#onesthatgotaway I think this is the most technical shot I’ve taken. I had a lot of practice at panning shots at motogp over the years but nothing as dynamic as a cyclocross rider on rough terrain. Whilst at the Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, we discovered the main doors were heavily embossed at varying depth which had the most amazing qualities when pictured up close with the camera facing back across the door. I put years of practice (and many failures) into this long exposure shot of 6th Avenue. I love you can see the blades of the lens, a bus has shot across the shot and headlights draw lines of their routes. The group of people waiting for the crossing gives a bit of focus and the glow of radio city neon sign frames it nicely. The mangroves were up-lit at our hotel and the reflection mirrored perfectly in the still waters of the lagoon.
