Dhanishta — Dhruva is the exalted star / Pole Star amongst the sea of stars. Dhruva means “unshakeable” , like the aspect of Mars that is operating out of defense in order to establish and honor bound(aries) so that our actions (Mars) align with a higher purpose (Saturn’s self-sacrifice which reveals Sun’s Ultimate Reality as the Soul of Creation).

Dhanishta naturally embodies Dhruva as it channels the brightest energy (shakti) from the heavens so that all actions are coming from a strong Muladhara—Sahasrara alignment (meaning the Kundalini system is actively flowing with Shakti pouring from the heavens like Apas). This makes all actions made by Dhanishta eternally pure, which is why anybody goes against them will be met with Dhanishta’s energy which —naturally— “shakes back” for itself.

Dhruva himself was essentially neglected by his family despite being the heir to his father’s throne — so he set out to perform penance at an (incredibly) early age to align himself with his own destiny although he was advised not to because he was so young.

This entire story reminds me of my own, and how since childhood I sought to understand spiritual truths beyond all else (Dhanishta IC in 5th house ruled by Saturn in 9th house which becomes Dhanishta Saturn in D9)

I read that Dhruva had no desires of his own.

Lacking desire is key to Dhanishta’s abundance… they’re so keenly aware of the tangible elements of creation (Ashta Vasus) that they are somewhat detached from it, allowing Dhanishta to embody and carry a lot of spiritual “weight” so-to-speak. This is why Dhanishta feels so effortlessly glamorous. There’s a certain level of detachment from the material realm which is exactly what allows them to master the material realm, survival, pentacles, and the muladhara.

the infinite circle of the finite world: friedrich nietzsche and eternal return

friedrich nietzsche, in his work die fröhliche wissenschaft, introduces one of the most striking and challenging ideas in modern philosophy: the doctrine of eternal return. he presents it not as a theoretical argument to be proved, but as a thought experiment designed to test the soul, provoke reflection, and transform the way we measure our lives. it is both a riddle and an ethical demand, a call to consider whether we could affirm existence in its entirety, again and again, without end.

the doctrine can be understood in three essential steps: first, reception; second, confrontation; third, affirmation. these stages clarify how the thought functions as a test and a practice, rather than as a mere speculative cosmology.

first, reception:

the individual encounters the proposition of eternal return, famously framed in die fröhliche wissenschaft as the “heaviest thought.” a demon whispers: your life, exactly as it has unfolded and as it will unfold, will recur infinitely, in the same sequence, without alteration. every pleasure, every suffering, every trivial act, every forgotten gesture, all will repeat. at this stage, the subject merely hears the thought. it is shocking, destabilizing, and intellectually demanding. one recognizes the scenario as coherent, even if its literal truth is uncertain. the first task is to grasp the weight of the statement: the infinitude of recurrence transforms the significance of every moment. the trivial becomes permanent. the casual becomes eternal. this is the stage of awareness: the subject becomes conscious of the ethical and existential horizon imposed by the doctrine.

second, confrontation:

having received the idea, the individual now evaluates it in relation to life as it has been lived. this stage involves testing the self against the thought. the subject must mentally and emotionally measure whether each choice, each habit, each suffering and joy, could be affirmed if repeated endlessly. here, the thought becomes a mirror: it reflects one’s life back in its entirety, compressing all moments into a single, infinite loop. the confrontation is intensely personal. the ethical weight is unbearable precisely because the world is finite, structured, and yet proposed as endlessly recurring. this stage forces the subject to confront amor fati: the active love of one’s fate. the individual examines whether they can embrace not only the joyful moments but also the failures, losses, and constraints of existence. it is a deep, internal reckoning: can one will one’s life as it is, without modification, infinitely?

third, affirmation:

if the subject passes the test, the doctrine moves from intellectual recognition to existential commitment. to affirm eternal return is to say “yes” to life as it is, to embrace every event and every structure, to accept the totality of one’s finite existence as worthy of infinite repetition. this affirmation is not resignation. it is an active, creative act: one shapes one’s life as an artwork, integrating suffering into strength, weakness into possibility, and repetition into meaning. the affirmation transforms life itself: existence is no longer a sequence of accidental events but a composition of intentional and embraced moments. those who succeed in this affirmation achieve a form of self-overcoming: they have turned the ethical test into a lived practice, internalized the principle of amor fati, and inhabit their finite world with the dignity and joy of a life consciously willed to recur.

the nakshatra lens: hearing, rhythm, and the infinite circle

this progression, from shock to comprehension to affirmation, mirrors, in its psychological rhythm, an ancient symbolic pattern preserved in the vedic imagination through the nakshatras. if one maps the journey of eternal return onto the three-star arc of shravana, dhanishta, and shatabhisha, the doctrine unfolds as a cosmic rite: hearing, rhythm, and comprehension. each nakshatra embodies a phase of nietzsche’s challenge, translating philosophical intensity into mythic image.

shravana, the star of hearing, begins the sequence. its symbol is the ear, the instrument of revelation. here the soul first listens, not with curiosity but with the kind of listening that transforms the listener. shravana is the moment the demon’s whisper enters consciousness. one does not yet understand or act; one simply receives the idea that life may repeat eternally. the self becomes attuned to a sound that will not leave, a vibration of meaning that demands response. in nietzsche’s chronology this is the instant of the heaviest thought striking awareness, the ethical call heard but not yet answered.

from shravana, the movement flows into dhanishta, the drum or rhythm. dhanishta converts hearing into embodiment. its function is to manifest sound as pattern, to translate revelation into lived tempo. under this sign, the soul begins to sense life itself as rhythm; the recurring pulse of actions, habits, days. the thought of recurrence ceases to be an abstraction; it becomes experiential. every repeated gesture, every daily routine, every familiar sorrow appears as a beat in the endless drum of existence. this is the stage where nietzsche’s idea becomes practical: can one dance to the rhythm of one’s own repetitions? dhanishta exposes the texture of one’s life; whether its beat inspires joy or dread.

next arises shatabhisha, the circle. traditionally it is the sign of totality, of the closed system of knowledge, the boundary within which all worldly comprehension operates. it is not the infinite beyond the circle but the circle itself; the infinite circle of the finite world; the stage upon which all recurrence occurs. in nietzschean terms, shatabhisha marks the intellectual realization of the doctrine. the thinker perceives the closed loop of being: every pattern, every law, every joy and grief are contained within this eternal round. here the mind comprehends that the test of affirmation happens entirely inside immanence; there is no divine exterior to appeal to. shatabhisha embodies both infinity and finitude simultaneously, the endless recurrence within a bounded totality. this is the culmination of nietzsche’s doctrine: the awareness that life itself, finite and structured, demands affirmation exactly as it is, in every loop and return.

through shatabhisha, the abstract ethical and existential challenge of eternal return gains its symbolic and cognitive form. the infinite circle of the finite world is both the arena of the test and the context of the great yes. here the listener becomes the thinker, the thinker becomes the artist of life, and the soul confronts the ultimate mirror: all that is, eternally recurring, requiring nothing more than wholehearted affirmation.

People really can’t understand why Dhanishtas are the way they are, therefore will try to control them or perceive something about them to be “wrong”.

Dhanishtas provoke so much out of other people and people project so many fears and beliefs onto them because of it, it’s crazy. To not be afraid of how other people view you can make you invincible. I think the reason why Dhanishtas get so much flack from other people is because it’s threatening to see someone who’s met and accepted themselves on levels that you haven’t yet.

Dhanishtas know themselves the best and know they don’t have to explain why they are the way they are to anybody else. At their highest manifestation, they have a very much “take it or leave it” attitude towards other people who don’t accept them for who they are.

That’s one of the reasons Mars exalts here because once you’ve given up on caring about how well other people will digest certain things, especially the things you do and the way you live your life, you can literally do and accomplish anything.

Anuradha Pt. 4.1: Cults and Conduits

I want to begin with Zora Neale Hurston, an Anuradha Moon native best known for her work in journalism and anthropology in documenting African and African-American traditional religions and folklore. Hurston not only recorded those who were in these practices with precision and detail, but also immersed herself in them by undergoing initiations into several spiritual practices. She did this in order to understand them from within rather than from an outsider’s lens to assist the public on how important these practices were to the Black diaspora.

Mules and Men tells about her travels through these spiritual systems which have deep roots in their communities but intentionally hidden from public view. She recorded traditions like Hoodoo and Vodoo in the American South, showing that although wider society often dismissed them as superstition, “make-believe,” or even Satanic ( labels shaped by the forced spread of Christianity during slavery), they were actually foundations the Black diaspora relied on for survival and endurance. by maintaining the spiritual ties to their ancestors and inherited ritual knowledge.

Hurston wasn’t just documenting these traditions, but helping carry them forward. She became a conduit, bringing into the open what had long been hidden, using both her intellect and lived experience to keep these traditions visible and alive. Her role in shedding light and acknowledgement towards ATR practices during her time demonstrated a very strong component I've observed throughout Anuradha: They are the conduit or the center of alliances, relationships, and structures that were forged by those who survived or were under duress/threat. Furthermore, by bringing what is unseen into the light so it can maintain to exist, they become the vessel that allows karma/justice to unfold.

It was interesting to witness this as I assumed it to be only a Magha or Purvphalgunis, especially Magha trait as they represent the ancestral throne, ones that carry the soul of their ancestor's wildest dreams/purpose/karma, and Purvphalguni (flesh) to birth it. However, studying Anuradha revealed that they as well frequently appear as initiates, witnesses, or ancestral carriers who move the symbolic “chess piece” that allows justice/karma to take place in the modern world.

Rather than acting purely from personal will, they often function as what I've stated in another post before: The darkness they summon is not for self-destruction but to draw out the shadows in those around them.

By being agents of bringing dark truths to the surface, exposing those that dwell in secrecy, and completing the unfinished in spirit to the physical they are assist the collective by making them face what they’ve been avoiding in hopes that they stop acting out of survival/duress.

This dynamic becomes especially pronounced among those with strong Anuradha placements (particularly when tied to Mars, the Sun, or Venus). These individuals are often drawn to spiritual, esoteric, or occult themes and not only practices it, but provokes the collective through it. These natives frequently use occult imagery, symbols, or religious iconography not only for personal meaning, but as deliberate performance language. Their work often pushes boundaries in ways that force confrontation, stirring the collective unconscious and channeling spiritual tension into public space.

The use of Luciferian, satanic, or ritualistic symbolism is not necessarily about literal worship, but about reaction, reversal, and rupture. The aim is not to comfort but to confront. It is purely to rid fear of evil by putting themselves in the hot seat or center that evil for all to see. Through their imagery and performances, they surface the hidden fascinations and fears of the public by embodying what society represses: Sexuality, death, power, chaos, and the impulse toward destruction or transformation.

What the public tries so hard to rid or to unacknowledge, even forming alliances or spiritual practices to combat it (Christianity vs Satanism) Anuradha demonstrates fearlessness by embodying it. *In general, this is a pattern throughout Saturn naks, Pushya especially, and Purva Ashada as I've researched but that will be another post haha*

Those influenced by the Anuradha nakshatra seem to act as living representatives of Saturn’s influence: Integrating structured belief systems, traditional values, or disciplined spiritual paths into the visible life, no matter what form they take and do it proudly so. All in all, Anuradha energy tends to make the private spiritual framework visible, turning belief, discipline, and tradition into something publicly embodied or expressed rather than quietly held.

As a result, they are sometimes seen unusual, morbid, strange, and even initiators or carriers of darkness- not necessarily because they create it, but because they refuse to deny it's existence. Their acceptance of shadow is often misunderstood as allegiance to it, and because of this allegiance it may appear that darkness follows them everywhere. In reality, their perspective tends to come from the belief that darkness is an unavoidable part of life, and because they acknowledge it more than others they are able to create a opening/portal/entrance for the "evil" to come to light.

I see Solange Knowles as a strong example of this pattern as a someone who has Anuradha as their saturn placement. Her music and life path both reflect a foundation towards reclaiming what has been hidden, repressed, or shamed, especially traditions and expressions that others once feared for their power. In Saturn, there is a huge responsibility to not only explore spiritual or cultural roots, but to nurture and maintain the structures her surviving ancestors lived, and as a form of respect be the living representation of it. She represents Saturn in Anuradha: a foundation centered on honoring lineage, tradition, and the presence of those who came before that require discipline and fearlessness.

While Anuradha often expresses itself through preservation, devotion, and the illumination of hidden spiritual truths, it also carries a lesser-discussed tendency: the urge form intense spiritual alliances during moments of uncertainty or transformation. These bonds are often entered with the intention of healing, belonging, or finding higher meaning, yet they can sometimes lead to outcomes that are more destructive than restorative.

In this next part, I will examine how Anuradha's drive for loyalty, structure, and spiritual purpose can make individuals susceptible to forming alliances that take shape under vulnerability, stress, or fear. This includes situations where devotion becomes binding, not only in partnership (as discussed in PT.3), but in group settings where guidance becomes control, and community begins to mirror cult-like fatal dynamics built on emotional pressure with the promise of salvation or protection, and the Anuradha native either maintaining or brings karmic justice to it. Bonnie "Ti" Nettles, a Saturn Anuradha native, was the co-leader and founder of the cult Heaven's Gate that began with Bonnie meeting Marshall Applewhite after he had taken an injured child to the Hospital Bonnie worked at. It is said that once meeting, Bonnie had performed a astrological reading on Applewhite and from there they had formed Heaven's Gate as a way to assist others in communicating with extraterrestrial beings about the future of Earth.

Before her death, it was believed that Bonnie was "the sage" of Heaven's Gate and actually the main leader of the cult while Applewhite was the speaker. Despite Applewhite was a vessel for Bonnie to express her spiritual beliefs and interpretations through, she acted as the conduti/vessel for the aliens they were contacting. This makes complete sense as she had moon in Hasta nakshatra, ruled by Mercury in Magha with Sun in Purvaphalguni.

However, it is her upbringing that strikes out to me regarding her saturn in Anuradha placement. It's stated on multtiple occasions she conducted seances, frequently visited ortune-tellers, and studied astrology, theosophy, and the occult. The foundation and structure of Heaven's Gate (Saturn, as Saturn can reprewas forged from an alliance of a injured child, and Bonnie became a channel of mysticism and occult knowledge the group was founded on.

In most of my research on this pattern, I’ve noticed that many Anuradha conduits seem to emerge under conditions of extreme stress, threat, or trauma. These alliances appear to form at moments when someone is experiencing overwhelming pressure, whether physical, emotional, or psychological.

This is one of the main basis of cults: a bond is forged into a group in response to that intensity of damage and functions as damage control, which the Saturn nak native desires and seeks the most, whether or not it truly provides protection or healing in the long run.

As Saturn can represent structures groups or institutions, it is no wonder cults are under this planet, along with Venus as cults are groups that function under hierarchal, kept from the public eye, and rules that keep the group functioning as a unit. The most famous cult leaders historically were born during a time Saturn was in the sign of Capricorn, or had Revati (the nakshatra Shani was born in) influence, along with other Saturn and Venus rulership influencing the chart. However, it is the Saturn nak native in these groups that either benefits or suffers the most at the center of this bond, specifically Anuradha as they have the most power to either maintain, strengthen, or destroy the alliance/bond. Whichever they choose may become a portal and bring to light whatever energy was created via that alliance, whether evil or good.

NOTES ON KETUVIAN 

*applied if you have Ashwini, Magha, Mula on your big 6 and Ketu 1h, 2h, 4h, 6h, 7h & 10h as well as prominent aspects to inner planets. 

✰ Ketuvian natives might be born right after the family managed to battle a very difficult time in their life. Since we know that nodal is a karmic placement, all that is left is the family members dealing with internal issues while the natives watch them pick themselves up from zero. I believe that the natives’ existence is a reflection of the family’s karma as well and it urges them to look at their surroundings to work through it. 

✰ Might be more shallow but I notice that Ketuvian natives are often the better looking siblings. 

✰ They usually have a hard time accepting that they’re humans and every person I know (including myself) have a phase where they reject their humanity and they either identify as an animate object or the most powerful higher beings (dolls and gods are common with these nakshatras).

✰ I notice most of them are raised religious, or that religion’s teachings have been a big part of their existence (shaping their inner self and philosophy as well). That’s why most of them can be seen as the teacher because they carry lots of wisdom and influence. 

✰ Interestingly enough, they are very detached from their teachings and all despite being a very devoted follower, and even some have converted. This attitude towards spirituality where it is more casual and distant, is however the exact opposite to Rahuvians who are more consistent with their practices and beliefs. 

✰ Also it’s a weird thing but I’ve met a lot of second child ketuvian and never any other siblings (as they are either be the second kid, or could be the first born sibling but their mom could be pregnant for the second time when conceiving the natives). 

✰ Ashwinis tend to be their mother’s first child, I know 3 people and saw several celebrities with this placement.

✰ Despite what everybody says about ketuvian being the royalty nakshatras, Ashwinis can somewhat be an exception and are usually the rag to riches nakshatra.  

✰ Most of them can emotionally and physically raise themselves starting from teenage years. Out of all the three, Ashwini is the one with the strongest feelings about their families, Magha remains close emotionally but distant and only be civil for the sake of it, and Mula tends to be the one that follows their family’s orders. 

✰ A lot of magha natives are described to look bunny-like although it is a rat yoni. Rat and bunny does have a similar look to some extent, with magha natives usually possessing a characteristic of a softer face and can sometimes open their mouths that have two front teeth like bunny/rabbit yonis (although the vibe is very different). 

✰ I notice a lot of them are on medications for health reasons, usually have good health until they unexpectedly got very sick and have to become reliant on this since. Or either, they could be taking ones to nourish their bodies for preventative measures. 

✰ They also can be very performative, in a way that isn’t obviously come out as fake, but they tend to separate their public and private persona at first until it mashed together, causing them a lot of confusion about their identity. Most Ketuvian celebrities are celebrated as the ‘perfect’ idol because they can put on an act very convincingly and mold themselves into someone’s ideal version of that character. 

✰ Similarly to this, their performative ways stem from them never experienced what it’s like to fully ‘live’ or immerse themselves in their lives. While they exist in a physical form like everybody else, they don’t experience humanity in the same way everybody else does. They’re the writer of their own lives, the observer, not the main characters whose script is written by an invisible director, which is why they have a dismissive attitude towards living in general. This was brought to my attention by a post by @crismonfog (which I lost the link to, but it inspired me to start writing this post) and I’m elaborating on this point further. 

✰ Speaking about being the writer of their own lives, it’s why people say that they make great manifestators. They naturally manifest things into their lives as a form of escapism. They seek for some control over their own lives because without planning ahead, they won’t know what to do, so that’s why a confident and in-tuned Ketuvian usually has a good head on their shoulders. An immature ketuvian is when they go with the flow without taking directions or some sort of guidance or not spiritual at all, which can make them ignorant to their surroundings. 

✰ They might not realize it, but when they get into any kind of relationship, they end up looking for the meaning of themselves through others. It’s not a projection in any sort but if Ketu is in the house of self and makes any kind of aspect to things such as their sun, moon, mercury etc, they can often doubt themselves or feel empty and a bit confused. Companionship is how they define themselves through the eyes of others because they can observe themselves through 3rd person perspective and correct their behaviors and actions, helping them understand and grow, nurturing their Ketu. 

✰ They often are projected on and it probably shows up even more for people who have prominent Pluto and Neptune there. Ketuvians can appear very idealized to others and people really want to ‘tame’ these natives. 

✰ They often are met with major transformations in life very young and frequently. They’d write a good book on society because they’re not the collective people, they’re an outsider who assimilates into the living world and they experienced being on the receiving end of society and seeing others being on the receiving end of the same issue or different ones. They can also put themselves into others’ people's shoes because they’re not so in touch with themselves while also recognizing it’s not their story. 

✰ People think they’re self centered and self-obsessed but once they stop performing for others and you get to know them, they actually hate being perceived or think about themselves. This can make them very self depreciating.  

✰ The stereotype of them being empty on the inside is unfortunately true which is why they have tendencies to attract weird people who want to fill that void or make them into someone else. At the same time, they carry a lot of depth and wisdom that they are aware of but the void outweighs it in their mind. 

✰ They can be very socially awkward, even if they are not struggling with anxiety of sort. I believe that this is largely due to the hollowness that they often find themselves struggling inside and the less awkward and skittish they are, the more confident they will be (most of them in my experience tend to be nerdy). 

✰ The differences between Ketuvians and Rahuvians are their level of decisiveness and it shows in their speech (this is not to say that they’re unconfident, but these two are very different when it comes to voicing their opinions). Rahuvians tend to make a lot of references when they speak, more blunt, more straightforward. Ketuvians tend to be more awkward, maybe a little more passive when speaking. 

✰ Ketuvians tend to have a lot of people who see them as a mentor and unknowingly mimic them as well. They naturally command attention but depending on how they act, it could be either positive or negative and it heavily affects them to the point it could stun so much of their mental growth (as I mentioned earlier that it is actually a karmic planet to have).

The 10th house rules our life’s honor. It represents the services we perform for society as well as the reputation we earn as a result. It is associated with the father and the career because traditionally, this is where both our standing in society and the role we performed in society would come from - inherited through the father’s family line. However, in our contemporary world, this isn’t always the case, which is why it’s important to know the grander themes at play.

Mars is a planetary object that represents motivation, force of will, and personal drive. It is the pursuit of pleasure and the incurring of wrath. His impact is severe, earnest, and compelling, and is escaped by no one.

As a Scorpio rising, mars is the 1H & 6H ruler. I got sick w covid for the first time, which caused me to have an existential crisis & depressive episode that just hit out of nowhere.
