There’s never enough freaking coffee.
I’m startin’ to think that maybe I picked the absolute best program ever. Or maybe I just got the lucky draw today
It’s a pretty damn good program. I mean, drives me crazy on the daily, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So It Goes || Max and Lena
“I was already half awake,” Lena retorts, running her fingers through her hair to push it away from her face. She looks at the blonde, silent for a moment, before asking, “How did you sleep?”
“Oh,” Max murmurs, her eyes following the movement of Lena’s hand for a moment. She fiddles with the edge of the sheet absentmindedly. “I, uh, I slept okay. Better knowing you were here, probably. Do you want coffee?”
So It Goes || Max and Lena
She’s already half awake when she feels movement, and Lena shuts her eyes tighter, stretching. She yawns, opening her eyes, and is a bit disoriented, unsure of where she is. Remembering the night before, she sees Max sitting up next to her. Stretching again, Lena sits up, muttering, “Morning.”
Max smiles meekly, realizing Lena has stirred beside her. She pulls the sheets up to her collarbones, wrapping them around her body comfortably. “Hey,” she murmurs. Lena looks beautiful, Max realizes, even after a night of somewhat restful sleep. Her hair is perfectly mussed, her lipstick smeared across her lips. “I was gonna make coffee. I didn’t mean to wake you.”
So It Goes || Max and Lena
She feels helpless, there’s nothing that she can do to make this better and it had come out of nowhere. There’s nothing she hates more than feeling helpless. She’s grateful when Max asks, tells her what she wants, and she nods. “Yea…yea, I can stay,” Lena nods, fingers gently brushing through the blonde’s hair.
Max nods, curling further into Lena’s arms and burying her face in the other woman’s chest. It’s warm, and open, and it’s all she needs right now, someone to protect her from her fear and shame. “Thank you,” is the last thing she murmurs, almost inaudibly, before drifting off to sleep.
She awakes the next morning still curled in Lena’s arms, tear stains on her cheeks. Looking up at the other woman, she smiles softly, the vision of Lena sleeping peacefully beside her calming. When she tries to wrench herself out of Lena’s arms, however, she tenses up, stiff from being in the same position all night, and she winces, trying not to awaken her bedmate.
So It Goes || Max and Lena
Max pulls away from her, and Lena can tell she’s trying to find the words to answer. She reaches between them, pulling at the mess of blankets on the bed, pulling one up to cover herself, gently resting one over Max. She watches her, waits. She’s saddened by what the hears, disgusted, angry, but not surprised given what had happened. She wasn’t expecting her to be having combat PTSD considering what they had been doing. Lena’s unsure what to say, or do, but Max leans back into her again, and she carefully puts her arms around her, rubbing her back. “I’m sorry,” She says softly, hoping it’s not the wrong thing to say.
Max clutches at the blanket Lena hands her, wrapping it tightly around her body. She clutches at the edge so tightly her knuckles turn white, but holds on for dear life, grateful to have anything to grasp onto. She breathes a sigh of relief when Lena holds her, rubbing her back, and she buries her face in the other woman’s neck. Max is thankful for the embrace, and she melts into Lena’s arms, tears rolling down her cheeks. Sniffling, she looks up at the other woman. “Can we just..sleep, please? Will you stay over? I need you here, Lena. Please.”

So It Goes || Max and Lena
She can feel the moisture against her body, and the shaking of Max’s body. She’s crying, and Lena’s not quite sure what to do. Her brow furrows, going over what had just happened in her head. The words that Max had snapped out, the reaction, the situation. “What…just happened?” She asks slowly. “Where did you just go?”
At first, Max doesn’t want to tell her anything. She wishes she could just stay curled up against Lena like this, maybe even rewind time to back before anything happened, when she was just enjoying herself. But after a moment more pressed against the other woman’s body, tears trailing down her cheeks, she realizes there’s no way she can escape this situation. “I, I..” she blubbers, gasping in heaving breaths. After a second, she sits up, trying to regulate her breathing. She wipes at her eyes with the back of her hands, desperate to slow down her crying so she can at least talk to Lena properly. “There was a night,” she starts, slowly, still sniffling. “Years ago. I was stationed in Afghanistan. It was late, I was getting supplies from the supply tent. They..ambushed me. They were drunk. Making..jokes, sick fucking jokes. I’m strong, I can fight, but..I couldn’t fight them all, not at once. Not at once.” She dissolves into tears again, slumping back against Lena’s shoulders, wishing more than anything she could just go back in time.

“Max,” she hears somewhere in the distance, somewhere from the back of her mind. She doesn’t register it as Lena’s voice at all, and when it comes again, it’s distorted, floating through the mouths of the men who are taunting her. “Look at you, little Max,” they croon, pressing down hard enough to bruise her pale arms. “Not so strong anymore, huh? Thinking she could be just as strong as the men.. Tsk tsk. We’ll show you what happens to girls who think they can be soldiers around here.” She’s gulping in breaths, thrashing on the table, but nothing is happening. They loom closer and closer, and she opens her mouth to scream, but nothing comes out. “Max,” she hears again, seemingly closer this time. “Max, Max..” Blinking, tears dripping off her eyelashes, her bedroom slowly comes back into focus. It’s blurry, and her head is spinning, but she’s definitely in her bedroom. She’s gasping for air, blubbering, finally processing Lena sitting in front of her, looking as pale as the sheets that surround them. The other woman is murmuring words Max can’t understand, her ears ringing, but she reaches for her, shaking. “Lena?”
The blonde is crying, and nothing Lena says seems to be getting through to her. Feeling thoroughly helpless and at a loss, she looks around the room in a desperate attempt to find something, anything to help her. Max says her name, and Lena’s head shoots back to her. She hesitates as she reaches for her, but holds her hand out. “I’m here,” She says softly, taking her hand gently.
Max melts into Lena almost instinctually, taking her hand first and then fully curling up to and snuggling into the other woman. She buries her face in Lena’s chest, closing her eyes against Lena’s skin as tears still roll down her cheeks. Her ears are still ringing, but she can make out what Lena says, which only makes her cry harder. “Lena,” she says again, still trying to make her voice work properly. “I’m so sorry,” she blubbers, clinging to the other woman desperately. What was an extreme repulsiveness to touch moments before is now a desperate craving. “That’s..that’s never happened before. I’m sorry.”

“Stop,” Max whimpers again, even after Lena has pulled out of her and is clambering off of her body. She doesn’t even realize she’s crying until she feels tears drip off of her chin, dotting her sweaty collarbones. Glancing around, she’s back in that room, forest green tent tarp and single lightbulb making it almost impossible to see. She feels everything clear as day, the icy cold metal of the table beneath her forearms, an uncountable amount of hands grabbing at her, gripping her body, holding her down. She can almost hear the sound of tanks in the background, rolling across the hard packed desert sand. Max doesn’t even process Lena in front of her, doesn’t realize it’s her touching her face - just that someone is touching her at all. “Don’t touch me,” she hisses, jerking back. “Don’t you fucking touch me.”
Max jerks away from her touch, and Lena pulls her hand back quickly, frowning. What the fuck? She can’t help but think. Looking closer, it’s apparent to her that Max isn’t here with her right now, at least not in her mind. Her eyes are glassed over, and they’re open but Lena can tell she’s not seeing, that whatever she sees is not her, not here, not now. Throat dry, she recognizes what must be some sort of PTSD. “Max,” She croaks out, almost pleading. “Max,” She tries again, this time stronger, moving to touch her and then stopping, pulling her hand back again. “Max, sweetie, it’s ok…you’re safe, ok, you’re here. You’re in Seattle, in your apartment…it’s me, it’s Lena,” She tries, grasping at straws. “You’re safe, Max, I promise, please come back,” She croaks, wishing desperately she remembered more from her psych rotations.
At first, it feels amazing. Max whines high in her throat as Lena first enters her, her hips rising up to meet the other woman’s fingers. She guides Lena’s head back to her breast, gripping her head tightly as she whimpers for the other woman to fuck her harder, faster. When she does so, Max writhes, overwhelmed by the sensation. The knot in her stomach is coiling tighter, but so is the other feeling, which is making her feel lightheaded in an unpleasant way. She’s suddenly aware of the dog tags she wears around her neck digging into the skin between her breasts, and she catches a glimpse of her uniform in her closet again out of the corner of her eye. She feels sick to her stomach; was there a subconscious reason they had always had sex at Lena’s place, and never hers? It’s not until she comes face to face with the framed photo on her dresser - her laughing with a few army buddies, arms around one another and her head thrown back, blonde hair stark against the green camo of her jacket - that it clicks within her. Suddenly, the hands aren’t Lena’s, the bedroom isn’t her bedroom. She can barely see; a dim yellow light flickers through her vision. Desert musk fills her nostrils, and she’s suffocating. “Stop,” she croaks out, barely audible. Then, louder, “Stop. Fucking stop. Stop!”

//NSFW - LIKE VERY NSFW//
Max gasps loudly at the feeling of Lena’s teeth on her nipple, throwing her head back so her hair splays across her pillows like a halo. The hand in Lena’s hair tightens even further, Max’s back arching into Lena’s warm, wet mouth. “Fuck...” she breathes, a hand settling on Lena’s thigh to assist her in grinding. Her center is throbbing, a heat spreading through her lower body, but there’s something else spreading - something she can’t fully put a finger on. It’s only exacerbated when she catches a glimpse of her old uniform hanging in the closet, which is for some reason open, but she’s soon ripped from her thoughts when Lena pulls her hands up to her breasts. Max palms them firmly, feeling Lena’s nipples harden under her hands as she leans down to kiss her. “All for you,” she whispers, which quickly dissolves into a whine as Lena cups her through her underwear, Max immediately grinding down hard in order to find friction, her clit rubbing deliciously against Lena’s palm through the fabric. “Fuck, Lena. Please. I can’t take it anymore.”

[laughs] Canoodling, huh? I guess that makes sense. I ran into Frankie, literally, at the other place she frequents–the coffee shop. Wow, that’s impressive. Frankie speaks very highly of her. And mentioned that she was very attractive.
Yeah, I mean, we’re all in here all the time. So I’ve heard! Frankie’s told us about you, she’s really so happy she met you. We’ve all heard such great things. [giggles, blushing] Uh, yeah.. She’s amazing. Literally a genius. And one of the most gorgeous women I’ve ever met, I have no idea why she’s into me.
