Although I don’t have the best memory and I have a habit of losing replies and forgetting to do my drafts, for some reason there are 200+ of you lovely people following me.      — no. He does not  want  company  and  the      suggestion  of  it  would’ve   made him reel  if      he were the sort to allow for surprise.    Molly is traditionally stubborn. Once she sets      her mind to something she will try and try and    try until she makes it happen, or it backfires     dramatically on her, in which case she will    give up.    Admittedly, she knew nothing about Severus,     and there was a chance that he isolated himself,    but she wanted to put an offer of companionship    on the table just in case. 

      ❝Well, I'm sorry to disturb you. I just thought            you might like having somebody to talk to            for a change.❞  And now she's kind of insulted and disappointed  that he seems to be rejecting her, even though  he hardly knows the first thing about her.

A thank you is mumbled, though it’s barely audible. Daphne is far too hurried to get the hell away from here before anyone can see. Honestly, it was a wonder why she considered those who would judge her for even such a  casual social interaction important to her, but here she was, dodging a perfectly  polite woman for her own social needs. The blonde attempts her escape, but the other witch begins to question her, Daphne knowing she had to be polite and respond. She was her elder after all, and respecting her elders was a lesson she was taught, even if her parents didn’t desire her to use it on a Weasley. "I’m fine, thank you.       ——Crazy day, s’all.”

Molly gives a half a smile, consoling and gentle, but also slightly confused and disoriented. The poor girl seems so flustered, and she hardly knows what to do. She's never seen someone react to her this way before. She lets out a quiet breath and pulls the book she had been looking at off the shelf holding it in one hand, her concentration completely on the blonde beside her. "I understand the feeling."  She nodded, a warm grin spreading across her face.  "What's your name, sweetheart?"

       For a long moment, Molly says nothing.          Mostly because she likes to think that           comfort can easily be given by just a           soft smile or the mere presence of a          friend, but she doesn't know what's wrong,          and she has to know if she's going           to comfort  her properly, so she speaks.          "Are you alright, sweetheart?"
