Thank you for your partecipation.
i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.
Happy migraine and headache awareness month. This may seem like a minor terminology nitpick, but it’s a serious misconception about migraine: nausea is an actual migraine symptom, not a thing that happens because of the headache. When people with migraine experience nausea during attacks, it’s not because the pain is so bad (the idea that migraine is always excruciatingly painful is also a myth), it’s because migraine causes a lot of symptoms that aren’t pain, including nausea.
This goes for other symptoms as well: although pain can definitely contribute to people’s experiences of these symptoms, fatigue and brain fog are actual migraine symptoms, not just pain symptoms.
This is also your friendly PSA that nausea is not a normal tension headache symptom, if you frequently get nauseous with your headaches, you almost certainly have migraine.

i love when people on the internet get denied stuff and you find the most innovative minds of the generation dedicated to making goddamn sure other people get what they want come hell or high water
Okay but I get this. All of you worms who have things blocked on your wifi or whatever and have IbisPaint this is how you do it
Open IbisPaint go to a canvas (any canvas, or make. a new one)
Select the font tool (if you don’t know what or where that is, press the tool icon (normally a paint brush or eraser) and press the T button
From there you should be able to create a text box (writing is not important…). Find the font button and add a new font. I can’t remember what it’s called but you’ll know when you see it
It’ll automatically search for you “free fonts.” Do not follow this. Your app is misdirecting you. Instead search up whatever it is you’re looking for in the search bar, and that should work
Knowledge should not be trapped behind bars, bend and break them until you can grasp it
a ton of people have unexpectedly followed me over the last 2 days so here is my rent-lowering gunshot:
the american south is the most racially diverse and poorest region of the united states, and any political sentiment that treats the south is stupid or expendable is inherently racist and classist. a lot of y'all are racist and classist. the south is also the heart of american culture. argue with a wall. you cannot deny that everybody in the entire world does not emulate artists from atlanta. there is vested interest in keeping the south poor and uneducated BECAUSE this is the most racially diverse region in this country. if you actually give a fuck about progress, you would fight for the south, not mock us.
Watched a documentary about abuse and advice one guy said to give children was, "Tell them that if someone is hurting them, to tell someone - and don't just tell one person. Tell as many people as possible, and keep telling as many people as possible until the abuse stops." and i really liked that
Bc so many ppl focus on the idea of telling A Trusted Adult, but even a well-meaning individual can fuck up and let abuse fall through the cracks or not know what to do
Whereas if a child tells LOADS of adults AND other kids, there's far less opportunity for an abuser to do damage control
Consistently telling their story and spreading it around disempowers the abuser to control and coerce the flow of information, or to utilise gaps and weaknesses in systems of reporting or welfare to isolate the child
Just really good advice. Not suprised I don't hear it more often.
This is really good advice and, in the UK at least, also applies to “adults at risk” as well. It’s what I did when I had problems with my social care provider that amounted to a safeguarding concern earlier this year.
If your school safeguarding lead, youth worker, scout leader, neighbour, doctors surgery, local citizens advice office etc. all make referrals and follow up on them to make sure they’ve been received and taken seriously then it’s more likely that it will be taken seriously and that action will happen.
There's a creator on TikTok who's also a RAMCOA survivor and they often talk about their experience very openly, which I think is so cool considering people never react normally to these things. Like I get it's extremely off-putting to hear a lot of these things, but there's a difference between being uncomfortable and trying to shut us down from ever talking about what we went through imo. Gets kind of tiring having to tiptoe around what you can and cannot share about your life
Reminder that non-programmed systems can have hierarchies, complex innerworlds, and internal perpetrators, among other things.
Reminder that you can be an OEA survivor and not be programmed, or even be a system.
Reminder that programming is a long-term type of torture that is not possible online. You can be conditioned and not programmed.
Reminder that western experiences and perceptions of OEA can be, and are, vastly different from ones in other areas.
DID symptoms that people don't talk enough about
The cycle of forgetting and then re-remembering trauma memories
Constant depersonalization and derealization
Feeling as if you're stuck living someone else's life
Failure to plan for the future because nothing feels real + losing time
Thinking a flashback is over when you've actually just dissociated away from it, and having it resume as soon as you stop dissociating
Dissociative stupor/trance
Alexithymia
Identity issues outside of alters
Inability to connect with other people
Being unable to tell if you've healed from a past problem/trauma or if you've just dissociated away from it
Not learning from past mistakes because of amnesia and dissociation
Feeling nothing psychologically despite physical shaking, racing heart, nausea, crying, etc
The extreme disorientation + identity confusion that comes with co-consciousness and co-fronting
Somatic flashbacks
Being triggered by your own DID symptoms because you know the only reason you're experiencing any of this is because of what they did to you
it’s completely acceptable to stay alive for tiny reasons. because you want to hear your favorite song one more time. because your dog will miss you if you leave. because the moon is just too pretty to never see again. because you haven’t seen the next season of a really good tv show. because you want to see the christmas lights this year. if you’re alive, you’re doing enough. if you’re surviving, i’m proud of you.
Are any other survivors of organized abuse/trafficking feeling kind of fucked up about this week's reminder that Trump is in the Epstein files and that it feels like no one actually fucking cares?
Like, Musk obviously knew the whole time and tried to drop his little truth bomb about it once they had their public billionaire breakup. Was that supposed to make him look like a whistleblower or a hero? He only revealed the truth (that we all already knew) after Trump cut off his cash flow.
It just feels like a huge reminder that no one actually cares about the victims of child sex trafficking or csam. All of this, even the decisions about who is held accountable and who receives justice, all of it is just a power game.
I just feel like meat for the meat grinder.
I don't think anyone talking about Epstein actually cares about victims of csa, trafficking, organized abuse, csam or any of it. They never talk about us like they give a shit.
Repetitive Conditioning Both ritualistic abuse and mind programming rely heavily on repetitive conditioning to manipulate the victim’s behaviour, thoughts and beliefs. In ritualistic abuse, victims may undergo repeated traumatic events that are framed as part of a greater ritual or spiritual system, forcing them to endure abuse in a way that makes it feel “normal” or “necessary” for their survival. This repetition of traumatic experiences is a form of mind programming that deeply affects the individual’s psychological state.
For example, a child subjected to ritualistic abuse might be told that the rituals are for their protection or are part of a sacred tradition. Over time, this programming can alter the child’s perception of the abuse, leading them to believe that the abuse is essential or even desirable, reinforcing their compliance.
