Max sat on his bed, laptop in his lap as he worked on his paper for English, which he had been doing for over an hour now, but he couldnât seem to near a finish at all. Max groaned and rubbed his face, closing his laptop. There was no finishing this tonight. Deciding he had better things he could be doing, Max grabbed his phone and jogged down the steps, intent on figuring out what to order for dinner, seeing as he would be eating alone once more. He grabbed his cat, Boots, and was about to dial for pizza when he heard a knock on the door. Raising an eyebrow to Boots he walked over and opened the door.
âEmma are you okay?â He asked the girl standing on his porch, she looked upset about something. âIs it about Reese?â
Before saying anything, she welcomed herself into his home and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close to her as she let out a long deep breath. It was nice to be with someone that actually sounded like they cared about what she was saying. Everyone else seemed to feel that being âchillâ was a coveted attribute but to Emma, there was nothing wrong with feeling emotions openly. âYeah.â She nodded, âI found something.âÂ
Max is about to question her again when she lurches at him, giving him a hug, and he can feel the force she is putting behind it. Max frowns and brings his hand up to the back of her head. He isn't used to seeing Emma like this, sober or not. And he can tell she's sober, at least he is pretty sure she is. "Emma, what's wrong, do you want to come in?" He asks her, mostly to be polite, and he shuffles them back a few steps so he can close the door. "What did you find?" He asks, obviously it was big.
