Aruani proposal HC: they're both walking on the beach and Armin notices that Annie doesn't have her ring. She tolda him that she gave it back to her father because she doesn't need it anyomore, she doesn't want to keep fighting. She turns around to look at the sea. It no longer means exile from home. It means Armin and Armin is home.
He awkwardly puts his hand on his pocket and says "Perhaps you could use a new one?" as he offers her a wedding band.
aruani forehead and nose kisses during office breaks pleaseee 🥺🥰
Jahdiqidnwhxjkqudnekdjaonauwjdkhfdjaagsgjs.
I'm actually going to go and say that actually, it was Annie who started this! Defying all logic because ofc, it should be Armin, it would be Armin, but no! It's their baby days as Ambassadors and turns out he's more worried about sneaking in kisses when she's always looking so tense and uncomfortable in their very new, very public roles. So he wants to kiss her but instead settles for (according to him) "not annoying" her until the day's done and they get to go home.
Annie on the other hand... Is very annoyed (and worried ofc) at how nervous Armin turns out to be. Throughout the day. Like, sure, he does the speeches, he does the paperwork, he manages to get through meetings and talks and discussions somehow in one piece... but everytime they're alone? He's teetering on the edges of a nervous breakdown 🥲 What if he can't do this? What if he's not convincing enough? What if they don't believe him? What if the world is more nihilistic, more cynical than he's ready for? What if his words fall on stone cold hearts? What if-?
Annie kisses him.
Okay okay okay listen- she does that to calm him down and not because she's horny and thinks he looks nice in his suit and how nice it would be to mess up that suit. Annie's genuinely concerned, and thinks that maybe he'll forget all the worries for a second if she can just remind him (with a very firm mwah!) that he isn't alone, that she has his back.
This does have the desired effect! NervousBoy.exe is terminated and Armin starts floating on flowers because hehehe, Annie kissed meeee, hehehehe 😌🌸 I am the luckiest man in the worlddd heheehe, hey Annie, one more kiss? Small kissy? ( ˘ ³˘)♥
But then... Like a puppy in training, Armin begins to veeeeery easily use this to his advantage lol. Anytime he gets nervous or overwhelmed again, he's just like: *siiiggggh* I fear this won't go as planned... I'm sure there will be a spanner in the works that I haven't foreseen... My words will be useless... I am a failure in this world... Unless...? I get a kiss? Certainly, a little kiss will help 🥺 🥺 right now my heart is hurting so much but with a teeny tiny kiss... 🥺🥺
And Annie's just like: ... We made out stupid just a half hour ago.
Armin: *surreptitiously wipes off the tiny bit of lipstick still on the corner of his mouth before she can point it out* B-but 🥺🥺 Annie...
Annie: Finish signing all those papers and then we'll think about it. And sit straight during. No slouching.
This is the only way Armin actually ever gets anything done as a diplomat. I'm telling you. You THINK he's a productive guy but no! He's just good at putting everything in order!
Anyways. Long story short, the papers are signed, the talks go well, the Things Are Successful(TM) and Armin gets to treat himself with Annie on his desk peppering little kisses all over his face until he's laughing. He returns them all too, exaggerated kisses on her cheeks, nose, face, neck until she's laughing and trying to push him off. Lots of giggling, lots of playful teasing, and if she's lucky, Annie also gets to send him back out to the big outside world with disheveled hair and tie.
It's a neat arrangement 😌
This reminds me of a scene in the first season in The Crown that I relate to aruani. Imagine Annie awkwardly accepting to go to some fancy event and she's feels... weird. She's just recently started to dress a little more femenine and she's not completely convinced it suits her.
Armin notices that before entering the party so he tells her that her dress is disheveled and asks the rest of the attendants on the queue to turn around for "a moment of privacy". He fixes her dress and then kisses her neck, as he whispers something sweet.
Today marks two years since the release of The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift, a favorite of mine that I relate to Erwin so, for the anniversary, let me tell you a little mind picture I've made based on one of the lyrics:
"At dinner, you take my ring off my middle finger and put it on the one people put wedding rings on, and that's the closest I've come to my heart exploding."
Imagine Erwin and Levi are just having dinner with the vets or other military personnel. Erwin is the one who does most of the talking while Levi just slides down on his seat a little bored. That is only until he starts playing with things we finds around; rearranging the cutlery, folding napkins, and he slips his hand under the table to play with Erwin's rings. He doesn't falter while he talks, but he notices. They've never talked about marriage, they're not even officially dating, nobody know about them, but this is the first time Erwin thinks about it. He hides a smile.
Levi didn't think much about he was doing. But then he stares at Erwin's finger and doesn't understand how a single ring on his finger can mean so much, only because he put it there. He lowers his head. He changes positions in his seat, because he feels at home and he's been a stray dog so long he doesn't really know what to do know.
Armin was 100% one of those kids who walked with his hands on his back because that's how his grandfather walked and he maintains that habit as an adult

Somewhere in 1950's Los Angeles, a young Erwin Smith arrives to the city with the goal of becoming a star, his pride and his wits.
He starts low, obviously, but he knows how to keep secrets, how to tell people what they want to hear.
Soon, he earns a few minor role but it's thanks to Marie, daughter of one of the studio's producers and his first wife, that he gets his first Starring Role.
He suggests Nile, his first friend in the filming industry, to be his co star and the shooting begins right away.
They're splendid; two best friends playing a duo of con artist.
Nile, the grumpy one who eventually softens for the woman he loves.
And Erwin, the romantic idealistic one who helps to build his image; the man every girl would want as a husband, the guy every father wants for a son in law.
...but there is one problem.
Erwin's character has to fight his sweetheart's cynical brother.
And who did the studio cast as the brother?
Levi Ackerman.
Levi fucking Ackerman.
New actor, few roles but strong ones, son of a rich wine-making family, and he's Erwin total opposite.
Leather jacket, harsh, sarcastic, good girls like bad boys kind of characters.
And turns out he's an asshole in real life.
A quiet rivalry grows between the the three of them but Erwin knows best than to mess with Jet Set's gallant, so he tries to make peace with him.
They go for a drink and agree to help each other.
Erwin has the influence, Levi has the talent.
Now, the problems begin when Shadis, their director asks Erwin to tell Levi he has to leave the studio.
Why Erwin? Because he's testing him. To see if he's strong enough to drown anyone to stay afloat.
And why Levi? Well, because the studio doesn't want to be associated to a homosexual.
Erwin has no way to prove this, they're just rumours.
But, what if it's true?
All of this rumours may or may not be confirmed almost 40 years later, when Oscar-winning actor Erwin Smith decides to hire an amateur writer called Armin Alert to write his biography.
There are only two conditions:
One: Armin and only Armin can write the book.
Two: no matter how much the writer want to justify him or redeem him,
Everything;
every PR movement,
every lie,
every secret,
every affair,
must remain on record.
Erwin Smith stops acting now.
Sooo, what do you think?

For a minute there, I lost myself
Watching Young Sherlock I started thinking about my own Sherlock x Moriarty retelling. It goes something like this:
Sherlock's family situation is complex (unlike the series, his mother ends her life or tries to so everything is chaos). Sherrinford is dealing with the legal stuff, organizing the state (in the novels it is mentioned that his family was from the landed gentry) so Mycroft is left to deal with the rest, including his little brother. Neither of them is good with emotions so he encourages (rather forces) Sherlock to pick a career and try to focus his life if something other than grief. He doesn't have much choice so he's sent to a small university to study Chemistry and decides to make anything to get expelled.
On the other hand, you have James Moriarty. Scholarship student with a brilliant mind, who fights of the negative stereotypes about Irish immigrants (Moriarty is an Irish surname and the 19th was not a great time to be Irish) with charisma and excellent grades. When he's assigned "the newcomer" as a roommate, he feels humiliated. The other students get to have their own room, this is just a reminder of how he doesn't belong there. Besides, he has to keep him under control to keep his scholarship and Sherlock's current goal is to escape that place.
Eventually, they end up teaming up because they're both "the weird ones". They think they don't have a heart but it's there and a feeling of mutual understanding grows over time. Sherlock is glad to find that his "problematic incapability to mind his own business" (as Mycroft calls him) is actually appreciated by people like James and begins to see future with a little more bright eyes, solving cases from other students. But Moriarty takes it a bit more seriously
For James, he is Sherlock's and Sherlock's is his. Sherlock wants problems. Moriarty wants to cause them. He hates how his classmates make fun of them and just generally behave like idiots. Sherlock's precious "order" and "logic" are merely rules crated by a selected few that everybody has to follow. Stupid rules like "two people of the same gender can't be together" or "an Irish could never compare to an Englishman". If they can create arbitrary rules, why can't he do the same? Why can't he create chaos and profit of it? After all, it would benefit both. Moriarty would make money and satiate his need for violence by planning others crimes that Sherlock can solve. Because, where's the fun in planning a crime you're sure you'll get away with? You can buy the police but you can't buy Sherlock Holmes' obsession.
He needs Sherlock for the thrill and Sherlock needs someone to create cases he can solve. Sherlock need him. They balance each other. They're equals.
But there's where they start to crack.
Moriarty gets upset at how everyone sees Sherlock as "good" because he helps people by solving their problems. He doesn't do it for altruistic moments. He is a spoiled child who need to be entertained constantly. Why does he get to be the good guy?
And Sherlock gets tired of James' cowardice. He's angry but he doesn't do anything about it. He doesn't even commit the crimes for Heaven's sake! But the final nail in the coffin is the chaos part.
Sherlock is decided to bring order to the world's chaos. He doesn't want chaos provoked in purpose. Does he?
They fight. They don't speak to each other, but Moriarty believes they're working in a silent deal. They'll both follow their own paths and they'll balance each other.
But something happens.
Sherlock finds out all the crimes he's been solving weren't random chaos, they were planned. So he does everything to stop them
And Moriarty discovers Sherlock is breaking their "deal" by trying to stop him. The balance is broken.
The only way for it to be restored is either they go back to before, or they die together. Because if one's left alive, the other one will eventually fall for lack of thrill or chaos.
No matter if it's love or hate, they will meet eventually. Two sides of the same coin who are destined to fall together.
(Guys I was just brain rotting but I'd really appreciate feedback)
Also if you made it this far THANK YOU

So, the project is still in development, but after watching a video about the history of jewelry, I got an idea.
Levi Ackerman appears on a red carpet with a peculiar detail on his wrist: a silver Cartier Love bracelet. An unusual accessory for a gentleman. It's a bracelet that was only sold to couples; one of them would wear it, and the other would fasten it with a special screwdriver that was usually thrown into a river.
"Who's the lucky one?" the press asks.
"Me, of course," Levi replies. "You don't wear a Cartier every day."
Everyone laughs, even Levi, who knows the truth.
He's the only one who knows about the small screwdriver that Erwin Smith carries in his pocket whenever he needs luck for an audition, an interview, or a premiere.
A small piece of metal that is capable of setting Levi free and also of breaking his heart.

"He couldn't put a name to it, but the pattern was always the same. He met someone. Someone nice. Well, they didn't have to be nice, but attractive. Not only handsome or pretty but magnetic. He couldn't distance himself from them. They spent hours together. Doing homework. Making cigarettes in the school bathroom. Watching TV. Listening to music on the way to the drive in. Then the moment came. Where the closeness wasn't enough. Being glued to that person twelve hours a day wasn't enough. He needed to be them. Be inside them. But going inside a person was tough work. And where do you start? By the flesh. The soft sometimes pale, sometimes tan skin. He tried to hold it in as much as he could. Satisfy his hunger with smelling, touching, sensing. But it was imposible. He was lying to himself. And to the other person who had the misfortune of falling into his life. He hold it in because he loved the quiet, the softness of the moment. The moment his teeth sank, the quiet became screaming and the softness, think warm blood."

I love Sasha and Niccolo, I love Ymir and Historia but I think Aruani are THE Forbidden Romance of Aot.
I've heard someone say that for a romance to be truly forbidden, both parts have to have something great to lose. Not just a little approval from loved ones or ego; something BIG.
Annie was risking her mission, not seeing her father again, who is the reason why she endures so much. She sacrificed four years being far from home, killing and backstabbing people she didn't really hate for Armin.
I wish they'd shown how much Armin was risking too. In season one the stakes were higher. Just one month. One month where we don't know how much was or could've been lost just because he waited. Because he didn't want to believe that Annie had done what she did.
And together, what then? Annie can't come back to Marley without being seen as a traitor who gave up a four year long mission for some guy but she can't stay in Paradis because of the harm that she's done.
Armin can't go to Marley because at first, well, he didn't know it existed, and then because life is unbearable for an eldian there. But, what would've happen to him if he's comrades saw him "sympathizing" with the girl he uncovered, who has killed friends of him?
They could be seen as traitors by both sides. The only option left is not to betray each other. Again.
(Sorry guys, I just rewatched the Female Titan arc and had to vent)
