Mungkin yang paling menyakitkan bukanlah kehilangan seseorang, tetapi menyadari bahwa pada akhirnya, kita memang tidak pernah memiliki siapa pun selain diri kita sendiri.

Kehilangan selalu berawal dari rasa kepemilikan akan sesuatu. Jika sedari awal kita merasa tak pernah jadi hak milik atas apa pun, kita mungkin tidak akan menjadi sepatah itu, saat sesuatu tak lagi ada dalam hidup kita.
