  CONCERNING    THE    COMICS ;   vicky  mantle  is  very  self  aware  that she  is  hardly  at home,  or when she is at home, she is an adamant leaver of sticky notes rather than  calling  her children to let them know she won’t be home  due  to herself  and richard  constantly  going  to  charity galas and  important dinners  to raise  money  for events etc  especially making appearances and such.   EVERY CHILD  NEEDS  THEIR  PARENTS  and   vicky  doesn’t  really realize  how  much  her absence affected reggie in the beginning  (   in reggie  &  me  ,  there’s a panel  of  reggie  looking for  richard and instead he finds himself in a empty home,  seeing the sticky  note  that vicky  left  for him and ends up making a sandwich at the table and crying.  it’s arguable that the absence of his parents  being there was the result in him not being able to find friends or express his feelings through anything but anger.  )   Again,  while  vicky  knows that she isn’t there,  there’s a part of her that vehemently  fights not only herself but reggie when he expresses exactly that,  and she does so by inserting herself into his schedule  or  changing the subject instead of facing it head on. 

    While  vicky  mantle  isn’t  the perfect  mother   /   parent  (  and truly,  no  one  is  )   she does  care for both reginald  and oliver to the point that she would do anything to make sure they were safe and out of harms way, despite what they might think of her.   but much like any parent to their kids, it might not seem like much.      @vanityriot
