Film Review: Captain America (2014)
My Rating: ★★★★★
A terriffic continuation of the Marvel Universe, tying in perfectly with last nights episode of Marvels Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. here are some other reasons why this movie was awesome
Chris Evans (Push, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) O Captain! My Captain! As always, chris did such a fantastic job with this role (especially the scene with Cap standing up to Fury)! Also his humor throughout the film was pleasant as well. Sad Peggy/Steve feels. Favorite line: "On your left!"
Samuel L. Motherfuckin Jackson (Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America: The Winter Soldier) General Badass Motherfucker.
Stan Lee (Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, The Big Bang Theory, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America: The Winter Soldier) All hail our king and master, creator of Marvel. Love his cameos! I think that this one is honestly my favorite so far. Best Line: "I'm gonna get fired for this"
Anthony Mackie (The Adjustment Bureau, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) Lost his Wingman (much sad) Turns out to be a wingman for Cap. down to earth guy with a tragic past that makes you wanna run up to him and give him a hug. Loved how in the end he knows he doesnt have to go with steve, but he goes with him anyways. Bros.
Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother, The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America: The Winter Soldier) Also Major Badass (*salutes *Major Badass) Heroicly swoops in to save the day. I wonder if she's in the loop with people who know Coulson's alive. guess we'll find that out later. AU where Robin Scherbatsky joined S.H.I.E.L.D. after leaving Metro News 1 (And stays married to Barney)
Maximiliano Hernández (Thor, The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America: The Winter Soldier) Good bad guy/traitor dude. Love his freakout after buing kicked off a building to fall to his death only to be saved and interogated some more.
Alan Dale (Torchwood, Lost, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) World Security Council Member (uncredited) I got excited when I saw him, mostly cause i thought he was the actor my friends were hinting at that was in this movie. Though it wasn't, twas a nice bonus. Good role for Alan.
D.C. Pierson (Derrick Comedy, Mystery Team, Community, Key and Peele, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) Second actor I freaked out about, also not the one they were talking about, and another nice bonus.
AND THE ACTOR I WAS WATING FOR BUT DIDN'T KNOW IT CAUSE MY BROS ARE AWESOME AT NOT GIVING AWAY SPOILERS...
Danny Pudi (Community, Cougar Town, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) Marquette University Alum who graduated in 2001 with a Communications degree (That's my degree too!) and is the biggest MU Golden Eagles basketball fan ever. He made his directorial view with Untucked (2014) which is part of ESPN Films' 30 for 30 Documentary series. Untucked is about "The iconic "untucked" jersey worn in 1977 when Marquette University won its first and only national college basketball championship" But back to how awesome Danny was in Cap 2... ASDFGHJKLSKDKFLKAJF!!! OMG PERFECT!!! I freaked out in the theatre accordingly. Putting his Communications degree to good use staring as "Com Tech #1" AU where Troy and Abed join S.H.I.E.L.D. together. *Troy and Abed savin the wOOO000OOOoooorrrld!*
Although, there was one dissappointment. The score was NOT done by Alan Silvestri ("CHiPs", Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, Back to the Future Part III, Back to the Future... The Ride, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers), as I had been hoping for, but his themes from Captain America: The First Avenger were used in the film. So that was good. Also looking forward to hearing his score for "Marvel's INFINITY" (pre-production)
SUMMARY: GO SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Great, not only as a superhero movie, but also as a action movie with some love storys snuck into it. Also bros, and a fantastic cast!
Also, the part where Danny Pudi's Character, Com Tech #1, says
he's referencing "Top Gun" Further evidence that Com Tech #1 is actually Abed Nadir.
Cool, cool cool cool.
Film Review: Need For Speed (2014)
My Rating: ★★★★★
Just so much aweomeness in one movie!
MUSTANGS! (2013 Shelby GT500 and the 2015 Ford Mustang GT at the end of the movie. Oh how they purr!!)
CHP! (6 Actors, one of which piloting a CHP Helicopter, dozens of CHP patrol cars and a couple Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicles. They were only some Motorcycles, a Jon, and a Ponch short of making this movie even more perfect!)
LINKIN PARK (Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park off of their 2012 album Living Things. Needless to say, i verbally and physically freaked out when this came on.)
GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
This is heavy!
I predict someone will czech someone else into the wall when @USOlympic takes on the Czech Republic in Hocey today. #TeamUSA #Sochi #Sochi2014
