I love the weirdly specific rules that go with answering a riddle. Like, “I Have Two Eyes But I Cannot See: What Am I?” And the answer’s supposed to be the word ‘iridescent’ because ‘two *i*’s’ right, but like. Why can’t the answer be like… A guy with really bad cataracts. Someone wearing a blindfold. My uncle’s dog. Like why does it gotta be deep

The snow on Gael Vamar was unlike anything Jamie had ever seen. It had come almost without warning, the bright blue sky blotted out by an army of grey-white flecks within a matter of minutes.
Getting back to the TARDIS - and finding the Doctor, whichever came first - would have to wait, for the moment. A cavern nearby offered some welcome shelter, a place to wait until the raging snowstorm passed– though there was little in the way of warmth.
“Hope the Doctor isnae out there right now,” Jamie pondered, through chattering teeth. He settled down against the wall of the cavern, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Zoe, and pulled his knees up against his chest. “Ye alright?”

No time was wasted in collecting twigs from the little pile Jamie had collected - they were fed onto the fire one by one until the flame brightened, the soft orange glow alleviating some of the gloom of their makeshift shelter.
“We’ve got enough wood tae keep this going for….. six, mibbe seven hours, I reckon?”
Long enough for the Doctor to find them. Hopefully.
Zoe heard the unspoken fear –it entered her thoughts at the same time. What if six hours wasn’t enough? What if…
She shook her head, kneeling beside Jamie and holding her hands out to the flame, though it only warmed her palms when she brought them very close.
“Well… there’ll be more time after it goes out, if it manages to heat this place. Rock and even snow are insulating materials… so we ought to be alright. I think.”
She didn’t like uncertainty. The ground was hard under her knees and the cold crowded in around them and she really was a long way from the controlled environments she grew up in.
Zoe stared at the little flame and shivered.

That’s all beside the fact that she tends to overestimate the power of knowledge. While she’s brilliant and has ingenuity it tends to revolve around mathematics and technology, leaving her often a little out of depth in other fields.
