Thanks to my Dad’s cousin Ray Garand for these black and white photos of the barn taken in the 90s. Something I wasn’t expecting when I called him to ask him permission to use his music for the Great Grandfather’s Abandoned Farm video (link in bio). Originally I wasn’t going to use music but I knew it would be perfect for it so I had to. The two songs used were called “Welcome Again” and “Any Reason” which seems very fitting. So glad my mom @mjgarand took photos of the barn before the roof blew off. Really added to the Great Grandfather’s Abandoned Farm video for some context. This is how I remember it growing up. A great destination to take the go-kart or motorbike for a rip. It’s about .2 km from my parent’s farm. Doing this video was a great family history learning experience. I’m really into abandoned building videos and wanted to do one of my own. I thought about this old barn that I used to play in as a kid. I always knew in the back of my mind that it was great grandpa’s farm yard but never have I learned so much until I started making this video. So it really sorta evolved into a family history documentary as well. I personally love when there is some historic insight when checking out these abandoned building type videos because I’m a lover of history, all kinds.
