all i’m going to say is that if your rp of 60+ is ignoring new members plotting calls and starters (there’s a starter tag, and if the starter is there, there’s no excuse for this), then that’s a problem no matter how long you’ve been rp’ing together, no matter how used to each other you are, no matter how good of friends you are. i just joined an rp that’s been open for a year a few days ago, and do you want to know how many people were in my IM’s wanting to build connections with me within the first two hours? 12+. that rp is established, has intricate characters and complex connections, and after a year are understandably used to each other – AND THEY STILL REACH OUT TO NEW MEMBERS.

there is no excuse for ignoring new members. it isn’t their fault. they shouldn’t have to “try harder” to integrate themselves into an rp when they’re already the odd one out, the new person, intimidated and understandably anxious and just trying to find a place to fit in. i don’t buy that shit. it’s the responsibility of the members and the admins of an RP that’s promoting for new members and boasting acceptance to make new people feel welcomed, like they agree to when they ask you to join.
