"All my white diamonds and lovers are forever..."
... or Eruri Old Hollywood Au
Somewhere in 1950's Los Angeles, a young Erwin Smith arrives to the city with the goal of becoming a star, his pride and his wits.
He starts low, obviously, but he knows how to keep secrets, how to tell people what they want to hear.
Soon, he earns a few minor role but it's thanks to Marie, daughter of one of the studio's producers and his first wife, that he gets his first Starring Role.
He suggests Nile, his first friend in the filming industry, to be his co star and the shooting begins right away.
They're splendid; two best friends playing a duo of con artist.
Nile, the grumpy one who eventually softens for the woman he loves.
And Erwin, the romantic idealistic one who helps to build his image; the man every girl would want as a husband, the guy every father wants for a son in law.
...but there is one problem.
Erwin's character has to fight his sweetheart's cynical brother.
And who did the studio cast as the brother?
New actor, few roles but strong ones, son of a rich wine-making family, and he's Erwin total opposite.
Leather jacket, harsh, sarcastic, good girls like bad boys kind of characters.
And turns out he's an asshole in real life.
A quiet rivalry grows between the the three of them but Erwin knows best than to mess with Jet Set's gallant, so he tries to make peace with him.
They go for a drink and agree to help each other.
Erwin has the influence, Levi has the talent.
Now, the problems begin when Shadis, their director asks Erwin to tell Levi he has to leave the studio.
Why Erwin? Because he's testing him. To see if he's strong enough to drown anyone to stay afloat.
And why Levi? Well, because the studio doesn't want to be associated to a homosexual.
Erwin has no way to prove this, they're just rumours.
All of this rumours may or may not be confirmed almost 40 years later, when Oscar-winning actor Erwin Smith decides to hire an amateur writer called Armin Alert to write his biography.
There are only two conditions:
One: Armin and only Armin can write the book.
Two: no matter how much the writer want to justify him or redeem him,
Erwin Smith stops acting now.
