My first 4 page comic, originally released on Twitter @mattsh_. Worked with a fantastic team which just made my work look tons better! Written by the esteemed Hugo Boylan, Colours and Cleanup by the lovely Meghan Ryan, Lettering & Design by the fantastic Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou and Lineart by myself. :) 

We’re all teaming up again on a 22-page oneshot now to be released this Summer, so thrilled and super excited to be working with them on that. Thanks for reading anyway!

2015 - My first ever published work was in an anthology series collected by Sarah Bowie and Debbie Jenkinson from the Comics Lab, and published by Straylines. Really enjoyed doing this one, but i can also understand i may have gotten carried away and look too busy.

2016 - I had the opportunity to submit a horror story to acidcane comics for their women of horror anthology series being released at the end of Feb, and I decided to reapproach and shorten the short story I had done practically a year ago (see below). Really feel like I’ve improved a lot in pretty much every area which is really refreshing; still have some things to work on though but I was very pleased to actually complete this in as much detail as I could muster. Although, just hope the story is readable, as that’s the most important part of any sequential work.

2016 - I did a poster for the Irish Comics Lab in Dublin. Was quite happy with this, minus the terrible lettering.

2015 - Personal story experiment. Although a little busy looking I was still very pleased to get this tale out of my head, somewhat.

2015 - A page drawn from the Jason Aaron ‘Scalped’ script, ‘Listening to the World Turn’, originally drawn by GM Guera.

2015 - Sequential portfolio work adapted from the short 2 sentence horror story I found online:

'A girl heard her mom yell her name from downstairs, so she got up and started to head down. As she got to the stairs, her mom pulled her into her room and said "I heard that, too." Please excuse the awful lettering.

2015 - Daredevil page from Mark Waid’s ‘Daredevil issue 1′ script, originally drawn by Paolo Rivera. Worked at this for ages over one summer in 2012; finally re-approached it.

2014 - The first page to a project I worked on which unfortunately didn’t come to fruition. Besides some anatomical errors, I mostly enjoy the way it turned out though.

2013 - took far too long on this. Learned a lot though which is why I’ve included it. Taken from the Andy Diggle script ‘Batman: Rules of Engagement’

Also, my new favourite (albeit fake) word:

sonder n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.
