Something about Callie and Simeon that I didn't put into words until just recently is that one of them is an idealist who wholeheartedly believes in the power of love and kindness to transform even the worst of people and the other one is Callie Chandler.

Like for all of his grumbling Simeon was shown kindness - not even out of any sort of sincerity, just as a defense mechanism - and even after he learns it was just a defense mechanism, he gets over the initial feelings of rejection and being lied to, he goes "welp it's too late I care about this person and now I know what kindness is so I'm going to return the favor" and just works tirelessly for this person who means so much to him despite the fact that they may never feel the same way.

It gets in your head that you brush after eating when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Yeah that’s all well and good, but those are times that don’t have a lot of motivation and control…So just…brush your teeth at a different time.

Honestly this hack will solve most of problems. Just stop assigning meaningless “right” and “wrong” to tasks and start saying “I can pretty much do whatever I want whenever I want and society and its expectations don’t really matter to me”.

If you’re not keeping up, Cartoon Network sold off most of its original programming over the last few years to run exclusively on HBO Max, but after a merger with Discovery, HBO has taken them all down, including those that were still in production, for what is long story short a big tax write-off.

And it’s not a simple matter of them just airing or streaming somewhere else now. It’s a very complicated issue of rights and contracts and money but essentially it’s very possible that these shows will never be available again in official capacity and their creators will never see another penny from them again, either. Some completed episodes may also be lost media, indefinitely.

For a couple of series, such as Mao Mao and Infinity Train, Cartoon Network has gone back and scrubbed all tweets, youtube clips or other mention of the series existence, confirming they likely no longer have the rights to take them anywhere else.

The tweet today by the art director of Tig N’ Seek made me saddest.

A lot of people this week have simply given up on their industry careers, seeing years of their life’s work just vanish into a corporate vault overnight. Being able to point to your work on a streaming service had apparently even become a pretty critical part of the portfolios they now rely on to get new jobs.

Streaming media went from an optimistic new frontier to even worse than cable TV so suddenly.

i know this is awful, but in the case that we all have shows that we still want to see and show to our kids, here’s what i do:

step one: go to a totally legal streaming site

step two: screen record the episode with your phone or pc

step three: upload the file onto a place you can access easily for further use

step four: share with your kids

i’m ngl, i’ve been expecting something like this to happen for a while now. as i kid, i grew up on streaming services, and i’m all too used to some sort of contract falling through and ripping the precious access to a piece of media i once cherished out of my hands.

and for those of you who question if this is morally wrong, remember that dana terrace (creator of the owl house) also is forced to pirate her own show for the final product.
