Max is about to yell something at him but then he yawns “augh, fuck” he rubs his eyes.

David chuckled softly. “You can take a nap if you wanna, kiddo.” God, his kid’s adorable.

He yawns again and leans back into the seat “ok but we better be home by the time I wake up” he grumbles before falling asleep and snoring loudly.

A while later, they were there. David looked over at Max, deciding he might as well just let him rest… he picked the kid up gently, taking him inside and setting him on the couch for now.

He sleeps for a little while longer. When he wakes up and feels the couch under him his first thought was that he was home with his family. Then he opens his eyes and sits up. The place isn’t familiar to him and he gets scared before remembering “right. I’m with David now. I’m ok” he takes a while to calm himself down before going out to find David.

David had pretty much finished getting Max’s room sorted out. He looked over, smiling. “Hey. You sleep okay?”

He stretches and nods “yeah” then he looks around “oh nice” he then flops onto his bed “thanks…dad..” he mumbles into the pillow.

He ruffled Max’s hair gently. “You like it? We can head out to get some more stuff tomorrow if you want.”

He looks up from his pillow and nods “yeah” he then rolls over and sits up to hugs David “thanks”
