you know what i'm not done. it genuinely does piss me off. i read all these fics that are otherwise great but they have zero consideration for the disability that is present. it feels akin in some ways to reading a fic and you're just like "wait are the pants magically off now?" like is his prosthesis still on? is he wearing it on the bed while he's fucking? what do you mean he's standing up in the shower you know damn well he can't wear that inside there?
abbot is one of my favorite disabled characters because he is simply a disabled man existing in the world, doing his job, doing the little things that make it easier to accommodate himself. he shifts his weight a lot. he takes his prosthesis off when he's kicking back in the park with his coworkers. his disability shouldn't have to be the core of his character screaming at you in neon lights for you to consider it when you write him. it's not harmless to write away a canon disability in a character.
and to be quite honest, it speaks loads to how narrow a view of sexual possibilities you have if you cannot even begin to fathom the ways in which aids, accommodations, and disability furniture can be used sexually, sensually, and sexily. y'all can get kinky as all hell on main but god forbid you consider the sexual possibilities of the shower seat or the grab bars.
