one of my principles of social interaction is "dont be a dick to someone who's worst crime is being annoying and not understanding social cues" because i know firsthand how much that sucks. unfortunately this means that i'm not a dick to people who i just find kind of annoying when a lot of other people are and then they try to be friends with me (because im not a dick to them) (but i still dont really want to be friends)

trans people of tumblr please help me. how do I tell my friends I would prefer to be called by a particular name without sounding like a dick? it's not for gender reasons (i think lmao) but it's still something that I want, y'know?

The situation is that they all first met me with this name as a Nickname- and then "earned the right" to call me by my birth name or whatever. but now I would like to go back to being Blue forever, please. how do I tell them without making them feel like they've done something wrong or aren't like, as special to me?

the easiest route is that the one person in the group that follows my tumblr sees this and goes "o fuk" and passes it around. but that doesn't feel ethical. it ain't her responsibility
