Incredibly fucking slow at it 🤧
i fixed it
Pros of having a brain that makes very fast associations: Good comebacks and jokes.
Cons of having a brain that makes very fast associations: that story about how you broke your foot reminded me of a fun fact about lizards.
Okay two things
1) every time I see something like this, or photos of wild unrealistic landscapes that really exist, or spectacular architecture, whatever it is, I think again that when we write fantasy, we NERF REALITY. That is, here’s some dude with a special interest and a brain that somehow lacks basic self preservation mechanisms, and he’s out here looking like a super hero. Regular humans are capable of things we seem super human. Real landscapes are more fantastical than our fantasies. Reality is more fantastical than our fantasies.
2) how the fuck did he not kick out any windows that’s the most impressive part of the whole video.
this man is his own zombie apocalypse team, adding anyone else would just slow him down
So as someone who used to teach parkour back in the day, this dude isn’t just talented. His technique is amazing.
It’s not just about not kicking out windows. Controlling how you land is about shock absorption, about minimizing the strain on your joints. It also makes you quieter when you move. A good landing should be as silent as possible, because loud landings hurt. That’s the foundation of everything else you do in parkour. So by the time you’re climbing buildings, if you’re breaking windows it means you don’t have enough control to land safely and it’s time to go back to your ground basics.

A real Spider-Man lol
fabulous news, i finished writing the next chapter, just gotta put in the html and final edits :))
i really do think about this work every day, just been having a hard time creating lately. so if you're still here, thanks for hanging around!!
I really like this picrew so I went bonkers lmao
Realistically these kids would probably change their names and pronouns multiple times but I hesitate to do that with well established characters, and like, I think they're all pretty set already. Not quite true to the Trans Experience but we work with what we got
All I can rly do is assume they speedran gender in the four years after the school. Set free and they went nuts. New names every week.

When will creators of famous and beloved franchises realise that no fan in the history of fandoms has wanted the sequel with the new generation to have higher stakes and more angsty drama than the original.
A Fan: Wow, can’t wait to see the heroes’ children living in a world that has been made better by the original heroes, having a loving and respectful relationship with the hero I loved and respected as a child, and dealing with their own adventure that might not be as high stake as saving the world, but is important for their own personal journey.
A creator: How about the world is ending again, the new generation hates the heroes, who have become major assholes for no reason, and everything is bigger and goes more boom.
Hobbit/Lord of the Rings is the SINGLE exception to higher stakes sequel
and you know why? it’s bc nothing in lotr undid what happened in the hobbit
the hobbit was a lower-stakes story about bilbo helping some dwarves reclaim their ancestral home, and in lotr (the book at least) tolkien goes out of his way to talk about how bilbo lived for a long time rich and famous and happy, and that erebor and dale are prosperous and successful. the threat is something that bilbo brought home with him, but if bilbo hadn’t found it, it would have fallen into worse hands.
the reason why higher-stakes sequels are so often disappointing is bc it’s a betrayal of the original work, and undoes its premise and its victory. in the hobbit, they were never setting out to save the whole of middle earth, so the fact that the whole of middle earth ends up in peril during lotr doesn’t feel like a betrayal. terrible things happen in lotr, but they are better than they would have been in the hobbit hadn’t happened, and that’s why it works
Also, SPECIFICALLY with “The sequel follows the children of the original heroes”, I want the heroes to be good parents!!
No one HAS EVER written or read Kidfic to see their favorite characters turn into shitty parents!! Or to see them deprived of getting to raise their children.
Shitty parents are backstory, NOT SEQUELS.
I reread the final warning and oh my god. Oh my god. It's so preachy and it's not even good at it
How can jp expect me to believe that these small children unleashed on the world wouldn't have a billion questions, or that Jeb wouldn't answer them?
Not saying his answers wouldn't possibly be bullshit but he'd give them SOMETHING

I haven't done this much research since I had a literal research paper five years ago

this is so much fun tbh
pls heed the content warning
im at a point where i need to do more planning, but theres only about three more chapters in the fic until im done the angel experiment!
Lol and as soon as I am finished it, I have some revisions to make because I fucked up early on and EYE CARE about continuity
I've got the finished rough draft of the next chapter! It was really fun to write!
If you're in my timezone you will notice it is 3 in the morning.
