Lilyâs eyes glittered as she smiled and hugged her husband, âThen letâs make a weekend of it! You, me, and all of Castelia. Phones off, no work calls, no personal calls.â
She leaned down to kiss him before going back to her chair, âItâll be like a second honeymoon. And then Iâll have to call Furuka and Akio as soon as weâre back. Theyâll absolutely flip.â
Christopher sat back as well, wiping his tears away and laughing, âThey would! Ah, to get their faces... â This whole thing was still surreal to him, though. He couldnât imagine their reactions. Those two were always to funny and quirky.
âA second honeymoon..ah so romantic and nice~â The professor sighed dreamily, âNo paperwork, no data to analyze, no observations...just you and me, with each other~ âÂ
There, much better. Lily stroked his hair, not wanting to pull away from the kiss, but reluctantly doing so. She wiped away his tears as well as her own before answering.
âIâm a little nervous,â she admitted, âBut mostly excited. I never thought Iâd ever get to have all this, a job I love and thrive in, a husband who supports me and I support in return, and now weâre starting a family. A little Hart, that we made.â
A sly little smile crossed her face, âOkay, I know I said you didnât have to do anything extraâŠ. but I want to fly to Unova, Castelia specifically, and start buying stuff for the nursery. If you⊠want to come along instead of go to work tomorrow~â
That made him melt. This was just like the first Mewmas heâs ever had..but BETTER! And a lot more sweet, heâs with his wife, and just tremendously better. Words could not come smoothly or quickly for him.
âYes..a million times yes, we definitely need a nursery. Sycamore will definitely understand. Heh..â Chris gulped, âHeâs..been trying to get me to take a break anyway-so thisâll be good. Aah-ah-ha..this is happening.. And going to Unova too, no less.â He sighed, somewhat like a swoon,Â
âYes...yes after this, Iâll pack things up and get ready. Itâll be a trip, b-but itâs good weâre doing it now..â Deeeeeep breathes. Chris kept reminding himself, and not to get himself to wind up again. âBut..eat first. You prepared such a beautiful feast. Oh Lily..youâre going to be a fantastic mother.. you deserve all great things coming to you..âÂ
Lily immediately moved in closer to try and help Chris calm down. Shoot, she knew this probably would have set him off, but she wanted so badly to surprise him!
âCalm down, love,â she cooed, helping him sit up more properly to help open up his airways, âItâs already taken care of. Iâve got all the vitamins and pre-natals already sorted in the bathroom, every doctorâs appointment already scheduled, itâs all already good. And I can keep drinking a little bit of red wine, itâs good for me⊠for us.â
She reached up and stroked Chrisâ cheek, âI just need you to keep being amazing, just the way you are. My beautiful, wonderful husband⊠father of my child.â
His breathing became a lot more stable, his blush deepening, and his chuckles still in his voice. He hadnât been this giddy since-!
Well..since the wedding! So Chris locked eyes with her, and gave her a deep kiss on the lips. Staying close, his forehead near herâs, he murmured, âYou..kept this for so long...what a wonderful surprise. Oh Lily..âÂ
The professor slowed his breathing. It was easy when heâs got the woman he loved in his focus, âI will be me, and I will be everything you need me to be. Always..for you..for us.â His crying didnât stop, though, but thatâs okay. We all know this Professorâs prone to crying and being emotional, âIâm..beyond excited. And you..how are you feeling about this? Youâre...okay, love?â
Oh thank goodness, he was just stunned. And she couldnât blame him, honestly. They were both such busy bodies and it took her weeks to get into a habit of not taking her birth control after all these years, who would have even guessed?
âYeah,â she said, reaching out to take his hand, âWeâre going to be parents. Youâre going to be a father, Chris.â
Yup here come the waterfall of tears for Chris. He didnât recognize that his hand was taken from his mouth until he felt her warmth. Grasping her hand, the dark hair-ed retorted, âYouâre going to be...a-a mother.. a wonderful..â
The professor couldnât finish it. This was really coming to a reality so fast on him. Christopher wheezed, âParents...parents...!â He started to laugh a bit, holding the photo to his heart, âParents..âÂ
Wow he was really breaking over this. But he was so proud! This was going to be---
He paused and brought up his head, âW-wait..we need a room-ah no, we have plenty of rooms...aaahhh no wine? Oh no-I wonât drink any, itâs okay, I donât need it hahaha.. oh my gods..and no caffeine, no chocolate, but thatâs also okay because..a child! A baby!â Chris was almost hysterical, soon to turn to Lily, his wheezing getting worst, âHeehhee.. *cough* do we have the vitamins? H-have you taken any? I can get some now. P-prenatal and anything else. Oh Lily..anything you need..do you need me to take off work? D-do...*cough* you... *wheeze* need..-â But he paused himself to try to take deep breathes, uttering in between
All these words meant was that Michael was alive. Her mind latched onto that and a light that hadnât been there a second ago while she was starting to grieve, sparked to life in her eyes. Balia almost choked on a relieved sob, looking to Karen to give her friendâs shoulder an excited squeeze before turning back to Sivos.
âA moment ago I was preparing for you to tell us weâd lost him!â she caught hold of Sivos and gave him a gentle shake and then took his face in her hands. Senses pouring out her relief and gratefulness to him.
âThank you! Now take us to him! Please!â
He almost did, though..all of them actually. All of them sustained heavy damage. For that, Sivos heavily bashed himself for that..and for letting them separate from each other.
However, it wasnât his problem. Closing his eyes, he teleported Morgana, Karen, and Balia to the hospital, and changed his form to how he was in medical school-hair tied back and looking a little more human than mystical? Definitely professional. But, Sivos murmured, to Balia before she left, âListen. A lot of things happened. And whatever you see..just..be wary. Heâs weak.âÂ
Karen didnât care, though, she immediately took Baliaâs hand and Morganaâs to even teleport in, and trying to sense where he is as far as the room. There. Room 387. Tears were filling up her eyes, then turned to the others, Ready.
Wow, that was a long pause. And Lily couldnât quite make out if he was overwhelmed with joy or distraught. A nervous smile stretched across her face as she held her hands up and waved them a bit.
âS-surprise, Chris,â she said very shakily, âWeâre⊠weâre gonna have a baby.â
The pause prolonged, but at least Chrisâ gaze was frozen on the image. His mind and heart was warming up at last, especially shown in how his hand holding the photo was shaking. His other hand cupped his mouth, feeling his tears welt up and drip down, the professor was now getting it. The flood of emotions, and how he was melting in his chair over this.Â
It finally happened... if finally...
the idea..the possibility and now..?Â
Well, now he was out of breathe, but before fetching water or deep breathes, he looked to Lily in the hushest voice and the widest smile, âWe...weâre..going to be parents...?âÂ
Lilyâs expression lit up, but she tamped it down before speaking, âOh, nothing interesting. I went down to the fabric alley to see if anything caught my eye. Nothing really did, but I still bought some lovely silks and some lining. I went to a small designer lunch and talked up some other designers on what the upcoming trends might be.â
She couldnât help the playful, giddy smile on her face as she tried sit still in her chair. But she couldnât help herself any longer. She jumped up from her chair suddenly, âOoh, okay, I canât wait!â
She crossed the dining room and into the kitchen. There was the rustle of her opening a drawer, pulling something out, and coming back to the table with her hands behind her back. The moment she was next to Chris, she presented him with a small envelope. Inside the envelope would be a card that read âCongratulations!â
And inside the card would be a small picture⊠a sonogram! With the digital image of a small, small baby.
Christopher nodded, but felt like there was something...else? She was so excited about something else. Or even if it wasnât, her face lighting up was so great. It always put his mind at ease. Even his exhaustion was temporarily placed to the side just to see her happy. Blinking at her jumping up was curious..
âHuh..?â But they were eating? There was something else? Truly, this was a confusing orientation, and he really wished he had gift for her, âA...card?â He watched Lily sit back down before opening up with a âcongratulationsâ and--
and--
He stared. What was he staring at? It took him so long to put these pieces together, yet words did NOT come out. Chris was on overload, and his gaze bounced between both Lily and the picture.Â
âSivosâŠâ her voice was hardly above a whisper as she greeted him in turn. She almost couldnât speak with how afraid he was of what he might say. What he would tell her of what had come to pass. Yes, she didnât look that great. She hadnât slept well, and her fingers hurt like no bodyâs business, but at least she was clean and wasnât hungry. Thanks to Karen and Morgana. And what little sense she had retained in all this time.
When Karen was finished wrapping her hands in the new bandages Balia stood up. Shakily, but still she was standing, brows furrowed at his two statements.
âI donâtâŠ.. I donât understand? Youâre aloneâŠ. why should I not fret?â
Karen watched Sivos intently, wary, and not knowing. For a month, her connected was completely cut off from Michael. It felt like an eternity for her, and probably for Balia as well. They were all wrecks..
âI am, but it is for good reason.â The blonde stated and walked towards Balia, âIt is for a very good reason, and I can either explain everything now, or bring you to him.â He was determined to at least get her to calm down a little bit. âHeâs stable, right now. But you have to be prepared...âÂ
How long had it been? Too long for the woman, and the pokemon that lived in this little house in the obscurity of the Kalosian countryside. A month. An entire agonizing month had passed of waiting. Surely it wasnât as long as it could have been. Nor as long as it might be for others.
But still long enough. Every day she and the precious pokemon that called Michael brother or friend was a torment of waiting and wondering. Balia, soaked in these emotions and a patch of mania seemed to come over her. For what is inspiration if not a sort of mania? And was she not the goddess of musical inspiration? She worked with a heartache fueled determination. Training with her teacher Oria and others, dancing till her limbs matched the ache in her heart, and churned out music and songs that might bring the icy-hearted to tears. Playing the music till her fingers bled on the keys of the piano and her muscles new the new songs on their own. Singing till her throat was raw most days. If it had not been for Karen, Morgana and all the rest she might have forgotten everything else. The days bled together like this, and their nights were wrapped up in fearful troubled sleep.
It was in a moment where Karen and Morgana had pulled her away after running through her latest dizzying cascade of tearful songs to re-salve and bandage her hands that she suddenly looked stricken and her hands shook. Karen and Morgana scolding her yet again for this nonsense of not taking care of herself ended in a moment.
There was a knock at the door and the very air in the house grew cold in the face of Baliaâs assumption based on whoâs presence was⊠and wasnât on the doorstep. Morgana was the one who would open the door for Sivos.
Heeeeeeeeeere we gooooooooooooo.
Sivos took in a breathe, thanked Morgana, and stepped in to meet the gaze of Balia with his two-colored eyes. Ah, she didnât look good. The classic âwork yourself to deathâ as a distraction was in play here. But he didnât blame her. He remembered a time where he did the same..
âMiss Ray.â He nodded with a slight bow, âI..have news. But you mustnât fret yet.â
âGoodness of my heart? You presume too much, Professor,â she purred playfully, giving his arm a little squeeze before letting go to retrieve the wine bottle, âI may have ulterior motives, but youâll have to wait until after dinner.â
She poured them each a glass, hers decidedly less than his, then sat down. Unlike couples who usually sat at opposite ends of the table, Lily preferred to sit on the adjacent sides. With Chris being a bit more frail than before they married, she wanted to stay close, in case something happened. But there was no concern on her face tonight, just a loving smile and maybe slightly too eager eyes.
âHow was work?â She asked, pivoting her fork around her plate.
Aaand he knew what that meant, his cheeks indicated with a shy blush-but not a full one. Lily had broken him into being a tad more forward. Especially for her enjoyment..both of their enjoyments. Christopher sat down with her, thankked her for the wine and took a sip before answering.
âIt was alright, weâre still trying to figure out if thereâs a potential link between Sharpedo and Garchomp as far as evolutionary variation, or adaptation in place. However..â The professor started to dive into the food. He was huungry, âthereâs something thatâs stopping us from determining that, so weâre doing our best each day.. on top of that, Sycamore is determined Iâll get assigned a region soon.âÂ
He sighed, âHe works quite hard, yet he looks like he hasnât missed sleep ever. I guess..passion does that to anyone.â Smiling, and taking a bite at this nice meal, Chris asked âHow was your day?â
How long had it been? It didnât matter anymore. What mattered was how the whole group decided in the beginning to STICK TOGETHER! And now theyâre not. The most frustrating thing about being the mom friend of the group. Who knew that Sivos could even be such a friend?Â
..Regardless he was beyond worried about all of them. They were all mostly fine..
Mostly.
The blonde took a deeeeeeeep breathe before finally appearing before Baliaâs door and knocking at it. She wasnât going to like this at all. But on the bright side? At least Kii was gone, aaand The Void was back. He lived a long life, didnât he? Long eternities, true, but good.
âOh, stop it you,â Lily chuckled, mussing with his hair, âThis is just a nice little dinner between husband and wife. I was feeling generous today and you simply must see what Iâve done.â
Taking his hand, she lead him back to the dining room. It was dimly lit by an array of candles, but the dinner was lavish and almost sparkling in the candlelight. It was beautiful! She even tried to present it all in a traditional Johto manner.
âW-well, what do you think?â
Chris gave a laugh when she messed with his hair. He adored when she did that! Heâd always kept it a bit ruffled and long just for her. Regardless when he was guided to the dining room, he gave an audible gasp, holding his mouth.
âThis..this is more beautiful than the picture..â It was like his breathe was taken away. Unfortunately the moment was ruined when his stomach growled...and the professor laughed, hugged Lily again and beamed, âI love it! You did great! This looks like the food and drinks came directly from Johto! Itâs amazing...ah...â His yellow gaze peered up at Lily,
âYouâre amazing..you know that? You just did this from the goodness of your heart. Aaaah..Lilyy..~â
An excited gasp escaped the dining room. Lily appeared in the entrance, dressed in an elegant dark blue dress. Palisades came in squawking behind her, chiding Chris for running behind. Lily ran to him, embracing him and covering his face in kisses as she took his work stuff from him and set it aside. She turned back and took his coat off as well.
âWelcome home, my love,â she purred, running her hands over his collarbone, âAnd right on time, the wine is at a perfect temperature.â
Chris embraced Lily back, holding her and kissing her back while murmuring, âAh-sorry, sorry Pali, soorry...hahaa..â He gave a nervous laugh, but gave Lily his full attention. Even giving her a twirl in his arms and placing her back to the ground,Â
âReally? Thatâs great! Thank you..whatâs.. wow.. are we celebrating som--â He paused, and gazed at her wide-eyed and shocked, â..Did..did I miss a date? A celebration? Oh my..Iâm so underdressed, I would have been home sooner....Urg why did I not write it down..âÂ
The professor thought to the side and gave more nervous laughing, âW-well..I..uh...w-want me to get dressed? What can I do? Especially for you..? Aaahh youâve put so much work into this..â
Lily was, to put it lightly, very excited. She had gotten up early they morning, made breakfast for herself and her husband, and left for her usual fabric shopping and fashion analyzing. However, today was special. Today she had stopped by a doctorâs office to have a very special appointment. An appointment that sheâd worked very hard to keep secret from Chris for weeks.
And now, now it was time for dinner. Lily had prepared a beautiful spread of Johtoan food. A shimmering bottle of ruby red wine sat on the breakfast nook, resting within a bucket of ice. By all accounts, this was one amazing looking dinner.
But her heart sank as her phone buzzed back in the living room. Palisades brought it to her, a look of disappointment on her little face. Lily took the phone and read Chrisâ message. Well, at least it was just a store run. She snapped a picture of the wine to send with her message.

[txt - Chris đ] Just someone to share this beautiful wine with~
Wooah..she went all out! Christopher took a long look at the pictures and chuckled, responding.
[txt] How did I get so lucky? Iâll see you home soon <3 [txt]
His heart was beating so quickly that when he hopped on Fenrirâs back, Chris almost fell off the other end. Luckily his dragon knew that he was like this-ESPECIALLY with these killer texts. The bat dragon snickered and made sure Chris was safe to fly.
âY-yeah..Iâll be okay. Deeeep..breathes...â On another thing, Christopher had to take heed of his health, namely how his everything kicked up-allergies, sicks, now asthma? But this was all good. He had the most perfect woman in the world that could always ground him back down.Â
Both professor and Pokemon headed back home in an instant.Â
Christopher returned his Noivern, balancing his bags full of books, papers, and laptop for the day (and of course Pokemon) and stepped right into their home. The smell of the food and the warmth overwhelmed his senses and calmed his stresses over. Laughing to himself at the silence, he finally called, âSomeone ordered..a husband to have wine with?âÂ
Nothing had been the same five years ago. Ever since waking up and gaining some knowledge about what all was happening with space and exactly what was inside him, Christopher hadnât been the same. He had felt like a part of him had vanished. Which..it did.Â
It didnât stop him, though. Christopher recovered from the short comatose state, was eager to find out that some of the people had come back from their mission, and he was back on his head of recovery and his dream. He had gained a lot of his own clumsiness, he had been slower to take in information, and there were times where he had felt more..human?Â
Thatâs what the thing inside him had stated-that he would be more of his human self. It was good, but an odd feeling to lose such powers from that creature. Apart of his dream, perhaps, was to seek out this Cro creature, but now? Now he had to focus.Â
Now that he is a professor. He had taken the name Professor Hart, and he would be studying the Evolution of Pokemon. Someday he would get his own region, but for now? Now Christopher was just preparing and honing his skills that were lost or weakened.Â
This night was different, and would change his view forever, however...
[txt] Iâm going to head to the store before I head home, do you need anything? [txt]Â
Christopher texted Lily, patting and rubbing his Noivernâs head, and waiting for Lilyâs response. Donât ride Pokemon and text, kids.
Iza watched him with one wary eye. As a Darkrai, she ensued terror in everyone, especially children but not him? Was it really okay to..? Lowering her arms and claws to hold the strange little boy, she couldnât help but feel like this was right. Like this was all too familiar to her. The ripples of the nightmare started to appear again. Gazing over at her power being tainted, the Darkrai lifted Juan up in the air and presented it to..the air?Juan giggled, though, âSeee, see! You remember! Y-Yukiââ
The toddlerâs voice caught while he was looking back to where he was. Instead he was faced with a monster with sharp teeth, claws, and four horns-one broken. Their piercing blue gaze smoldered Juanâs struggled reaction enough for him to be held by this unknown..thing! Gasping, Juan looked all around, âYuki? Moom..Mom, no..!â
A moment came..and nothing?
Poking one eye opened, Yuki only spotted a hand reach down, and with that hand, the surroundings of the nightmare faded back into the real world. The air suddenly filled his lungs and gave Yuki a start, as if waking up. The man, Sivos, offering him a hand chuckled, âWell..~ You did it.â He stated with his usual sing-song voice.
Yuki stared up in disbelief, looked down at Juan, held him close and glanced back up, âHow did you do that..? How do I know itsâŠ..youâŠ.â To be fair, he always acted the part he needed to act. For this particular instance, he needed to be brave and smart about this. His past knowledge had told Yuki that Kii can shapeshift and Iza could have easily put them in a dream again to put both him and Juan in a bad position. Not only that..but Sivos could very easily be on Kiiâs side. He didnât quite trust him stillâŠ
Retracting his hand, Sivos instead placed it upon his chest, âYou should definitely question. Especially I, who has removed my heart..â Taking a breathe, and curling his long blonde hair, he nodded, âNow..unlike Nanaki and Iza, they hold hatred and anything but love within them. Right? Besides..who would have a sweet guitar like this?â Materializing from the stars and space itself it seemed, a guitar not quite materialized but the shape showed appeared. Sivos held it and played a welcoming tune, âAh..my dear, dear Ishnu..â The Magician purred, then glance back to Yuki, adding it, âBesides..you were the one that taught me how to return my emotions. All guarantees, all my money back~~â
Lily averted her gaze. Sheâd hoped he wouldnât ask, but that was silly. He was a smart man, a curious one. Of course he would ask.
âNâŠnearly half a year,â she answered shakily, âI wasnât sure if you were going to make it some days. But you were so strong, so i stayed strong tooâŠâ
âN..no..â That was his first reaction..and only reaction. It was hard to swallow or breathe for that moment. He merely stared, dumbfounded, like she was an Ultra Beast from another world. Things were still off, and even his memories were off too, but..
Slowly, Christopher rose up to kiss Lilyâs cheeks from the tears, his hands rubbing her hands, â...Thank you. I know it was because of you that Iâm here.. no need to cry...âÂ
