As part of the recent menswear show, Prada also showed a selection of womenswear pieces that will be sold as part of Resort 2014. Among the womenswear pieces were a variety of examples of how tucks and gathers can be used to create shaping and fullness.

FANTASTIC FOUR: Dries Van Noten S/S 14 (Paris)

Finding his prints in the archives of the Art Déco museum, he mastered the mixing and matching of different floral prints in a variety of sizes, giving this poetic collection a visual richness. There's something melo, too due to the dark blues and cold colors. This feels like a fresh rain fall in an exotic destination, caught in a modern 60's era.

Not particularly interested in the lip or heart motifs, which bring the more sophisticated and detailed thought pieces down in this collection, there is nevertheless a fresh feel to the use of the flowery and the light colored snake skin pattern combination. Some of the looks seem to not really fit with the rest (like the black long sleeve and skirt) , but there is a continuous idea of femininity, youth and flirtiness. Our favorite piece has to be the total snake skin look dress, with the skirt's folds made into zipped up pockets, a clever way to make a simple summer dress more practical with cool originality.

If in Paris this July be sure to catch the temporary exhibit "ENDROIT/ENVERS" dedicated to Anne Valerie Hash's work at the Palais Royal.

(1st of July to the 20th, 20 Galerie de Montpensier, Jardin du Palais Royal) 

Didier Ludot, who owns a vintage store at the Palais Royal displaying an amazing selection going from Balenciaga to Courege and Schiaparelli, came up with an interesting concept of presenting Hash's pieces inside and out next to other designers known for their construction talents such as Yves Saint Laurent, Poiret or Rei Kawabuko (Comme des Garçons). Not only will we be able to admire some of her best pieces in one of Paris' perfect settings, but we will also get to see what lays beneath, realizing the work and thought that went into making them true works of innovative and creative fashion. 

And we simply could not resist, here is the letter he addressed her, summing up with love and admiration why he decided to take on this project:
