let's show them they failed. Let's show them how stuborn french people are. Let's show them how beautiful Paris is. Now it's time for safety and mourning. But we will shine again, brighter than ever. Not Broke, Just Bent.
