“Thats a lie, i’m sure quite a few people were sad wen you died matty.” Teddy said with a shrug of her shoulders. “It’s just the way it is. I was the first to die. I thought i’d last longer then I did, apparently not.” Teddy smiled and shrugged a little more. “I went to see my father.”

He shook his head a lot, “It was just a game.” he gave her a gentle nudge, trying to be comforting in his own way. “Me too, you’re pretty badass.” he smiled back and nodded, “Oh, well that’s cool! Did you have a good time?”

“Only for a weekend.” She explained before slowly raising her eyebrow. “Matty, you’re such a bad liar, no one was even sad when I “died” during the apocalypse.”

“Nobody was sad when I di-” he stopped because, from what he’d heard, Rori was a little upset, “I was sad! You went earlier than me, right? I was sure I’d be the very first to go.” he shrugged. “Uh, what did you do?”

Her arms wound their way around his neck, feeling her fingers touch the hair on the lower part of his head. However, she wasn’t completely aware of what she was doing, only feeling the sensation of him against her and nothing else. His tenderness just made him all the more endearing to her. She moaned quietly, both in agreement to what he was saying and what her body was feeling. She pulled away for a moment to catch her breath and giggled breathlessly. “I like the kissing. I like you. I like it all.” She rushed out, pressing her lips against his softly again.

It was the moan, it kind of set something off in him, like an electric shock. His attraction to her was something he couldn’t escape from, the more he found out about her, the more he found out things he liked. “Same here.” he said articulately, kissing her back again, this time he just let it carry on for a while, probably making a bit of a PDA at that moment. Matty couldn’t say he cared though, not with her lips against his, not when they tasted so sweet. The only thing that could make him stop was the idea that Hannah might be around and might have seen them. He stole a few gentle kisses before he spoke again, “Uh..so, I was thinking...we have a night to spend in a five star hotel...we could have a really fancy first date...if you wanted.”

It feels good to be back, I really missed this place.

“You left?” he asked, pausing before adding, “You left! Welcome back because I was so aware you left and everything I- I cried! I was like, wow, where’s Teddy? And everyone was...crying...” he trailed off.

She laughed quietly, grinning. She went to respond, but instead let her eyes convey her message. Everything else melted away as he was looking at her, and whilst she knew there was still so much about each other they had yet to learn, there was a connection between them that she’d never felt before. As his eyes closed, she felt something in her chest tighten. “I missed you too.” She breathed, feeling his lips almost against hers creating some sort of spark between them. “I… I want to be.” Her words escaped her, and all she could think about were his lips against hers for real. She moved the tiny distance between them to place them against his, her eyes having already fallen shut in the moment.

They were get to know each other soon enough if she wanted them to, he’d been holding back because of the whole Hannah situation but it was really time for Rori to take charge, he’d respect whatever decision she made. If she wanted to just leave this then he’d give her the space, it was all down to her. He pulled her gently closer and kissed her tenderly, feeling totally wired by just the simple connection of her lips against his. “I’d like that...” he mumbled against her lips, “But we can just date first...it’s really all up to you.” His hand slid into her hair and he massaged it through, “Or we can just keep kissing and not think...” he joked softly with a smile.

Rori was incredibly glad to be back in the comfort of familiar surroundings that weren’t surrounded by zombies, and she had looked forward to catching up with everyone about their experiences. However, none of this anticipation had compared to what she felt about seeing Matty. There was so much she imagined she would tell him - probably something along the lines of ‘You saved me! You’re my hero! - but when the time actually came, all thoughts left her. As he pulled her against him, she giggled lightly before breathing in deeply. He smelled like Matty, and it made her feel something almost like home. “No thanks to you,” She said breathlessly, her hand coming up to touch his face as she looked at him.

“I just did what anyone would do...anyone who, like, cared about you a bunch and wanted make sure you didn’t get fake devoured.” he chuckled, forgetting just about anything else but her as she they stood so close. When her hand rested against his face, he let his eyes close, his tone taking on a rare quality, not joking at all as he murmured, “I missed you...” his lips were so close to hers now that they brushed against them as he added, “Explain to me why you aren’t my girlfriend.” The blonde couldn’t understand it himself, all logic was out the window at the moment, all he knew was the girl before him was one of his favourite people ever and he wanted to be with her all the time.

The week was up and it was about time for the survivors to come back and there was a bunch of them he was looking forward to seeing, but, in particular, he wanted to see Rori. He’d not gotten the chance to say goodbye to her and it had sucked but now he could see her again and that just made him insanely happy. Plus, he needed to congratulate her on surviving, if he couldn’t survive himself, it made him proud to say one or a few of his friends did. When the young woman arrived he broke into a wide grin and went to her immediately, the absence of her actually making him even more fond of her it seemed. He pulled her into a warm hug and nuzzled against her hair before pulling back to look at her, “You survived! I’m so proud of you!”

“I’ve always been a morning person, who knows why but I guess it’s because I’ve always been surrounded by people I adore and want to wake up to see.”

“You make it sound like it’s a contest or something.”

“I don’t choose who I like, it just happens. However, the fact that she hasn’t ever hidden how she she feels is pretty amazing.”

Day Four - Group Task

Her stomach growled quietly, and she laughed softly. “They are, I think.” She nodded, following along with her hand in his. She was incredibly grateful she wasn’t doing this alone. “What happens if they get us?” She whispered, not knowing if he would’ve heard.

“Well, if we’re thinking of this as a game...then we get to go somewhere awesome...if we’re talking literals they’re going to eat us and stuff...it’ll look awesome, I’m sure.” he cringed a little. He was going to say more but one passed by them, so close that he froze and then quickly hid her, stepping in front of her. There was silence for a moment before it screamed, a horrifying scream he wasn’t expecting, it made him jump and it drew the attention of the others. He looked around in panic and looked back at her, “Okay, I need you to hide, right down there,” he nodded to the space behind a dumpster, “When the coast is clear, run.” he whispered urgently. He gave her a ‘last’ look before turning  away and stepping out, “HEY!” he waved the zombies towards him, “LOOK AT ME! ALL YOU CAN EAT, YOU SCARY B-” they began to approach and he ran away a little further before calling back to Rori, “Rori, I kinda...I...” he didn’t know what it was he wanted to say and there wasn’t much time, “I’m glad I could keep you safe!” He bolted then, calling out to the zombies as he did, leading them away as far as he could before one of them dragged him down and the rest pounced. He let out a yell but there was soon only silence.
