Poor Katherine Howard. She was just a kid. Abused again and again, just to be killed before she’s even 20.

None of the wives deserved what Henry did to them.

Though Katherine and Anne, I think got the worst of it. Cousins that were killed the same.

Katherine’s song was absolutely heartbreaking. The masking she does to being sexually abused since she was like 12, just to breakdown when she finally realizes that it’s never going to be different. Just to get her head cut off.

What to put in your hellenic journal and why it helps

Building a kharis with gods using a religious journal is really helpful. It helped me keep my information and my thoughts related to the Gods organized. It can also help beginners if they are uncomfortable reciting hymns out loud.

What could be put inside it:

Every day write one delphic maxim and write how you interpret it or what you think about it

Make a shopping list for your altar and offerings

Compose prayers

Hymns/ prayers to your patrons and Hestia, Nyx, Helios, Hypnos

Write something as if you are conversating with the Gods.

Important information on deities

Favorite offerings, incenses, and libations of the Gods

Important Callendar events, festivals, and key info on celebration

Quotes from the most famous books of Gods that you relate to or want to remember

Instructions on composing prayers

What afterlife means in Hellenismos

What defines hubris, agos and miasma

Please note - though I myself am not a spirit worker, I’ve done enough research and seen enough of other people’s personal stories to say this: spirit work is not always light and fluffy and happy (obviously it can be, but not all the time). Spirits are not all willing to work with you peacefully - some are even downright rude or aggressive. How can you be a Hellenic polytheist and say,

"Wow, I hate Zeus and his family"

Who tf are you worshipping then...who?

Zeus is not who people think he is. He and Hera used to be the model of a marriage. Hera was a patron for each aspect of marriage: widow, married, pre marriage, you name it, and she ruled over it. Zeus was the male who ruled over the completed marriage and mens role on society. Women were meant to married in Athens, Men were meant to be apart of society and so together, Hera and Zeus back then represented a complete marriage, which sadly proposed a complex stigmatized view in today's day and age. The cheating wasn't cheating. It was Greece using their grasp to create descriptions on why certain people places and ideas belonged to them. As you can see in myths, people call Poseidon and Zeus cheaters, yet they both were kings, and both of them had to help Greece and Proto Greece stake their claims over places they wanted or did dominate. It's like a modern day bragging almost....

So no, hating Zeus is dumb. It means you can't leave behind a view of a deity that is wrong, misused, and battering to a religion. How can you call yourself a Hellenic polythiest if you don't respect the views of its main god?
