Defenders is great because we get to see how everyone else sees Matt rather than us watching him through his own show because in Defenders it is very much like “wow! Daredevil is so in control and put together. He is super scary and I would not want to mess with him” while in Matt’s show it’s like “disaster catholic with daddy issues gets physically and emotionally recked for 6 episodes before we take away everything he loves” and that is very fun.

Kudos to fanfiction writers for writing about all the trauma and emotional and mental turmoil that the original content creators dont acknowledge when putting characters through hell

This has evolved to one of fanfiction’s major assets in my eyes. To every author that cares enough about the characters in their stories to examine trauma, but also the slow, tedious processes of healing and recovery: your stories mean so much to me and other persons with mental health problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

All I’ve wanted to read in the past few years is people healing from trauma, working through trauma, acknowledging the importance of what happened to them and the ways that it changed them and growing as people who can incorporate tragedy into their history and still be whole.

Maybe fractured and scuffed and stitched together, but still a whole person who made it out.

I’m tired of sunsets.

I’m tired of characters who suffer for a scene and then smile and kiss their lover and get a happy ending.

I know that happy endings happen sometimes.

I also know what it takes to get to them and those are the stories that I want to read.
