Unlike Opheus decision to turn and look back at the love of his life because of fear and doubt, that if he did look back, his wife wouldn't be there, it was the oppposite for Heloise. She knew Marianne was there, staring intently at her, she was crying, because she was fighting her inner self to look back. She never looked back , also out of fear of losing every ounce of happiness and memories with Marianne. She wants to hold onto that.
